Poco - Just For Me And You Lyrics
Mmm, wish that I could come
With the mornin' sun
Shinin' through your window
I could be the one
To open up your day
Feelings that are hidden in
In such a special way
And they're just for me and you
Night time comes searchin' blindly
Been needin' some lovin' and I find me
Followin' my heart back to you
Mmm, how it reminds me
That I need no other lover
This feelin' is like no other
Let this song be another
That's just for me and you
So let my heart go on a-singin'
Yeah, let my song go on a-bringin'
To you lovin' that you know is
In my heart and clingin'
To days that passed on by
Need we stop, though, to wonder why
You know I love you, baby
And the tears in my eyes
Are just for me and you
Yes, they are
Mmm

Poco Just For Me And You Comments
Timothy B. Schmit #likeanangel <3 Best years of Poco.
Love them. Seen this line up many times. They did a great live show
Amazing,!
Thank you!!
Love this song ❤
I love Poco legacy but I don't care for the rest that went to slow country. I wish they would have stayed rock and roll/country. I love that sound.
Beautiful track. Great melody
Yea POCO !
The Eagles may have had the success but these guys had the heart and soul.
2 members of the Eagles came from them.
So let's see. Eagles are done. Jim Messina touring solo and releasing a live album with Rusty. Hmmmmmm..........
A most underrated group. They actually never made it on the commercial billboards scene, which ironically suits me fine. History often gives the like credit as times go by. Glad to have a vinyl collection of almost all their music I am listening to it time to time and really love it! Commercial success is not at all synonymous with quality!!! After a long career with ups and (mostly) downs and tumultous memberships they still hold on to their integrity of sound.
Poco is more Country-Rock then the Eagles were........Michigan anybody? (Frey)
Saw these guys play, beautiful!
"The old days when country dudes were in rock bands." - As opposed to today when all the weak rock dudes play in crummy country bands!
I agree. I was kind of pissed when Tim joined the Eagles. They were so mediocre. I guess he had to go where the money was.
The irony is after Timothy left, Poco had the biggest hits of their career up to that point with "Heart of the Night" and "Crazy Love"!
It was a trade like in baseball. Poco traded its veteran bassist Timothy B. Schmidt to the Eagles in exchanged for its veteran bassist Randy Meissner. lol
It's a shame this lineup never reached the commercial success they deserved.
Boy did the Eagles rip these guys off, I'm aware of the links between the two bands but still....
...and stole their bass player...
Then after success, the Eagles shucked their country flavor, jettisoned Bernie Leadon for the hard rock of Walsh, and went on to top star status while POCO was relegated to cult status. Doesn't seem fair.
I saw Poco a little later on in '72 and they were just scary, scary good. IMO, the greatest country-rock band ever. Thanks for posting this.
Where is the gain
The old days when country dudes were in rock bands. I love it!
great post. I have been a Poco fan since "Pickin' Up The Pieces." Thank you for this.
