Police, The - Landlord Lyrics
I don't want to rent a house from you
I don't know how you can expect me to
I ain't moving cause I know my rights
Too many homeless on the streets at night
You earn your living like the other rats
You've no morality, what do you care
You deal in poverty, you buy despair
I ain't moving 'till the bailiff comes
I've got no weapons, gonna get me some
I ain't moving 'till the bailiff comes
I've got no weapons, gonna get me some
You go and call yourself a business man
You're just a middle class middle aged shit
You sold your granny for a three-penny bit
You own a street and a block of flats
You earn your living like the other rats
You've no morality, what do you care
You deal in poverty, you buy despair
I ain't moving 'till the bailiff comes
I've got no weapons, gonna get me some
I ain't moving 'till the bailiff comes
I've got no weapons, gonna get me some

Police, The Landlord Comments
How many times did Andy have to change guitar strings after this takes?
I bought the Message in a Bottle 45 when l was a kid, but when I heard the B-side Landlord, my musical tastes change towards punk and hardcore pretty quickly because I said wow that's fast heavy and I fell in love with it instantly.
Flip to Message in a Bottle.
Gulp, like this song too much.🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🦒🦒🦒🦒🦒🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍good one I limit 🐇🐇🐇🕊🕊🕊🕊🍀🍀🍀🍀
Dedicated to all the renters out there who have ever had to deal with crappy property management.
Next to You on steroids!
Fuck this song isn't on Spotify
Sounds like "Fall Out." Andy Summers rarely thrashed this hard with the more well-known Police songs.
The Punkice!
This song is better than some others that made it onto "Outlandos".
B-side "Friends" is also much better than some others that made it onto "Zenyatta Mondatta"! ^)))
The Punk...lice. Love this!
Very amazing punk style music from aThe Police! Can't beat this!
There's a part of the chorus that sounds like: 'I got me Wetherspoons to get me stoned lol. I always loved the 'b' sides, especially Dead End Job :)
@TheVidkid67 THAT'S A GOOD ONE , TOO.
@pfordsq My my childhood faves :)
I like "Friends" very much!!!! :))))
For years , I only knew the version on "Propaganda" , but , this is some serious Post - Punk action. Listen to that insane radio transmitter guitar ! All the pre - fame stuff on "Message" is more like this.
@pfordsq "Propaganda" was such a great album! Never knew a studio version of this track existed!
@Roger Marsh Yeah, how about it? I did'nt know , either , til a friend played it on the radio. the Joe Jackson B-sides on "Propaganda " are really good , too.
It's almost identical to 'Next To You'.
got the 7" record :)
So have I!
All the b-sides were released on the CD box Message in a Box in the 90s. Still available today.
How did you get a hold of this? I don't hear any vinyl crackling, so I'm assuming this is a digital rip. Can't find the song on -any- Police album, not even re-released. Such a shame because it's an awesome song.
was b side to message in a botte
It's available on the "Message in a Box" compilation.
