These two songs changed my life. So many lessons in just these two songs that everyone from Radiohead to Nirvana cribbed from. One of the catchiest, weirdest, most creative indie bands ever to walk the earth.
Indie band?
Here because of Brad
Du pure génie ce groupe, wow mon groupe préféré.

The album was named after a line in this song... "Pray for a man in the middle, one that talks like Doo---little!"

It's my favorite Pixies album and I love 'em all!!!!!
There’s no band that sounds like the pixies, but Doolittle was their finest moment no doubt. PACKED full of amazing tracks front to back.
When I hear this I think of a Jim Jarmusch film
I take off my hat
Check out TV on The Radio's cover of Mr. Grieves. That was how I first heard it
This is good stuff!!
I am deeply concerned with the well-being of your mental status.....

Pixies are so fun to listen to
Yes they are
And a band even more funny in my opinion : Primus!!
Mr. Grieves sounds like a mix of Reggae,Wild West Movie Music, and Punk
And fucking awesome
Yep, they're kings of the Reggwiwesmunk genre
Psychobilly. And tourettes. That yelping at the end of Crackity Jones.
@See my Spinning, Shining Wheels in all Colours! Yep, they're the kings of the Psychorettes genre
JF. Gracias! Pueden tener las máscaras mientras llegan, se saludan y después mucho después quitarlas si es límitidariamente al borde de lo necesario. Seguro se siente como esta canción.
La ponemos juntos?
@Juan Fernando sí.

This was when Black was studying in the University of Puerto Rico and Crackity Jones was his roommate, in that University there's a lot of nut jobs, always has been like that.
Damn how good is this!!!! Need to buy the CD, worn my tape out...I'm so old... LOL
well, still got mine, but i m curius when it will die.. i hope it won t do fast.
"Crackity Jones" describes a crazed roommate and was inspired by Francis' stay in an apartment block with a "weirdo, psycho, gay roommate" in Puerto Rico as a student.
Black Francis was on a six-month trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico (the song's lyrics describe a "stinking island" that is "thirty miles by a hundred miles" long) as an exchange student as part of his college degree. He found himself in a squalid high-rise apartment (describing it as a "crazy all-male dormitory"), waiting for his assigned roommate to show up. Francis later described meeting his roommate:
"He didn't show up for about a month. First thing he said to me, he had cut his finger or something, I had never even met him. It was like out of a David Lynch movie.”
Francis continued to live with the roommate, but the roommate's rants about Fred Flintstone and the voices in his head tested Francis' patience. He returned to Boston after six months to start the Pixies with Joey Santiago.
kumbaya shit the roommate sounds hot
I'M AFRAID YOU'LL CUT ME BOY!
Cryptic as fuck, until you learn the context decades later..that's Black Francis' lyrics for you
Just when you think you know a guy
It’s weird to hear there’s an actual story behind it. Tbh it never occurred to me to think about what the lyrics meant for all the years I listened to this song lol
He's got no friends. Only periods.
How does this not have more comments?? Best songs ❤
You look very pretty!
@Jacob Kell True you sexy seagull ;)
@4 score hes a FUCK
a duck*
because no words can explain how red hot the pixies are
Con este par de rolas me voy a comer el mundo.
These two tracks are like, pretty fucking good
*this fucking band*
these are the only studio versions of these songs on youtube at the moment
Out here I’ve noticed most the songs from Doolittle were removed from YouTube for some reason. Really upsetting. Good thing I have the CD still.
To be fair, a band can't keep going without some revenue. Like, no one should be without their favorite songs, and music shouldn't be manopolized.
These guys did go broke for a good while in the 90s after their split.
They returned for the fans though, that's for sure.
But yea, if you love the band, try to support when ya can :)
That, and studios can be lame about copyrights and smacking them down in free places
I still believe in Mr Grieves, he is way cooler than Santa Claus.
And he believes in us, too
does anyone have another opinion?
