Plant, Robert - Gone, Gone, Gone (Done Moved On) Lyrics

Some sunny day-hay baby
When everything seems okay, baby
Youll wake up and find out youre alone
Cause Ill be gone
Gone, gone, gone really gone
Gone, ga-gone, cause you done me wrong

Everyone that you meet baby
As you walk down the street baby
Will ask you why youre walkin all alone
Why youre on your own
Just say Im gone
Gone, gone, gone
Gone, ga-gone, cause you done me wrong

If you change your way baby
You might get me to stay baby
Ya better hurry up if ya dont wanna be alone
Or Ill be gone
Gone, gone, gone
Really gone
Gone, Ga-gone
Cause you done me wrong

  3. Lisa Weaver

I know what Robert Plant has years to an industry has gone through. It's no been a pretty picture always.

  4. Mark Stanley

Last time I saw Plant w/Led Zep was @ Tampa Stadium in '73...he's sure moved on...still singing great & w/my favorite songbird...soooo godd together...he still has some moves!!!

  5. Marie Shanahan

    These two are fantastic!😍👍😀😳

  6. Lil' Dee

    I love this song

  7. Jim Southern

This was a Top 40 hit for the famed Everly Brothers back in late 1964. Their version is in my own personal Top 10. I do admit that this Plant/Krauss take does it justice and is a fun listen

  8. DEBBIE L

    LOVE!!LOVE!

  9. 69adrummer

    Alison...please marry me....and let's have like, 20 babies.....damn.........xoxoxo............smart, talented, beautiful, sexy.....damn....

  10. Sandra

    Love love love

  11. Mark Ganus

this is the sort of song you think you have heard it once a long time ago but can't quite pinpoint the precise moment in the past. a mystery like life itself. and why Led Zeppelin and Robert Plant are on the level of legends.

    AnnHattieAnn

Everly Brothers .... check it. xoxo

  12. Lil' Dee

I wish Led Zeppelin went on world tour

  13. Kenneth William Elkington

    Simple, straight-up boogie-woogie rock n' roll... old-school reverb-kicks, done to perfection!

  14. Lou Curelop

Sounds like an Elvis Song! Love this! :)

    White Tigress

Hi Lou: I agree. This is one of slickest things I've ever heard in my life.

    Kenneth William Elkington

Um... i seem to remember a couple of early rock n' roll icons by the name of Don and Phil... aka, the Everly Brothers:) Now they could harmonize... .

    Claudia Caluseriu

Kenneth William Elkington I listen to the songs of The Everlys. I like this cover but the original is the best.
Don and Phil had o lot of great songs but I don't know why they hadn''t the success they deserved.

  15. Wesley Schlenker

I think its kinda crazy that Robert Plant's voice isn't shot yet from all the years of performing, smoking, and drugs. Brazy.

    Nathan Taylor

You can make anyone sound good in a recording studio.

    EyeDee

Nathan Taylor that’s a nonsense comment. I saw him live a few months ago and he was spot on.

  16. andyinoregon

T-Bone Burnett's studio production is perfection!

  17. Richard Smith

To Robert Paradis:  What's wrong with being over 70(your blog of 1 yr ago)?  I am 75 and I still can't sing.  Ha Ha.

I wish I had never heard this...It's so fucking good I literally have it in my head for days. The melody is like herpes, there's no escape.

    cloudzinmyize

Well now that you went and ruined it with the Herpes. Geeze, hate when that happens.

    Edward Harley

    That driving guitar !!! T-Bone !!!!

  22. Jeni Baia

+JonBenait06 That's really how it came about? I knew Robert admired Hendrix...

    Bruce Wettin

    Masterpiece t bone burnett too

    jess c

I know right?! I saw it in the record store when it first came out and I was like "NU-UH!!!" I didn't know what a big Bluegrass nerd Robert Plant was at the time. And this was after the time when people, including myself, spent money on CDs in the store, esp. not brand new ones, but I bought that sh*t. Knew it was gonna be brilliant. It definitely surpassed my expectations. Best money I ever spent.

  29. Kevin Taylor

    There I was GONE!

    +Celine StClair 67

  37. Joe Wilberding

Man do I wish zeppelin was still around

  38. Pamela Stewart

I usually don't like country music but this is cool

    jg300ascout1

This is more Rockabilly/Bo Diddley than "country". Originally by the Everly Brothers, who wrote it.

    Pamela Stewart

    @jg300ascout1 I wouldn't call it rockabilly I'm thinking it's more bluegrass?

    Pamela Stewart

@jg300ascout1 and yes I knew who wrote the original song thank you. ....

    Claudia Caluseriu

Pamela Stewart +The Everlys Brothers wrote the song.

  39. cassieurbanymusic

  41. Tomas Lomm

    Music is bordercrossing.......

  42. Tomas Lomm

    what a mix....hardrocksinger and a countryartist....sooooo good.....just love it......

    qohen

Led zeppelin was CHOCKFULL of american folk style. and she is bluegrass. so you can see why they chose to collaborate

    srujan00

Plant was originally more of a blues singer. He emulated John Estes, Robert Johnson, and Willie Dixon. Page was the one who was really into American bluegrass.

  43. Knickle Films

    groovy :]

  44. James Hurt

He can really sing and the harmonies are great ! Love it !!

  45. Shirley Mcdaniel

  46. stephenc4161

    yeh quality thanks

  47. AnnHattieAnn

Crazy as it sounds, this song led me back in time, through Robert Plant's career ... solo, then back to the Zeppelin days ... rendering me an LZ fan at the ripe old age of 60! XD Frankly, I don't know what I'd do without good music in my life. Thanks a mil' for the (quality) post, rounderrecords.
