Placebo - Bigmouth Strikes Again Lyrics
Sweetness, sweetness
I was only joking when I said
I'd like to smash every tooth in your head
Oh, sweetness, sweetness
By rights you should be bludgeoned in your bed
And now I know how Joan of Arc felt
Now I know Joan of Arc felt
As the flames rose to her Roman nose
And her Discman started to melt
Bigmouth la da da da da da
Bigmouth la da da da
Bigmouth strikes again
In the human race
Bigmouth la da da da da da
Bigmouth la da da da
Bigmouth strikes again
And I got no right to take my place
In the human race
And now I know how Joan of Arc felt
Now I know how Joan of Arc felt
As the flames rose to her Roman nose
And her Megadrive started to melt
Bigmouth la da da da da da
Bigmouth la da da da
Bigmouth strikes again
And I got no right to take my place
In the human race
Bigmouth la da da da da da
Bigmouth la da da da
Bigmouth strikes again
And I got no right to take my place
In the human race

This is objectively the better version as it doesn’t include weird high pitches morrissey background voices
i prefer this to the original but i don't think it's "better" than the original. i just prefer it because i grew up with this version, just like loads of the people saying this sucks grew up with the original version.
dare i say........better than the original imo
Sorry but this does not touch the original. I love Placebo but I am definitely not feeling this cover.
The whole album is great.
Bumblebee 😁😅🤘
Um socao
her iphone started to melt
TheUnnamedGent iPod, man, iPod. Lol
But, well, now we need another new cover for this song, swapping Discman with more contemporary devices lol
@M. Arbah Binamin Nowadays, when Morrissey performs this song live, he changes it to an "iPod." Also it doesnt needs cover, the original is greater than this ¨Post-punk revival¨ garbage. Im just saying....
David Lara you just had to say it, right? Like, the temptations are too hard to resist? Lol
If I don't spit it, I get poisoned
David Lara that’s bad, glad you got it out lol 😂
I love placebo and the Smiths! I’m so happy I found this cover!
I was only joking when I said I want to smash all your teeth in your mouth....! Well every woman's activist wood have sumthing to say bout that eh!!!! LoL. And now ino how Joan of Arch felt!!! Oh shit, however, how many girls have thought the same of us fellas... BIG LOL TO YOU PLACEBO and of course, THE SMITHS BAND!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :)
sounds like a democrat
Guys, IT'S A COVER, it doesn't have to be exactly like the original
Yes but it s a very very good cover, and i love Smiths like nobody else
okey this isnt very good
Bad vocals. Great track.
Skataaa
Placebo always manages to make a song more intense and dramatic. This version is so Placebo-esque that you almost can’t compare it to the original
It absolutely is Placebo-esque! More than I could imagine!
a good version, but the right tone and sound of the lyrics are fitted to Morrysey's voice, no easy feat to emulate that
I quite like it :) specially guitar
nice vb
It's awful, they should do an eagles cover
If you're here, then you love great music. Congratulations!
Increible...
Almost as good as orignal
his voice is rubbish
when you love this but never heard the original
Really good cover of my favourite band. Also Radiohead’s version of headmasters ritual is brilliant too
And Buckley's version of I Know It's Over
better at 0.75 speed
This is awful
Perfect
Marry me Brian ❤
They took all the swing and movement out of the song !
The song had that weird phased feeling too, like if there was a music video, it would constantly zoom in and out or something.
complete trash....sounds like he is getting fucked
This cover sucks!
great cover! i like it.
MARAVILHOSOS!
He doesn't have that Morrisey flow, flat underwhelming cover
This has been an earworm for me since it was a b-side on Nancy Boy :)
The original is 100 times better IMO.
TheGobaar Good thing nobody gives a fuck let alone 100 of them. Your opinion is invalid and sucks
it's a smiths song but THIS is placebo.
this is so weird because I love both bands and I seriously don't know how to feel
i'm like "where is Morrissey" but it has the Placebo kick and I'm pretty sure I like it
Is this new? It must be?
Pretty old actually, think it was a B-Side on the Nancy Boy single back in the 90s.
the guitar is perfect. i love this cover
I love your profile picture
paranoid android a Radiohead name, a muse profile pic, listening to a song by the smiths covered by Placebo. SO MANY LAYERS!
Discman...even that is out of date :)
should be iPhone maybe, but then, that too, will soon be consigned to history...
Stream man 🎶🎶
i love the smiths¡¡¡¡¡
La canción es una burla a Placebo le falta sarcasmo en su voz, además los instrumentos suenan demasiado alegres
Ulrick Nettel bueno es tu opinión 😐
Ulrick Nettel bueno es tu opinión 😐
Ulrick Nettel alegres?????? Jajaja tiene distorsión, sonidos osilantes, cómo va a hacer alegre!
its different but actually good
In my opinion it's one of those that you can say that it is just as good as the original, they made it theirs.
This is special album that my favourite group covers the songs of my another favourite groups❤️ another one is "i feel you" from depeche mode
big smiths fan. also big placebo fan. great cover!!
what Dawn said
Complete and utter shit.
I know you are but what am I? :)
heard this way before the smiths, and I recently started listening to them, glad I was recommended them
My mum was a smiths fan as a teen, but same here I bought Nancy boy singe when I was about 12 and the b side was this! But only just this minute have I realised its a smiths song! I now prefer the original
my step dad was a big fan of placebo so I grew up on them alot, not knowing they had covered the smiths and then not knowing id find them too ahah
big smiths fan myself. also big placebo fan. great cover!!
His voice doesn't really compare to Morrisseys' but still good. I like the energy of this cover more than the original however.
Morrisseys' voice is rubbish these days. Johnny Marr is a better singer!
I disagree, Brian Molko's voice is better
Don t touch Moz pleaseeeeeeeeeeee. Good and special voice from Brian, but Morrissey is the best
suavinevans they're not really comparable. They have completely different voices.
This is my favourite song and I'm saddened as I am unable to find someone covering the vocals of this.
+Kiara Rage But.. this is a cover. From The Smiths.
+Levi harrison I know haha
The Smiths!!!! Morrisey would have been proud
Munchbob morrissey is a knob
Munchbob so you're right
Yeah but he's made some amazing music, even if the newest album was kind of terrible.
Apparently Marr was proud
It's mad how different the vibe of the song is when sung by placebo. I love them
esse cover ficou incrivel, muito pesado, parabéns Placebo!!!
Not keen on this cover, but interesting and worth a listen.
Ok so its a cover, the original is pretty good. Anyways however this song is a bit weird to me. I made a playlist in 2012 that i have reworked many times to sort out the stuff that "got old" ,you know. But this song is the very last one of im sure 1000 deleted songs, that still sits in my list til today. I can not get tired of this songs. Very mystical!
To all the smiths fanboys, johnny marr approved this cover. He was asked if there are any good smiths covers and this one came to mind.
Good choice from him :)
Or fangirls
Johnny fuckin marr
i have mixed feelings about this cover.
Oh my goodness! I didn't think anybody could do this song as great as the Smiths. I was lucky to see Morrissey sing this in concert a mile from my home at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi about 7 years ago. Wow...how would it be to have Placebo play that close!
I love how he changed walkman to discman
Don't agree....they should've kept the original lyrics (there is one more change in there that I noticed). Like the syle though.
+DJ Allan Hernandez even Morrissey changes those lyrics when he sings it nowadays. I agree it doesn't sound right but whatever
This song sounds horrific, covered by Americans generally dunno why. its the nasaly bit kills it.
They formed in Manchester , Brian is definitely American though
Jason, mate, he grew up in Belgium and Scotland...
@Joe cheers mate I did not know that. I used to have the Nancy boy demo that was given to me by a virgin a and r man , he asked me if I thought they were any good, ha ha long ago times
jason jones Yeah, I thought they were American the first time
Emmm placebo es una banda iglesa que no o me equivoque de mundo
Can never top the original with its weird high pitched chorus accompaniment but this is ok and i do like how he change it to megadrive instead of walkman.
I like the live version of that song, more than album's
Wow, they really Placebo-fied it.
This is terrible.
thats your opinion. i think its awesome. you dont suck
Jonny Marr like it!
I like the Smiths! And i like Placebo too!
I heard this for the very first time as the B side to Nancy Boy when I was 14. I am 32 now and I still fall in love with this band now, the same way I did back then. How many bands can anyone say that about after 20 odd years? <3
same here lol
Me too, I was 13 when I started listening to placebo. It was the skate video FLIP - SORRY video with the song " every you, every me" that got me into them. Also I'm 30 now.
Sian please invent a time machine and take us back to the 90's.
Everything is dogshit now.
The 90's really were the best decade for music.
Before you know it will have been 40 years after
Great cover version.
Brian's singing style is amazing. Im not gay but I really love his personality. Its so cool. =)
+Keith Nimmo i never said i havnt had boyfriends. i just prefer vagina ;)
you don't have to be gay to like another mans personality!
@Gilded Cage <3
any man who needs to say 'im not gay' is a big gay
No homo
gorgeous and gorgeousity made flesh
O^O Absolitely luv this cover of The Smiths~ <3
