P.O.D. - I Am Lyrics

I am the murderer, the pervert, sick to the core
I am the unclean dope fiend, I am the whore
I am the beat down, mistreated, sexually abused
I have violated, fornicated, and sexually used
I am the con artist, cold hearted, smooth preacher
Cash stealer, emotion bleeder, the soul leecher
Feed off the poor, but I'm a slave to the rich
I'm in depression so this reflection is making me sick

Are you the one that's come to set me free?
Cause if you knew who I am, would you really wanna die for me?
They say you are the cursed man, the one who hangs from this tree
But I know this is the one and only son of god, so tell me, who the fuck is he?

I am fake, fraud, phony, I'm a known liar
Anorexic, rejected object of your desire
Suicidal thoughts keep one in the chamber
I'm a turned out streetwalking heroin banger
I am a secret cutter, porn lover, the town drunkard
Next door, neighborhood slut, I'm somebody's mother
Outcasted, arrogant, bastard son
I'm the talk of the town but this story has just begun

Are you the one that's come to set me free?
Cause if you knew who I am, would you really wanna die for me?
They say you are the cursed man, the one who hangs from this tree
But I know you are the one and only son of god, but tell me, who the fuck is he?

So tell me
So tell me!

And now it's spreading like a deadly disease
And now it's spreading like a deadly disease
And now it's spreading like a deadly disease
But I won't let you bury me!
Woo!

I am
I am what you've reaped, I am what you've sewed
I am that guy talking to himself, I am alone
I'm the forgotten child, ravaged and raped through sex traffic
Since I'm a little strange, my daddy called me a faggot
I am insecure, immature, even I disgust me
In denial, pill poppin', prescription junkie

Are you the one that's come to set me free?
Cause if you knew who I am, would you really wanna die for me?
They say you are the cursed man, the one who hangs from this tree
But I know you are the one and only son of god, but tell me, who the fuck is he?

So tell me

I see demons, eyes bleeding, my soul impure
Already know that I'm diseased, but tell me what's the cure?
This is me, we are him, and I am you
Old things pass away and all becomes new
This is me, we are him, and I am you
Old things pass away and all becomes new
This is me, we are him, and I am you
Old things pass away and all becomes new

I think it would have been more appropriate and made more sense if he would have said "who the hell is he" instead the F word.

This is one of the most powerful songs I’ve ever heard in my life. I’ve been a Christian now for about 16 years. I used to be on drugs as a teen and I was sick in my head with no direction.

This message wasn’t intended for Christians, but it might as well be. The way that you guys are crucifying P.O.D. message in this song is the same way they crucified Jesus Christ on the cross. They were his people who crucified him.

For what, because he healed on the Sabath? Or was it that he was just a Carpenter?

You may have missed Christ’s purpose. To love! I’m not even going to address the cussing because true message is much greater than that.

I cry almost every time I hear this song because it reminds me that we all need Christ and that POD is reaching people that we would never even talk to or be around because of their lifestyle.

POD Thank you for this song! It reminds me to treat people with compassion and love.

    One love....Calvin Thomas

I agree. This song is amazing and powerful. It has made a huge impact on my life as well

  4. L.... B....

They could have portrayed the message they were good ng for without the word wouldn't have been to difficult or different our words speak life and deal h and we are to be set apart it's hard to justify leader ng people to Christ when in the same breath speaking death

  5. V.... ....

Everyone who’s horrified by his use of swearing, keep in mind that it’s not for you. He’s preaching to those living without god, from their own perspective: why would someone who didn’t even know them die for their sins? Why would he want to set them free from the fate that they deserved? Who the f*** is he? They don’t understand the sheer volume of god’s love, and Sonny’s coming to them from their own point of view.

  6. J.... ....

Yea i was deff at a point if rebellion when this came out and sorta fighting my way out of darkness. but this message expresses how far Gods love and mercy goes to bring you back to Him as someone else commented ty Jesus

  7. A.... B....

I'll start by saying I am a strong Christian, spirit filled man n I want to say this. This song is controversial, reasonlessly n i intentionally only listen to the unedited version n this is why. I have personally said to my wife this statement. "When Sonny says f*** he says it in a way that the world can understand, but also get across the point that we're all broken people, and therefore have no right to judge a non-believer's way of life because we don't know their story or what made them who they are today, he says it passionately to get a point across because too many times we push the 'outcast' out the door because of our church-grown self-righteousness that we push off on those who need Christ as much as us, yet we look down on them...'i know that you're the one and only son of God but TELL ME! WHO THE FUCK IS HE?' It's exactly how the world would see this nature of self-righteousness when they seek in their brokenness n yet r turned away, he's speaking for the broken and seeking, using his voice as "their microphone" i have been the people that he speaks of, I AM THE CON ARTIST, THE PERVERT SICK TO THE CORE, I AM THE UNCLEAN, THE BEAT DOWN AND MISTREATED, I HAVE FORNICATED AND SEXUALLY USED, I AM A FRAUD, A FAKE, A PHONY, A KNOWN LIAR, I AM COLD HEARTED, I AM A CASH STEALER, AN EMOTION BLEEDER, I AM A PORN LOVER, I AM THE TOWN DRUNKARD, I AM A PILL POPPING PRESCRIPTION JUNKIE, I AM THE TALK OF THE TOWN, I AM THE OUTCASTED ARROGANT BASTARD SON, I AM WHAT THE CHURCH AND SOCIETY HAVE REAPED AND SOWED, In the course of my life for the majority of it I lived as 80% of what he mentioned, and I grew up in church but walked away because of JUDGEMENTAL HYPOCRITES, now im 31, at a great church and for the most part none of these things any longer, but i relate with so much of this song...Christ first loved me b4 I could ever learn to love him...and if it wasnt for that those past church ppl almost brought me to the point of never returning, but "but he who began a good work in you will stay faithful until the day of completion", we have no right to judge a lost world that needs Christ so bad...so for all of the WHOSOEVERS out there like I was...I know that hes the one and only son of God, but tell me who the FUCK is he? *finger pointing at the hypocritical hyper-critical self-righteous judgemental Christian*, I believe many times cussing is used for a sense of passion, and in a moderate sense, without over-using them (which makes ppl sound un-intelligent) I see no issue. I think that they get a statement across more soundly. I personally dont anymore but thats because of personal convictions, but truth is, we decided certain words in english were swears and there's no reasonable explanation for most, if not all, being such. Not to mention Paul swore at Churches multiple times by ancient linguistic standard. The words and phrases strongly get a point across, but theres no point in saying them without reason. This is the first song Sonny's sworn in, it gets a strong point across, and i find it a shame that to sell this album they had to edit it for Christian book stores to sell it...merely to appease the same self-righteous that its geared toward. God bless u all

  8. R.... L....

I like it . It's so real. I'm not religious I enjoy it

  9. d.... o....

    Two points.

One is that for the weaker believers who are struggling against the language should be accounted for. Being a public believer should note this. In Romans 14 it suggest freedoms to be used not to harm weaker believers. This is on the artist's fault. He needs to be educated on this.

    Second point:
Judging is reserved not only for those who are not sutrgguling with this sin. (Matthew 7:1)
"Dont judge lest you want to be judged yourself".

The next is who are we to judge another man's servant? Romans 14)

    Are we greater than God?

Instead of condemning him, we should see if this man is expressing unhealthy behavior in a Christian light. Only until then do we warn and pray for this bro.

This song only seems to be one out of many God glorifying songs and seems to be an isolated incident. A moral slipping or a period of weakness! Shame on us for being "perfect " with our unneeded expectations! God has called us from darkness.

We should be a testimony for others outside by OUR LOVE. (John 17) Where is the grace? Where is our mercy?

Shouldn't we forgive the immoral brother who is trying?

I do not approve of someone falling who chooses sin constantly yet says they're a brother (1 Corinthians 5)

However, I do not simultaneously agree that someone should doubt the power of the cross thru self depreciation.

Otherwise, this is a moral failure on both of our selves. May God have mercy for us both and He indeed does HAVE mercy for us both.

Forgiveness. May we practice both and now therefore walk in the love, freedom and respect that Christ has given us.

  10. P.... E....

Now THIS really illustrates God's love. Exponentially more than the mainstream Christian music

  11. A.... N....

Thank you so much for uploading this version.Such a FUCKING powerful song by P.O.D

  12. D.... w....

I think "rubbish talk", as the Bible calls it, and within that context, is fruitless talk that is meaningless and that leads to a mindless, depraved lifestyle, sort of what you'd expect to come from buzzfeed, MTV, online porn forums, etc., all that nothingness talk. I'd say Sonny's message here is FAR FROM fruitless talking—even with cuss words and all. Sonny wrote some hard-hitting lyrics here that potentially changed a lot of people's lives within the short course of just five minutes. This is talk that builds up, not talk that tears down. If you can do that, then I don't care what vocabulary you use, all I hear is the incredible love of Jesus; and that's what God cares about. Did God ask you to go around nitpicking people's choice of adjectives, as if we are "perfectionist nazi's" (a lá, grammar nazis)—despite when those adjectives were spoken in a context of a Love which so few have the guts to speak publicly of. All God asks of us is to grow in the Father's love, and help others find that love. This song does precisely that. However if you believe it's fruitful to flaunt your perfect thoughts to others, then be my guest, although I think you're only deceiving yourself.

  13. S.... ....

does anyone know how i can get this version of the song?

  15. D.... J....

I'm not perfect... That bein said, if youre representing the gospel of Jesus then you must represent with a good example. Jesus hung out with sinners but he didnt act like them or talk like them... We cant be the light in the world talking like them. You can agree or diagree but at the end of the day I know I dont see Jesus saying these words.

  16. S.... ....

Hearing this unedited version with clear lyrics is powerful and gets me in the heart. This embodies who Jesus died for. This embodies me. And I am humbled that God takes all of our shaking our fist at Him, cursings, rage, idiosyncrasies, faults and simply answers us back in love. Powerful!

all the Christians up in arms about this song, cool this song wasn't written for you. touring with bands where your church service wouldn't be, this is written for the lost with that same question. sonny is meeting them where they are at. if we all had to be living the Christian life to walk into a church, that building would be empty.

    S.... B....

Yeah we get it but no need to drop f bomb. Not necessary. Pod fan since the 90s. Seen them live 5 or 6 times

    S.... B....

@Tim Jones you're missing the forest and concentrating on the trees. This song was written from the unbeliever point of view. If you're concerned about an f-bomb, how do you talk to nonbelievers? Do you make them control their speech? Or should I say, do you control their speech?

    S.... B....

Stephen Barkley Christian here... only people with weak faith or immature life experience is offended by cussing... and maybe childhood moms... I’ll probably be more sensitive when i become a mom hahaha 😂

    G.... G....

    The commenters.

  25. T.... R....

Here's the verse where Paul talks about being the Chief of Sinners (among whom I am foremost of all). This is a great, straight to the point message in this song. Personally could've done without the "f" word, but I do understand why it's in the song.

It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost of all. Yet for this reason I found mercy, so that in me as the foremost, Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life.

This track is SICK. It's so raw, honest and REAL and I think God would prefer that over white washed tombs. Some are missing the forest for the trees. 27. M.... K....

I've been a p.o.d. fan since 2001 (since satellite) theses guy rock n I really like the messages in there songs I was raised catholic but as years passed I lost my faith but didn't quit listening to these guys who gives a "fuck" if they be cussing in this song this song is probably the most powerful song they've ever done hands down n this is by far the best song on the album cause they finally opened up in a lot of there songs it always sounds they're about to cuss n sonny has explained the meaning behind this song MANY times so at the end of the day who really gives a fuck??

  28. J.... G....

seems everyone missed the point. He's speaking as a nonbeliever get it now? Jesus Loves everyone and up until the world ends everyone can still be saved. The worst of the worst are also loved in God's eyes. the world will any second so tell everyone to think about they're souls and say it in Love.

  29. S.... ....

i really don't understand why people are complaining about the f word

  30. H.... I....

This is a great song but putting an F bomb in a christian song is a huge disrespect to the Lord.
You can't preach using sin as a tool.
    That was totally unnecessary.
We're all sinners, I cuss all the time but I would never dare to cuss in church or in a personal prayer, I know it's wrong.

    H.... I....

Hey! It's Me! so when your not in church it's not as bad to cuss? God is everywhere. you can't hide from him. and we are holy in God's eyes not sinners. by holding on to the identity of a sinner is saying that the work of Adam was greater than the work of Christ.

    H.... I....

yeah but we need to repent and change our ways to be forgiven.
If not even murderers will go to heaven.

    H.... I....

Hey! It's Me! when Christ raised Lazarus from the dead did Christ first yell to him, "you have to believe, ask for for forgivness and repent before i raise you from the dead."? no, HE WAS DEAD! So then why did Christ preform these miracles? because he loves us. the Apostle Paul even said that God still loved him while they were enemies IN HIS MIND. your mind is the only thing that separates you from God. it is impossible to escape the love of God. Hebrews 8:12 says for your sins and wickedness I will remember no more. sin is what i call "misidentification." our identity is no longer sin. our identity is in Christ. we are made in His image. Every breath we take we say His name Yahweh (breath of air). we are in His bloodline. the good news is that we have already been accepted by the one true God regardless of how we view ourselves. I like to ask people that if hell did not exist would you still love God? you will be surprised how many people love God out of fear. fear of going to hell. a lot of people in the church practice being more like the Pharisees then understanding the love of Christ. it is the love of Christ I truly frees us all. if you research how much God loves you, the desires of your heart changes without effort.

    H.... I....

That's bull brotha. He's being artistic and using his roots to get the message across to those who might be in the same situation he was once in. And if you can't understand that plz keep it to yourself

  31. R.... D....

i liken this song to the scripture, when demons are trying to be cast out with the wrong method. i think it goes something like...peter and Jesus i know, but who are you(demon speaking)?. someone will correct me for sure and that's fine. i don't have my bible in front of me. if the f bomb would have been around then, the demon would have used it!. thoughts and opinions welcome.

  32. D.... B....

I understand why he used the F word but why couldn't it be bleeped out like Derek Minor did on "Homecoming"... Same emotion.

    D.... B....

What version of Homecoming have you been listening to? Or any other Fort Minor song for that matter?

    D.... B....

+Randy Johnson Derek Minor, not Fort Minor.

  33. k.... -....

Thanks for uploading this. When I first heard the album, the censoring stuck out like a sore thumb. It completely undermined the intensity, perspective and overall message of the song.

  34. C.... L....

This is a deep, meaningful song by an awesome band & an incredible song writer - they are too edgy for mainstream Christian acceptance & support yet not too far gone to be welcomed by the secular world  I love these guys & this song is a great demonstration of their dedication to reaching the lost, conveying their feelings & living on the edge of sin, which we all do daily, regardless of our perception.  Jah Jah ride on brothers, keep the FAITH rocking like you have for 20 yrs!  I'll see you in Pinellas Park on 01/25!

    C.... L....

    Well said.

  35. R.... C....

What is the fucking problem with the word fuck? It's just a word, I am an Adventist and I say fuck all the fucking time. You can say "bad words" all the time because there is nothing wrong with them.
        P.O.D is a great band

    R.... C....

+Victor Viana I know that. But we are all sinners. The only sin that is not forgiven is to ignore the Holy Spirit. When I pray never ask God to forgive me for my sins, which are hate and say "bad words" that's because, really, I do not regret those sins. And I do not want God to give me the strength to repent of those sins. Never lied to God in prayer that I regret telling these two sins. And never will.
I love God, and always try to follow him, I do not think he cares much about those two sins. The only thing we have to do to be with, is to tell the truth through prayer, study his word, and be baptized.

Sorry for my English, I'm from Argentina.
       Cheers

    R.... C....

+Victor Viana I'm a danger to society. I have an open mind about things. For example, I think humans should be naked all the time. Maybe for most people it sounds like something bad or disgusting. But I think that way. Same with the issue of bad words.
Another example is that of bullying. When a person says something is always giving an opinion on something or someone, say for example when a person tells another fat, and this person feels bad. The person who says fat is giving an opinion about the other person. And if you try to silence the person who said fat, that would be a case of censorship to a person who is giving his opinion. Obviously, the person who told the other fat seems to me a piece of shit. But I do not think that the bullying must be stopped silencing the damn person. The bullying must be stopped by the one who receives it, talking or kicking the ass of the other person. I mean, I have offended people who deserved to be offended, but that person should defend. And if the person can not defend himself, the person should find a way not to hear the opinions of stupid people. For me, people who discriminate sucks, but for other people are geniuses.

    Again, sorry for my English.
    Cheers

    R.... C....

Galera todos nós somos brasileiros, why are you having an argument in english?

What do we think God struggles with more?
One of His people using a word? Which I still struggle to find where this is a sin, please point me in the right direction if I am wrong.
Or, His people judging that person for using the word? IF it is a sin, and you are without sin, throw the first stone.

Matt Price the sin in cussing is found in how it offends others or is used to insult and used in anger bc it isnt “let your yes be yes and no be no” it is using words inappropriately out of context. It also works on the same part of your brain where we perceive danger in our hunter gathering days... but... this is different for everyone and depends on situations and circumstances. I am personally not offended by it ... i feel bad for ppl who are bc its everyday everywhere. When i grew up no cussing on tv except damn and hell... now it’s literally every word ever... sooo yeah

I shouldn't say the last 3 albums...Murdered Love has some good songs and Angles does also....I'm not hating at all lol Just don't like the soft stuff they've been leanin towards and the guitar sound in general is much different then it was in the past...I still love P.O.D. and most likely always will enjoy their music

Pods latest just isn't that good

  40. R.... H....

Isn't cussing ok, and it is the lords name you can't take in vain?

    R.... H....

@MYM There is nothing obscene about the words buttocks or ass. The bible has nothing to say about this what so ever. Even Ephesians 4:29 pas logos sapros(any bad word) is not implying that a single word can in and of itself be bad. If replying to the bee sting example I said 'fuck, that must have hurt' all I have done is add emphasis. The statement didn't magically become bad or obscene.

It is the intended meaning that is to be judged. Stop supporting false doctrines. You must know they are referred to as doctrines of demons. <<- This is not something you should be considering "stupid".

    R.... H....

@Noniksleft Sorry, I didn't mean to say "stupid" I meant trivial. As in, it doesn't really matter either way.

    R.... H....

@MYM Supporting 'doctrines of demons' is trivial to you? ok then

    R.... H....

@Noniksleft Its not a doctrine of demons. It is pretty common in the southern baptist community to believe in not saying curse words. Sorry if the Bible offends you, but its the truth. If it says it obviously in the bible, Its not my fault you cannot see it. Good day.

    R.... H....

    @MYM

@Jebust Christ john 7:24 judge rightously, not by appearance   corinthians   judge within.

    D.... W....

+Darren Withers  There are stupider messages to listen to in stupider songs.  I was going to listen to Limp Bizkit, but fired up POD instead.  I like both, but even you have to admit POD offers a better message than "straight up taggin and banging chicks."  I'm a Christian, and I'll listen to Limp Bizkit some other day, but today I heard something more meaningful.

    D.... W....

@RUZTY1311 Christ is perfect he's a sinless man

  42. C.... M....

the lyrics to this song are so real its crazy.

  43. F.... D....

I'm not going to lie. "I Am" is one of their best songs when it comes to its artful way of getting these emotions across. Great sound too! I don't even advocate cussing but hey I'm not completely innocent of that either.

  44. A.... ....

I really wish they hadn't edited it out, because it implies they were ashamed of saying it.

    A.... ....

I agree they shouldn't have edited it out, but they did it so their long time Bible-thumping fans wouldn't freak out. I am a Christian and I love POD to death, but this is my favorite song by them. People just focus on them using "Fuck" in their song and not what the meaning of the song is. It is very appropriate for the tone of the song and it's not like they're overusing it in every song like other bands do.

    A.... ....

The difference is their  fans know that they are passionate about human rights and are vocal about it. It isn't like this is Newsboys

  45. R.... W....

How'd you get the uncensored version? did you figure out a way to reverse the bit so it came out properly? If not, can I download it? I am gonna buy the album, but don't want the alteration to the track.

    R.... W....

You can download it by typing ss just before youtube at the top of the window. like www . ssyoutube. com. I put spaces because I didn't want to make an actual link. Cheers.

  46. J.... T....

Personally, the lyrics are the most raw P.O.D. has in their entire catalog...
I appreciate the edgy nature because Sonny is explaining this from the perspective of a broken person which is uplifting and also expands on the universality of the band and the message they bring.

I never thought I'd hear an F word on a P.O.D. song but once again, it makes everything much more relatable and thus, depth reaches a new unseen height!

  47. B.... T....

love this tune!!!!! and all the religious folks can just  understand ..... question the preacher of your church.... the word "Fuck" don't send you to hell.... He is speaking to people... "I am all things to people that they might be saved"....

    B.... T....

    You got it bro!

    B.... T....

Exactly right! In Philippians 3:8, the word Rubbish or Garbage comes from a Greek word equal to "Shit".
Yes, Paul said shit; he was trying to convey REALLY strongly that everything else he has besides knowing Jesus is complete and utter... well... shit!

What I say we can learn from it is this: use language SELDOMLY and most importantly, INTELLIGENTLY, like Paul.

(And people try to disprove this, saying "that word was used alot in plays and literature, so it wasnt a cuss word".
By this logic, someone in the future studying ancient English could say "shit" isnt a cuss word because it was used frequently in movies and literature.)

  48. F.... H....

We are in the world but not of the world... I think this goes too far sorry.. Hate all you want.

    F.... H....

@alexhuth again I get the point I'm a touring musician and recording artist, I've written songs from the points of other people, My band plays with secular bands I have athiest friends, friends who were drug dealers etc. I understand they are speaking from their point of view I just thought using the f word was too far that's all I'm saying O.O

    F.... H....

What do you expect from a band who is a bunch of self hating dip shits? Some people do Christian music because that's what their heart led them to do, and that's great, but POD does it because it's a niche and they found the perfect balance of being "religious" and doing whatever they want to appeal to people from all walks of life. Jesus sells records and they know it.

    F.... H....

@MattTheMageofRage You're an idiot. They are active Christians in everything that they do. They constantly do things with other Christian bands and many other things for that matter. Follow them on Instagram or Facebook. Or join The Whosoevers. Such an ignorant fucking comment.

    F.... H....

@Casey Price Not sure @Alex Huth why you rippin on his opinion? I respect it and it's interesting to see who thinks its too far and who thinks it's acceptable. Casey isn't lost no need for name callin. I respect Sonny's boldness in this song. I myself am not sure if I like him using the word or not. It's interesting, kinda neat how he used it. Pushing the boundaries and limits normally people see in these kind of bands. Idk.

    F.... H....

Casey I'm just curious as to why you feel that the word fuck is such an awful word for Christians to use?
    #IamBarabbas

  49. J.... S....

I'm gonna act like I never heard this song:/

  50. H.... O....

You can tell they were keen on using that word in a song for a long time lol.

  51. l.... ....

This song rather well captures the sentiment of the rage of our sinful flesh in its encounter with God. The sense of both worthlessness and rebellion that is the encounter with Holiness. In Lutheran thought there is discussed both the naked God and the clothed God. The "naked God" is God in His unmediated, terrifying, raw, holiness and glory, it's what the Israelites experienced at Sinai when they retreated in fear and begged Moses instead to speak on God's behalf. It is a terrifying thing for sinful man to encounter the holy God. The "clothed God" is God as He would present Himself to us, He is clothed because He is clothed in the Person of Jesus Christ, and in Christ--and Christ alone--we encounter the mercy, the love, the kindness of God. The God whose way of engaging with a sinful world is to be nailed to a cross and bear the suffering and burden--to become the worthlessness that we see ourselves as, and to be the victim of our open rebellion against God.

By the Cross God takes hold of the world in its rage and rebellion, and makes it brand new in the Risen Jesus. The new world begins on Easter morning in Jesus, it is there that we encounter it as grace, promise--Gospel, which we receive by faith. And only at the end, at the restoration of all things, the resurrection of the dead, that we see the newness of the world with our own eyes, even as the Apocalypse of St. John says, "Behold, I make all things new." It is grace and love that will overcome the rage of our sinful flesh and adopt these broken clay vessels as sons and daughters, to be clothed with the spotless white robes of Christ and His righteousness. To have upon us the Holiness and Righteousness of God, as a gift, received freely, apart from ourselves.

lordbacon77 THANK YOU FOR THIS BEAUTIFUL PICTURE

  52. l.... s....

meaning of the song no matter how much you think you've fallen your never to far for his arms to pull you to him

  53. 2.... ....

If you're religious and get mad over a cuss word in a song I have 2 words for you: Grow up.

    2.... ....

also, this song is meant to be from the world talking to god. yes, Sonny is a christian, and so am i. he is NOT saying it. The world is if you get what i am saying

  54. s.... ....

was there a sensored version of this album cause i didnt get this song in my copy of this album?

    s.... ....

"An edited version of the album omitting track 11 ("I Am") was released to Christian stores. The purpose behind the censorship is the song itself contains the word 'fuck', which is bleeped out even on the uncensored version."
    -Wikipedia

  55. S.... J....

Lyrically one their best & one of my favourite songs of pod. Has so much meaning to it & is very powerful to Christians & non christians

  56. D.... N....

Like the song but im not really use to hearing p.o.d. saying the F bomb and been a fan since there snuff the punk album came out.

    D.... N....

What they are doing in this song is taking the voice of all the broken people of the world. It kinda makes sense, and when I first herd it I was like what the check!? But then I thought about it and it makes sense

    D.... N....

Agree , it still a good song and a good msg

    D.... N....

i wish he would of said "who the hell is he"

  57. W.... M....

If there is a Christian here that has never used a curse word, may throw the first stone. BITCH!

    W.... M....

Yea, its true, most people cuss, even Christian a lot of the time. Thats true. But swearing shows whats inside a person. It shows many levels of immaturity, and the Bible does say let no unclean thing come out of your mouth. Just because you cuss doesn't mean your not a Christian, but it does mean that you need to evaluate your relationship with God.

    W.... M....

Biovox13 that could be true, I look at it as an artistic way of expressing yourself. As we all know the big F can be used in many different was to emphasize the point your trying to get across. but if you use slanderous words in a hateful way...now we're beyond words and in the category of checking your heart. We know that God looks at our heart and words branch off from that.

    W.... M....

@Wiggy McCrackin Yes I agree, swearing isn't bad in context. Depending on the way its being used, its not really a problem. In this song, it could actually be used in a good way, its just that  a lot of people don't really see it that way and only see the word, not the songs or why its being used.

    W.... M....

Wiggy McCrackin there definitely hasn't been one as corny as you.

  58. T.... ....

Didn't Sonny say it's okay for Christians so swear sometimes. It expresses and proves a point sometimes. At least it's not over done here.

    T.... ....

    Thats exactly true man

    T.... ....

I agree! As I told someone above: In Philippians 3:8, the word Rubbish or Garbage comes from a Greek word equal to "Shit".

  59. v.... ....

He says "I wont let you burry me" to the fake christians or to the ones who come in the name of the Lord as wolves in sheep clothes, if I understand it right. That's the question. I know you are the Son of God, but who the ... is he (the fake one).

  60. F.... ....

Sounds kind of like Rage Against The Machine to me. Nothing wrong with that at all, i'm a fan of both bands.

  61. C.... M....

I am totally with him saying fuck. It nessisary to get the FULL message across. I really wish that people would past the fact that it's "A bad word". Grow up seriously people.

    C.... M....

    Caleb Medrano Eph 4:29

    C.... M....

Exactly. The word "fuck" isn't offensive; it's the condescending Christian bullshit that's really obscene.

  62. S.... B....

You're bloody right, saying the words man call bad words is not a sin. They are just vocabulary words. The things that truly are sins of the tongue are lying, cursing (which is wishing harm to come to someone), swearing (which is saying I swear to do something or I swear I won't do something), and blasphemy (which is saying like OMG, GD, Lord, and JC in an empty and irreverent way).

  63. r.... ....

this has become one of my favorite P.O.D. songs of all time

  64. l.... m....

P.o.d is amazing! Im a Christian as they are and I appreciate the point of view of this song

  65. G.... ....

Let me paraphrase Tony Campolo..."while you were sleeping last night, 30,000 kids died of starvation or diseases related to malnutrition...most of you don’t give a fuck. What’s worse is that you’re more upset with the fact that I said "fuck" than the fact that 30,000 kids died last night." So sad...

  66. L.... m....

    This song is awesome

  67. K.... M....

Why is everybody so upset? All that matters is the message. Who cares if he said fuck? There would be no difference between him saying fuck or heck, except four letters changed, it would still mean the same thing. I'm a christian and I believe that the way he used fuck is not sinful. Its just slang. Doesnt mean anything. Its worse to call someone an idiot than to say "who the fuck is he", according to what I understand from the Bible. Maybe you should actually look into things people tell you i

  68. m.... ....

"So, when the lyric asks, "Who the bleep is he?", is that a reference to the devil?"

"No. It's about my own confusion about what's competing for my attention. It's not Jesus. It's the confusion of everything else—the confusion of religion, the confusion of the church, even Christianity itself. I'm saying, "If you're Jesus, I believe in you. But who the F is he? Who is everybody else that's standing in the way of me just seeing Jesus?"" - Sonny

interesting! it's not even asking who Jesus is...

  69. F.... O....

Why is he sayong "i wont let you burry me"?

  70. J.... V....

I met sonny the other day and interviewed him for my radio show and I asked him why he thought it was appropriate........ His answer was incredible I will post a link when the show airs...... In the mean time to all those people moaning about it, I promise you're not doing half of what their doing to try and reach a generation lost and confused with life

  71. J.... C....

thats so true. even ive heard people say that as well. and the songs so darn true to. it does not matter if your a chrstian or not, this song can hit home either way.

  72. C.... A....

I agree totally. I personally am a Christian and believe that they spoke the way they did because they were portraying as though they are these people they are describing in the song. In real life the people who are raped, abused, or who rape and abuse others or do/sell drugs they don't use nice language they don't care what anyone thinks and i have personally heard people ask "Who The Fuck Is He?" refurring to Jesus Christ. People of all types need to hear this song!

  73. C.... N....

The song is great, I was super bummed when they cussed, but I learned that they preyed about if and took it off the album.

  74. J.... C....

What an amazing song. If you wanna get the point across to a group of pill poppers or people who have gon thrue some hard times majorly then well you have to speak their language. I am not a christian myself but I can respect this bands views, and I don't care what anyone says I love the chorus. what a wonderful song. so what if it says fuck you have to speak these kids languages.

  75. s.... ....

People always missing the point of what the song is about; the last few verses of the lyrics say it best; "This is me, we are Him, and I am you... Old things pass away, and all becomes new."

  76. E.... r....

by far 1 of the best from sunny!

  77. A.... P....

I really hate how people are bashing om this song for the using the F word. I mean come on, it's about the message not some simple curse word.

  78. c.... ....

This song will one do 2 things: 1) it will either break you and you lose self control, or 2) it will break you and bring you closer to God, and I pray that it does the second because I am a believer trying to grow in my faith, yes it's working on me, Praise God! Not honoring God? I believe it is in fact doing what it's meant to do and I wouldn't trade it for the world.

  79. R.... K....

This is POD! Just saying what the fuck is on everyone's mind. Love eeeeeett!

  80. M.... N....

Sounds way better. You say it when you sing it to yourself anyway.

  81. T.... B....

Rough times call for rough language haha.

  82. E.... r....

    sunny is the man!

  83. K.... ....

That's what makes this song. First song of faith that uses the F word with validity.

  84. E.... B....

    Well. I get the message.

But the song would of done ok without the F-Word.

  85. J.... S....

I was in a christian bookstore in S.D. California and a lady was trash talking P.O.D. for saying the F word.
