Before you ignore this, think that noone made it to the top without starting from the bottom.

This is one of my favorite tracks ever, second favorite on the album. 2nd behind Us and them. For years i wanted to be a musician but fear always made me say "My time is too late, I missed my shot" At 26 I became feed up with the day to day, moved to rural japan and started putting out music. Before I came to japan, I went to brazil, and heard a random restaurant playing this,I knew that it was serendipity. And TIME to get moving!! I made a hiphop song that was inspired by this actually, but the song is called "Feel The Void", by Fat Jon.

This song is the perfect blend of Waters lyrics and Gilmour's emotive guitar playing...hard to believe people in their 20's could have created this masterpiece. People will still question their mortality listening to this in 100 years from now.

Esta siempre será uno de los temas de Pink Floyd que más apreciaré muchísimo en mi vida, tiene un gran significado en mi vida. Gracias papá por mostrarme esta magnífica banda.

Did anyone ever think about the solo and what it represents? I think that the brilliant mind of Pink Floyd wanted to depict that 5 stages of Grief here.


At the start of solo you have low notes that come off really hard, sense of denying and neglecting the harsh truth comes to surface.


At 3:27, the first part of solo is repeated but he goes to higher notes, trying to depict anger, screaming.


At 3:41, he moves to even higher octave, and the first bend he makes on 17th fret of B string, could symbolize the start of bargaining. Almost a cry for help, why did it happend the way it happend, why didn't I try to do things differently?


At 3:54, depression starts, all those high bended notes, his mind screaming at him, he can't see the clear path infront of him, all of the emotions he holds are now mixed into a vortex that isn't going to stop anytime soon.


And suddently, at 4:09, vortex stops, he's accepted the certain, there is no way to change past and the past actions have led to certain future. He's not angry at himself anymore, he's not in denial, he's not bargaining, he's not even depressed, he just plain accepted the reality.


Also, notice how Nick Mason changes the pattern at the last part, when everything is becomes clear and calm, and how before that with every new part he kind of changes the pattern, the number of time he plays crash cymbal, or the difference of transition parts he plays on drums only.


I don't know, these are just my thoughts, I would like to see some comments here and discuss it with you people.


Whether we agree or not, it's certain and undeniable fact, that this masterpiece, at first serves as a teacher, but later on comes to haunt you when you realize the mistakes you've made and opportunities you have missed.

This song is basically the most beautiful song I've ever heard, and I honestly say it is very easy to relate to some things but as you get older it gets more relate able

The genius of this song is that even the guitar solo is a representation of time itself.
From 3:13 till 4:10 you imagine the youth years with energy, aggressiveness, boldness...and all of a sudden at 4:10 things slow down...you got old...
