Placebo - I Know Lyrics
I know, you love the song but not the singer
I know, you've got me wrapped around your finger
I know, you want the sin without the sinner
I know
I know
I know, the past will catch you up as you run faster
I know, the last in line is always called a bastard
I know, the past will catch you up as you run faster
I know
I know
I know, you cut me loose in contradiction
I know, I'm all wrapped up in sweet attrition
I know, it's asking for your benediction
I know
I know, the past will catch you up as you run faster
I know, the last in line is always called a bastard
I know, the past will catch you up as you run faster
I know
I know
I know, the past will catch you up as you run faster
I know, the last in line is always called a bastard
I know, the past will catch you up as you run faster
I know
I know.

Ace. 44 y/old cabbage here still mad on the first 3 albums. Brixton Academy was a scream. Reading or Leeds cant remember which year was a shambles. 5am on the coke. Life is still ok. Peace x

"The last in line is always called a bastard, the past will catch you up as you run faster"
This is a truly haunting song and in the 20 years since I first heard it, those words have taken on even more resonance for me personally if anything
Humans are cruel. We know that because of school bullies picking on the weak and those who do not fit in. The adult world is not much different, with the contempt for social outcasts still being very much a feature of human society that exists in more subtle forms.
The mistakes you make when you are younger truly can catch up with you. A bad decision when you are younger can cost you heavily in the future, no matter how much you may look back and regret it. You may try to fight back against it and try to push things in the opposite direction but in a sense, it's always there with you.
05.11.2019 listen best song Placebo 🤘🏻
Also for me.......the best track of Placebo!!!!!
One of a kind. Bravo!!
la classe !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm not a fan of rock music (I love mixing and mastering this genre though), but this Placebo is just an awesome band. I absolutely love their music and can feel every single emotion in their songs.
Enigmatic band!!!!
I know!!!!! 😍
Rediscover placebo is perfect for the autumn. Connects me with my goth self.

Çılgın olduğu kadar kırgın Türkler. Türkler burada, çünkü -arabesk sözlere bayılıyoruz.
Let me preface this by saying I believe that Placebo is easily the best band of the past 20+ years; you will not find a bigger fan of theirs than me.
...That being said, this stellar song is based a little too much off The Cure's "If Only Tonight We Could Sleep". It's pretty indisputable.
That synth or guitar <3

I LOVE Brian Molko's voice. This is Placebo's MASTERPIECE!!!!!
I don't think there's ever been a band whose name better suits their music
Radiohead style acoustic guitar riff

Thanks Brian and Placebo i bought this lp in 1998 used by chance and then i fell in love with their music
Holy shit i haven't heard this in years
It always seems like he is singing "I know, the past will catch you up as you confess to her" instead of "run faster". I wonder if this is intended
I don't know why but this song puts my feet on the earth, in some strange way.
From where it all started.

My friend send me this song , i heard it for the first time and immediately i love it, and the next 2 months of my life I listened to all Placebo albums
Welcome to this beautiful placebo world.
My high-school girlfriend used to love placebo and I seen them open for silverchair when I was about 12..in the late nineties..
She used to say and still does say this song reminds her of me.. I love the song.. I get the past will catch you up part but I don't know why the whole song reminds her of me Its weird. She'll always mention it. I like the crawl and a few other of their slow songs but always come back to this
Doesn't music make you remember a period of time and nothing more , since I'm alone all the time? Most sad for me , was happy lost times , parties , friends , money , swimming pool , food , boyfriend , family? Yes thinking about an ugly future xD pradox of life lol.
Yes so much yes
Good times.
Most bands , I don't want to remember , good times :(
The song it's so beautiful thank you for this moment of Happiness, I like it so much,it's Good for my soul..love...bye 👊
This is not music this is ART.
Brian Molko : I was living in New York, thinking about moving there instead of living somewhere in France where I had been living and where I was feeling very down. I don't talk a lot of my private life, but it's very well known and very 'public domain' that I was in a relationship during that time but it didn't work. We really needed to take some time off. So I was in that big city and didn't know anybody. I lost my home, my family and I fell into a very deep depression. We had decided not to talk to each other but I couldn't bear it anymore. I remember I picked up a phone in some phonebooth in Broadway and called this person and said "see, I know I'm not supposed to be calling you right now, but I really need to talk to you". The song is part of the conversation we had over the phone, there's a lot of guilt in that song. Blind, included in Meds, is a somewhat alike song. The end of a relationship is kind like death. You have a life with someone and just suddendly, everything stops. The saddest part is that the world goes on and people go on minding their own business, without knowing the paint you feel. It's very interesting for an author to write about that.
If this isn't touching I don't know what is
