Poco - Sagebrush Serenade Lyrics

You and I counting, desert stars and,
Lovers, one by one.
While mandolins and steel guitars,
Help our love along.
Who could show you, ever know you,
Fall into my dream.
Turn around and, them you are in
cowboy boots and faded jeans.

It's a sagebrush serenade
It's a sagebrush serenade
It's a Sagebrush serenade

All around us, it surrounds us, harmony is
In the air.
We could lose our hearts tonight and
Never even care.

It's a sagebrush serenade, sagebrush
We dance the night away, while
the guitars play
We'll blow your sails away, we got it made

  6. P.... N....

I used to turn the stereo up to 10!

  7. S.... W....

Poco was in Charlotte, N.C. at The Neighborhood Theatre maybe seven yrs. ago and some friends and I went. I am so glad that we did. That was the type of music in the seventies that nI really loved then and now!

  8. A.... G....

Thanks for all the Poco. If by chance you have Susannah could you download that too ?

+klaus thiel Their was a time in the late 90's when they released all of Poco's LP's on CD, I have this LP on CD ?

  11. G.... M....

    Che bei ricordi

    G.... M....

Scusa il ritardo Gaetano....hai ragione nn torneranno più però ci sn i dischi ...e nn passa giorno che li ascolto

  12. R.... B....

I played this song for a musician friend of mine and he says there is a complex harmony in this song. Can someone please explain he tried and i did not get it LOL

    R.... B....

+Rocky B - It's hard to nail down the definition. You either get it or you don't. In monotone the sound is so complex that it tends to sound samey to the ear, which can't appreciate all the complexity happening. How can you hear all of the individual voices, singing at the same key (variably), and recognize them individually. That's complex. Simply put - it's f'ing artistic ability for every individual to stand out, even though they are in total harmony. With that in mind, experience it on a premium sound system and you will understand the message.

    R.... B....

+Tx18Wheels I guess LOL this is such a gem of a song, i have Poco Seven on Cd coming in the mail. My last Poco cd to get is Cantamos and it is the most expensive. The Wounded Bird Issue costs a fortune.

  13. J.... M....

Cantamos is one of the best records ever made. Thank you guys of Poco.

  14. J.... O....

    Rusty Kickin Ass

  15. G.... R....

Memories of my youth... love it amazingly.

    G.... R....

    Greg Richardson

Timothy's unique voice was an integral part of this band's sound. A great country-rock song here. Long live that sound from the 70's.
Crazy Eyes was their Swan Song. IMHO.
The perfect musical statement from the band.
Poco will never be better than on that LP.

    s.... e....

    👍👍👍

  17. m.... b....

    You and  I...lovers one by one . !!! it's a sagebrush serenade .....

  18. D.... M....

WTH.. One dislike, someone needs a little musical redemption. Tight harmonies and killer musicianship. Poco put out nothing but great music, and still keep churnin.

  19. c.... ....

    Big finish....

  20. r.... ....

I listen to Poco for the same reason I like Metal - Great musicianship, compelling stories all wrapped in a rather epic package. There are a few definitions of Heavy, there is the one about being loud and distorted, then there is the one exemplified by Sabbath's often classical sounding instrumentals - Poco is the latter heavy.

  21. p.... ....

I wish Rusty Young would have sang more songs that he wroto for this album. This is the best POCO album that I have heard.

  22. T.... ....

I'm 57 and this song is ingrained in my brain...at the time this LP came out, the world was right and the center of my Universe was my phonograph in my room in Tulsa. Sing it to me Timothy, sing it. I played that old Epiphone 6 strg like crazy to this and Panama Red. ;)
THANK YOU for posting this, I too have searched for it on YT, I wanted a version I could put on a CD. XOXOX

  23. m.... a....

  26. m.... a....

can you post flying solo please?

  27. A.... D....

I've been a Poco fan since my teens, but didn't know this song... Thanks for uploading. I marvel at how much music i still can discover from my most beloved bands and artists... I never feel I need to know "new" music, really.

  28. m.... a....

why is because folks have popularized the likes of Britney spears and Justin bieber and others of their ilk in lieu of musically gifted artists like poco...... beyond compare......

  29. m.... a....

please post up flying solo is what I mean...thanks pals.....

  30. m.... a....

could you maybe out flying solo up please?

  31. s.... ....

Don't forget banjo and dobro by Rusty. He's the best...

  32. O.... N....

    I heard Poco,s music from 1974 (T. B. Schmidt - The Eagles)

  33. b.... ....

I think Poco should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! They helped to pioneer this great country-rock that many great groups would adapt! Album sales should not be the major factor, but skill, and ingenuity should be more of a factor!! Sincerely, BobbyK

  34. w.... ....

First time hearing this. Loved it. Thanx for posting this.

  35. C.... -....

Fantástico, hacía 20 años que no escuchaba esta canción del album CANTAMOS.

  38. G.... W....

I love Poco and this song really shoes their great talent! Thank You for letting me and my friends hear it! They all love it too!

  39. n.... r....

Once had this LP for a few weeks, a friend of mine borrowed it, I think you can guess the rest of the story.....

  40. n.... r....

I'm trying to find 'Western Waterloo'(best song on Cantamos) on youtube, howcome it's not there?

  41. n.... r....

Where I come from(The Netherlands) it was always hard or impossible to find this LP. There were all kinds of Poco-albums except for Cantamos

  42. b.... ....

This is one of my favorite Poco songs! Poco pioneered the country rock/bluegrass sound for the most part!!! BobbyK Poco was always one of my favorite bands! They definitely deserved the acclaim and popularity the Eagles did! This whole album is a precious gem! Thanks for posting it! God bless all! BobbyK

  51. V.... ....

I bough this album, a life ago and when I played the first song I felt amazad and mesmerized on the floor. T'was hard then in Italy to listen to real country rock, but this was damnded straigh country rock like I never heard before !

  52. J.... B....

only 8 people remember this song????come on

  53. k.... ....

This band was the Pink Floyd of Country Rock.
Pioneers of the genre, Poco remains un apreciated for their amazing
blending of Country Soul Rock and anything else they felt like doing
With heart conviction and a real sence of what was going on in the world around them back in the Seventies.
