Pointer Sisters, The - Nightline Lyrics
Every night around midnight
The call comes through
Turning on my night light
'Cause he'll know what to do
Call me on the nightline, alone
Waking me up
Call me on the nightline
Can't get enough
Call me on the nightline
Whisper in my ear
Say me through the pipeline
What I like to hear
Make it person to person
Heart to heart
Darling, your flame
Is sending of sparks
I'll be waiting by the phone, alone
Call me on the nightline
Waking me up
Call me on the nightline
Can't get enough
Call me on the nightline
Whisper in my ear
Say me through the pipeline, baby
What I like to hear
[Instrumental]
Call me on the nightline
Call me on the nightline
Hello, is that you?
Call me on the nightline
Waking me up
Call me on the nightline
Can't get enough
Call me on the nightline
Whisper in my ear

Pointer Sisters, The Nightline Comments
I like Randy Crawford's version the best. It was a minor R&B hit for her in 1984
Michael Jackson's is better
I'm surprised this was a Michael Jackson original but the Pointer Sister did it they sound great I love their version
Originally recorded for the Thriller album back in 1982 but failed to make the cut and was then passed down to the pointer sisters. Still sounds good though!
Ellen Foley recorded this first. I actually like her version better.
No, Michael Jackson did first. Then the Pointer Sisters and THEN Ellen Foley
@RonTron
And then Randy Crawford
Marcus Rob cool
@Marcus Rob wow! Thx for that info
Michael jackson
This version is EVERYTHING - MJ's to me, sounds like the budget version - these are my gals and the band backs them up FABUL
OUSLY! The key changes are everything! Thank you for posting!
Its because the one you find here on youtube is slowed/pitched down and he doesn't speak during the break. I actually remixed his version come give it a listen https://youtu.be/7ZIiOOoLTUU
Your crazy Mike killed it..it took a band to compete
Omg, this song was originally Michael Jackson's demo for it and now it turned into a song by this group. The lyrics are the same, but musically, it's different. This sounds cool, but I love Michael Jackson's version better.
Totally was gonna write the same thing. Really interesting though- love the Pointer Sisters!
