Police, The - Rehumanize Yourself Lyrics
He goes out at night with his big boots on
None of his friends know right from wrong
The kick a boy to death 'cause he don't belong
You've got to humanise yourself
He'd like to have a gun just to keep him warm
Because violence here is a social norm
You've got to humanise yourself
Rehumanise yourself
Rehumanise yourself
Rehumanise yourself
Rehumanise yourself
I work all day at the factory
There must be a reason that I can't see
You've got to humanise yourself
Billy's joined the National Front
He always was (just) a little runt
He's got his hand in the air with the other cunts
You've got to humanise yourself
Rehumanise yourself
Rehumanise yourself
Rehumanise yourself
Rehumanise yourself
I work all day at the factory
I'm building a machine that's not for me
There must be a reason that I can't see
You've got to humanise yourself
A policeman put on his uniform
He'd like to have a gun just to keep him warm
Because violence here is a social norm
You've got to humanise yourself
Rehumanise yourself...

Of of my favourite tracks from an album called "Ghost In the Machine" which I always enjoyed listening at home
Wow, needed now more than ever. Who’s still listening to this in 2023 or 1980’s?
Excelente...
All I know is this song was in the 1984 movie "Bachelor Party" when the ladies went to the strip club where they also played Darlene Love's "Alley Oop". Two favorite songs now added to my play list. I love the 80s.
" hands in he air wither t he other cuonts , rockin , lov ite ,

¿Charly Garcia y Pedro Aznar - Angeles y Predicadores?

"Billy joined the national front ............ so true
Micha Michi 🙂😘
Can't believe the President of the United States endorsed the National Front candidate over Macron and no one cares.
There's such a constant barrage of shit that chilling facts such as that often get lost in the noise.
I adore everything about this song!!
Fun fact... this song is playing in the Tom Hanks movie “Bachelor Party”, where Tom and his buddies sneak into the strip club!! 🤘🤘
BluStrat22 really? Hmmm I’m gonna have to rewatch that flick again. Great movie!
what I was 18 this young blonde girl bought this album for me feminine is so far ahead of the masculine.....
I didn't see The Police live after 1978/79 until the 2000's in Las Vegas. I first saw Sting again at Tiger Woods Charity Concert (TGR) and then a few years later with Andy and Stewart. Awesome concert!
Genius play on words here; he says "rehumanize yourself" as the vocal harmony is revoiced. Sting "reharmonizes" himself.
Rehumanize yourself and turn from bloodshed
COPELAND'S SONGS ROCK!!!!!!!!!!
Bachelor party
Love this!!!!!!
14 people joined the National Front
Fascists are going to fascist. Let them Brevik, the mills of God grind slowly and all that.
Bopey McFuqno The British Nazi Party.
This goes very appropriate in 2018 too
wow the bass line is very powerfull complex mix of mélodic and rithem bass sound
Sting's bass was really the lead instrument in their music.
With the rise of Antifa and other Hate groups on the Alt Left this song is apropos
LOLOL Yeah, because wingnut neo-Nazi violence isn't a thing at all. LMAO
Dan ganas de saltar de la silla....
There's a message for '18 here, too.
I note that Mr. Sting uses the word c*nt in this here song called "Rehumanize Yourself"-- I wonder if he will get in trouble now like Samatha Bee?
Specifically, he writes and sings at 1:34 "...he's got his hands in the air with the other c*nts..."
Hey everybody, spread the word and let's go after this boring old fart rock star-- oops, I'm sure he says he has "artistic license" to do such things.
Oh yeah? Howse about a boycott of your recordings and concerts, Mr. Sting? Maybe we should revoke your artistic license and have you settle out of court by doing some community service having you play for free performing in a glittering tuxedo in North Las Vegas, NV!!! Ha, ha, ha!
In the meantime, let's have a contest to help Mr. Sting out so he can quickly re-write and re-record the song-- what say ye, you all? Eh? Let me take a stab here--
["Billy's joined the National Front
He's as real as a publicity stunt
He's got his hand in the air like other blunts
Rehumanize yourself"
Copyright Gordon Sumner 2018]
Okay, so it's not great lyrics, but could you do better? Well? Give it a try why doncha?
Peace.
Why does this sound like music from Spyro?
steward copeland's the drummer for the police and the composer for spyro music :P
Stewart Copeland did the music for the Spyro games.
Sunny Beach but Its The Police
rehumanize yourself and face away from bloodshed
Folks, let's grasp the bigger picture here, in a TechnoSociety whose Technique ("the totality of methods having absolute efficiency in every fields of human activity”) conspires to turn us into soulless worker-consumers, or worse, subverting and suppressing individual values towards a monolithic world, Humanness-Human Excellence-the Humanities matter more than ever. http://twitter.com/Renaissance2022
A little reductive, but not far off.
Rehumanize Yourself and face to... (shit, what's the opposite of bloodshed?)
it is now 2018 and with the re-emergence of nazism and normalisation of the alt right, this song is more potent than ever.
get real, the leftists are the ones attacking people
NAZIS ARE GROSS
Mr Trump...please rehumanize yourself !!!
Too late for that.
I remember beating up the Police and Rush fans because they didn't like Ozzy and AC/DC. Squares.... Then i'd go home and secretly listen to this album, in shame.
I am still a Rush fan, and I love all of what you mentioned.
Hey_ Joe You should maybe feel shame for posting about beating people up also.
lol - so you are the topic of this song.
"He goes out at night with his big boots on,
None of his friends know right from wrong,
Kick a boy to death cause he don't belong,
You got to humanize yourself"
says it all ...
The National Front is back. They call themselves the Alt Right.
And they're still a bunch of cunts.
+eddy Truth hurts, don't it?
@Serai3 Yep!
@Serai3 God yes, if only that profanity was sufficient to describe their maliciousness, greed, and stupidity.
Music by Stewart, lyrics by Sting.
Praise be unto Stewart, eye roll at Gordo.
"...he's got his hand in the air, with the other cunts...you got to REHUMANIZE YOURSELF". Great line
National Front = alt Right.
National Front = Trump, Bannon and friends.
"hands in the air with the other cunts" is about right.
First time I heard this rad song, I knew right away it was written by Copeland. Those sweet Rumble Fish sounds are unmistakable.
They're Sting's lyrics, though.
Rumble Fish is a great score and movie, one of Coppola's most underrated. Stewart did several movie scores, so talented.
As appropriate an anthem for 2016 as it was 35 (!) years ago.
ITS GONNA BE ALWAYS AN ANTHEM WHILE CAPITALISM EXISTS
2019 and we still need it!
Sounds Ska-ish
Reggae was their main influence.
wish they played this on the radio instead of roxanne or sos
DrewF they play it on Sirius's First Wave station ..
dont think they will cos of the cunts ha
What the fuck is SOS???
mancosickbag It's a digital representation of the three lads, Sting's the middle one.
@mancosickbag message in a bottle? Sending out an sos (?)
When the Police did their Ghost in the Machine tour I stood in line for tickets in early 1982 with my jam box blasting a red hot live Police concert I'd taped off the radio---it made me a bunch of instant friends. People knew who it was but not where it came from (I still have that tape). Anyway tickets were being sold at a local record store, and fans had to stand outside in the cold if they wanted to buy tix. Tempers frayed quickly; a riot started in front of the store and there was a real danger of plate glass windows being caved in, injuries and a cancellation of sales. Since I was popular with the crowd I started shouting, "Rehumanize yourselves," to everybody. All the people started laughing and immediately stopped pushing and fighting. I managed to get tickets without anyone getting a little bit hurt (I hadn't thought of that in years).
Perfect!
What is a tape???
HAHAHAHAHAH
Pretty sure it's the live Japanese recording. I have it somewhere too. It was great!
Amazing Copeland
+Auntkekebaby Right you are, auntie! What amazes me is that critics dissed Stew back in the seventies for his timekeeping. WTF, he was the heartbeat of The Police and the sparkplug that fired their high octane big block engine. Nowadays you never hear anyone bragging on Sting or Andy's excellent guitar work, it's all Stewart Stewart Stewart.....as well it should. Tap your foot? Shee-it, he got everybody's ass shakin'.
did you notice the opening chords were borrowed by Stewart for Rumblefish.
@DAGDRUM5
I always thought that the time keeping thing was about finding something on him. Sure he sped up sometimes. It was great!! I have so many bootleg recordings with Stu racing. So much energy. I don't give a damn.
Here's sting's quote regarding the Islam Karimov: http://www.newyorker.com/news/amy-davidson/sting-in-uzbekistan
Sting needs to play this song to himself. He accepted £1 million from Islam Karimov, brutal dictator of Uzbekistan, to perform privately for Karimov's daughter and friends. The hypocrisy of pop stars never ceases to amaze me!
@NuggetOfBlueGold I am so sorry! I mistakingly put your name! :( I deeply apologize. My reply was meant for @Nathan Kyrouac who said, "What? That's so dumb for you to call him a sell out for that." @Nathan Kyrouac , the point of my initial post was obviously lost on you, so I will refrain from even addressing you further. I don't do well with morons.
@NuggetOfBlueGold I am going to delete my mistaken reply because you were sweet. :)
@Song Mozart Don't try to cover for me any longer! I was highly aggressive & almost started a nuclear war with my hawkish behaviour. Today I stand before the public, ashamed of my foolishness, and ask you all to accept my resignation. >:(
Don't let that stop you listening to The Police. The band was not only Sting but Stewart and Andy who I think were the real backbones of the band.
Brandon, just pointing out the hypocrisy of pop stars - Sting has been vocal about various stuff! He also says he's spending every penny of his wealth, & not leaving anything for his children. Inherited wealth can be a bad thing, but to not leave anything is a bit extreme.
"The Police" were a band, yes, but Sting wrote many - or most! - of the songs - he made the group what it was. I'm not denying that he was born with talent.
They've all made plenty of money - listen to the songs uploaded by various YT users, NOT VEVO, unless really necessary.

Welcome to my world in America in 2019. Sucks bad.
