Placebo - Come Home Lyrics
Stuck between the do or die, I feel emaciated.
Hard to breathe I try and try, I'll get asphyxiated.
Swinging from the tallest height, with nothing left to hold on to.
Every sky is blue, but not for me and you.
Come home, come home, come home, come home.
Glass and petrol vodka gin, it feels like breathing methane.
Throw yourself from skin to skin, and still it doesn't dull the pain.
Vanish like a lipstick trace, it always blows me away.
Every cloud is grey, with dreams of yesterday.
Come home, come home, come home, come home,
come home, come home, come home, come home.
Always goes against the grain, and I can try and deny it
Give a monkey half a brain, and still he's bound to fry it.
Now the happening scene is dead, I used to want to be there too.
Every sky is blue, but not for me and you.
Come home, come home, come home, come home,
come home, come home, come home, come home.

me: cOME HOOOOOME-
My forty year old dad showed me this. Said it came out when he was young like me. Pretty old, but still probably the best album I've listened to in a long time.
What do you think of Placebo's other albums if you've checked them out?
Tempest Fennac I love all the albums. The certain style of guitar is pretty awesome to me and now I want to make music. Placebo is really good at hitting me right in the feels. The lyrics are sadly relatable, but they've helped me through tough times recently.
@Ash Miller That's good. I think Without You I'm Nothing is my favourite Placebo album overall.
One of the greatest, I agree!!
Can anyone tell me what snare that is the drummer used?
Thanks
I'm sorry Alice
Great song
The drums on most of these songs are just incredible!!!
2019!! Me!!
Damn the old drummer was incredible. What a beast
I remember myself listening to this song incessantly when I was 9 or 10 years old, and I used to dance to it like there was no tomorrow. I miss my childhood.
I already am home, you come, x.
Amazing song

Hola Placebo sois estupendos y maravillosos besos Kina
ah boys I friggin love this.
Hands down, my favorite Placebo album to this day. Heavy, beautiful, timeless. This CD remained in my car's CD player the entire second half of 1996.

💚 The instrumental tells the story
Had never dawned on me how romantic this song really was...probably because I'm high right now.
Brian is such an incisive, sharp, sardonic, self-effacing, cynical, perceptive, evocative, aware, and stunningly *smart* lyricist... Thanks for posting 💜
Brian Mo lol 😂
awesome as fuuuuck
Only album i really listen to by them
I love Brian's voice its like a drug that u can only get from a certain drug dealer
OMG I know. You can tell his voice has changed some since then but he still is my favorite!
It's like Billy Corgan's voice, you either love it or you hate it, there's no in between
마약에 대해서 쉽게 얘기하지 마라
lady of the flowers :-)
The stupid bitch
And now I feel young again :)
The glory days of placebo "without you I'm nothing" was still better though!
They went downhill after meds and the new drummer just sucks...

I'm here because tomorrow (4.8.16) Placebo will make an announcement and because some idiot changed original video's status to private.
happy birthday 🙌🎉🍻
20 years passed and still a pleasure to listen this album.
Glass and petrol vodka gin, it feels like breathing methane.
Throw yourself from skin to skin, and still it doesn't dull the pain.
Vanish like a lipstick trace, it always blows me away.
Every cloud is grey, with dreams of yesterday.
seriously this is the best album Placebo ever made
Agreed. It had a much looser on the fly sound than the everything that followed. Sounds more 70s than 90s
personally I like Black Market Music more
It's ALL great
I agree. I first heard “36 Degrees” when I was about 15 years old, late one night on MTV’s “120 Minutes”, and immediately fell in love. I love Brian’s stunningly sharp, clever, cynically self-effacing/aware lyrics, his quivering, nasal/helium-infused vocals, the fuzzed out guitar (as well as that searing, more high pitched tone it takes on songs like “36...”), the chunky, frenetic bass, the driving, erratic drums... The production is *just* right on this album. I much prefer this-era’s version of “Nancy Boy” to the re-release/video edit - it’s rawer and less “slick”/“produced” sounding. I hate when bands get “over-produced” sounding... I think that’s why I’ve always been reticent to check out their post-“WYIN” releases (even if my fears are unfounded...)
I also love this/the aforementioned tracks, obvs, as well as “Bionic”, “Teenage Angst”, “Hang on to Your IQ”, and - *FAVORITE* track on the album by a landslide - undeniably “Lady of the Flowers”. It used to hypnotize me as a teenager, but now, as an adult, the lyrics truly stun me...a very powerful, evocative, and atmospheric song. A real heartbreaker, too... One of those songs that “linger” with you long after the fact, or that you can’t shake... “She stole the keys to my house/And then she locked herself out...” And, musically, the instrumentals fit the lyrics perfectly. Sorry, just, I haven’t listened to this band in ages, and must’ve played that track alone like 15 times within the last two days. I forgot how great this album was, or didn’t even fully even grasp how great it was even though I loved it, bc some of the irony and wordplay was beyond my comprehension back then...
I’m American, so that was my earliest exposure to this band. I had the good fortune to be in the UK the summer they were starting to blow up over there, and saw the album at a record shop. I was still haunted by “36 Degrees”, so luckily I was smart enough to buy the CD while there. They had a US tour with Weezer around this time - I remember seeing the listing for it in the paper, and they were stopping off in NYC, which I lived 45 min south of - but no one I knew had heard of them and none of my friends were into Weezer. I was very guarded about the music I loved at that age, bc if someone ragged on a band or song I loved, it would literally hurt me. I used to see music I loved as an extension of myself...I guess I still do, or always will... Anyway, it’s funny, bc then a few years later, everyone loved them bc of Cruel Intentions and the “Pure Morning” video, lol. In retrospect, I should’ve just gone by myself or had the courage to ask a friend... I always wished I had gone to that show..
“Without You I’m Nothing” was also a fantastic album, imo. I’m not overly familiar with much of their work beyond that, aside from a few of their covers and their work in Velvet Goldmine (I wrote a thesis paper in University on Glam Rock, lol) - anyone recommend a particular album, song, whatever from their catalogue after their first 2 albums? Thanks in advance! 💜
Ivan Karev I really love their first 2 albums - is “BMM” very different? Any songs you’d suggest as a starting off point?
Tabiikisi yine züper olmuş... :)
my favourite placebo song till this day....the album easily is one of the best albums of the 90s
..sadly they got worse and worse with each new album "without you im nothing" is still super brilliant and even "black market music" is a great great album..."sleeping with ghosts" was the last one that was still ok-ish...everything after that sadly just is garbage...I saw them live at a major festival last year and although I was such a huge fan in my teens (listening to them literaly every day) there was no spark in me for them..it almost is sad more than anything else
agree 100%, loved them all the way until Meds, when I started to feel like they were no longer interested in making music. The Live in Paris DVD in 2004 was excellent though, a great summary of their work.
exactly same feelings.. except SWG was an "end" album for me, same with Nine inch nails and Fragile. Live show this year was very good tho.
I feel exactly the same. Sad.
Jens Schumacher battle for the sun is quite passionate
@Toby Littlejohns omg
Sometimes you re-evaluate old albums after many years. After all these years i can say this first Placebo album is a masterpiece.
Ralpha Recycled The first three I love, the fourth is sort of pick and mix and the rest I just gave up on.
Deep joy.
This is the album that made me love Placebo. But since then I abandoned them. All their other albums that came out were disappointingly inferior to their debut.
Top fucking drawer
Sounds as fresh as the day it came out - forgot how fast & hard the drums and guitar go
The old drummer is a beast ! I practice drum long time ago and he drums like a boss
Yep..... Androgynous Euro trashy narco-rock never does.....
It's not Steve Hewitt on this album... it is the original drummer Robert Schultzberg. If I remember right, Hewitt joined a few months after the albums' release.
Beat Hermit harder faster
Every cloud is grey with dreams of yesterday .... Come home .....
Yeah such a shame this band went down hill post the first two albums. When they were doing the glam rock/grudge sound with poetic lyrics they were far more appealling.
Black Market Music was a bit of a dud but I still love the shit out of Sleeping With Ghosts. After that though...yeah.
Best album ever!
This is unfortunately not for me... :/
This is good. I like this.
I absolutely LOVED this album when I was a teenager.
+Dahlia Neda Für Immer Verloren me too! but wow still superb!
+STEVEN MCPANTS - Yes definitely still great + really takes me back.
Im still loving it :3
I still loving since 2004, i've heard first time
I do right now as a teenager
