Pink Floyd - The Nile Song Lyrics
I was standing by the Nile
When I saw the lady smile
I would take her out for a while
For a while
How her golden hair was blowing wild
Then she spread her wings to fly
For to fly
Soaring high above the breezes
Going always where she pleases
She will make it to the island
In the sun
I will follow in her shadow
One day I will catch her
She is calling from the deep
Summoning my soul to endless sleep
She is bound to drag me down
Drag me down

THIS IS AMAZING FLOYD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It 's like the heavy metal, unbelievable !!!!!
Husker Du?
I don’t even like Floyd and I think this song is awesome.
Robin Deubler what’s not to like about Floyd?
This is about as crunchy as Gilmore gets. Mason's drumming is thunderous. Bad-ass, this tune.
Those chords are so fun to play
Grungedelic
Pink Phoda. Pure punk.
At this point these guys just did whatever the fuck they wanted to
The heaviest psychedelic tune ever
It might just be me but I get an Electric Wizard vibe from this song which is badass

Check out the Boston band, Ichabod...they do a sick version of this!
awesome album !
Mister Gilmour in fire since 1969!
Nobody can agree if this is Metal, Punk, or Grunge. To me, this is the soundtrack to the film More (1969)
Pink Floyd metal side
109 natives didn't appreciate being exploited for this song.
Gilmour tries Hendrix
Il déchire l'album More mes parents me l'ont donnes en vinyles je l'aient aient tous mes celui là il a quelque chose il correspond bien à l'image du film More! J'adore particulièrement cymbaline
The birth of metal
She did make it to the island in the Sun. Louis
1.5x would Venom and early Motorhead had inspiration in Pink Floyd...?
Best quality's Hard Rock!!!
The only thing that keeps this song from being an early heavy metal classic is that Waters plays his bass notes too high!!
Heavy Metal !!

My old band did this track, fun!!
Wish they would've played this live at Pompeii
Heavy Grunge... lol
500th comment!
Reminds me of something the Who would've done, even Nick is channeling his inner Keith Moon.
So Pink Floyd invented metal not Black Sabbath?
@TomorrowNeverKnows do yourself a favour and listen to some of Jimi's music
@See? Those are your tears, man. I did.
@See? Those are your tears, man. It doesn't sound like this at all.
@TomorrowNeverKnows what is your point? I'm just trying to say that Hendrix was one of the proto-metal guys predating The Beatles' works in that area
@See? Those are your tears, man. He certainly was a influence on heavy metal. But this song is practically heavy metal.
Pink Floyd a metal band? LOL
Lembra Ozzy Black sabbath
Keep on rocking!!! whose still listening in 2019?
Where the King Gizzard cover?
One of the best David Gilmour ever recorded! Can he sing like this yet? It would be amazing in a farewell tour before Astronomy Domine!
I've been a HARDCORE Floyd fan all my life (and I mean, ask anyone), and this is the one song I've always been a little suspicious of. Why? Because: Gilmour, at this time in his development on the guitar, was not up to this level of solo. The rhythm stuff? Sure. But I've always had a difficult time believing it was 100% him playing that solo. It's a godly solo, and there's that fast picking thing at the end of it that I have never heard Gilmour do. Also, they never played it live. Not ONCE that I know of. It exists on ZERO bootlegs. Why the hell wouldn't they play this live? Makes no sense. Anyway, take it for what it's worth, but aside from all that, this is one very, very under-listened-to Floyd song. It shows they could have easily been one of the first hit metal bands, lol. So strange.
Streaming upon golden wings of sun light.
Pink Floyd From Hell - Scary
David Gilmour inventou o Grunge Metal Progressivo. The best Guitarman.

First heavy metal song
PINK Sabbath ✌️😊
These boys have talent. They work hard. They get along. They succeed in a very hard business: professional musicians.
Roger Waters $310 million. Nick Mason $180 million. David Gilmour $140 million. Richard Wright $70 million.
This song is a proto punk song ...
Is here anybody else who feel so, this song inspirated the Paradise Lost? :)
I bought the Relics cd when I was 19, almost 20 years ago. This song and Bike are the only 2 I remember.
ISIS. The Nile Song is the myth of ISIS and the rise of the Nile
Hey guys, what about writing a 3 chords punk song ?
Mmmmm.....ok, but let's change the tune on each row, cause we are The Pink Floyd !
I present you... Nick "Badass" Mason
And Rodger "the banshee" Waters. lmao
I once stood on a bridge over the river Nile in Cairo, thinking of this captivating song.
Johan Sterk nice
one of the best how much I listened to this record I loved it and again...the beginning j'adore!
this song and helter skelter were ahead of their time
I'm not surprised how many PF fans have never heard of this, I was turned on at 16 back in 87 by my European friends. This and atom heart mother were the best trippin songs!
Massa Floyd!
No one should be surprised how kick ass this is. Just remember Pipers At the Gates of Dawn came out the same summer as Sgt. Pepper and while Pepper is a beautiful pop masterpiece, Pipers seemed years ahead in terms of experimentation and a dark side alternative to the Summer of Love. McCartney used to see them at that time and knew he was in the presence of genius.
Years ago, I was in Cairo, Egypt listening to this song on my ipod while near the Nile.
THE ultimate HEAVY song of desire!
Oh god! David sounds a lot like Kurt Cobain here
Pipers of Rock ......Who on earth is Kurt Cobain?
Emlyn Griffith tell me you’re joking, he’s one of the defining moments of 90s rock
Jakota Productions ....I googled him. Some young guy who topped himself after one hit song. Sorry, never heard of him before. Now......Pink Floyd is in a different league altogether.
What the hell? I don't remember this song and thought I knew them all.
sludge metal
Pink Floyd + Jimi Hendrix Experience = The Nile Song
Um solo fuderoso desses e a noiazada dizendo que é punk kkkkkkkk pqp!!

I remember when janes addiction came out with the mountain song and thinking it was heavily influenced by this!! Many great trips back then!!
I didn't see any remarks, but man the drumming really stands out in this! Great timing, every hit right on point
This isn't thrash metal, this is trash metal
This is the birth of metal
I think of Woodstock everytime I hear this.
I can't believe I've known this song from Voivod for decades and had no idea it was actually by PInk Floyd.... (I did know about Astronomy Dominé)
Motoerfloyd
YEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH
3:12 I think Ian Lemmy Killmister (before Motörhead) heard this song and made ist like by 3:12.
I'm sorry. This sucks. It's like Metallica trying to go prog. Just doesn't fucking work.
If the word "facemelter" was in the dictionary this song would be listed as the definition.
Putaqueopariu, que doideira da porra
David Gilmour does punk! And people always think Roger was the radical... :D
I feel it as hard metal
Helter Skelter Pink Floyd version.
just a little more than a call. Switching to Cream now, trying to learn how to get the inside done.
One Floyd song I have never gotten tired of...Headbangers take note of the Nile song!
