Pink Floyd - The Gold It's In The... Lyrics
Come on, my friends,
Let's make for the hills.
They say there's gold but I'm looking for thrills.
You can get your hands on whatever we find,
Because I'm only coming along for the ride.
I'll go mine.
I don't care if we get there on time.
Everybody's searching for something, they say.
I'll get my kicks on the way.
Over mountains, across seas,
Who knows what will be waiting for me?
I could sail forever to strange sounding names.
Faces of people and places don't change.
All I have to do is just close my eyes
To see the seagulls wheeling on those far distant skies.
All I want to say is count me in on the journey.
Don't expect me to stay.

Sounds like Thin Lizzy
Free Four one of the best songs
used to trip to this lp
Extremely underrated! The best of the best!
This song reminds me of some stuff from The White Album from the Beatles. To be more specific, Everybody´s Got Something to Hide Except for me and my Monkey
A not so serious non philosophical Pink Floyd tune that sounds like The Kinks ...
Pink Floyd is gold.
I can imagine Noctis and his boys riding in the Regalia while listening to this.
My favourite song on the album, reminds me a bit of The Beatles and especially George Harrison. :)
Absolutely, my neighbors and i were listening to this yesterday cranked to 11 and i thought to myself exactly that, maybe because i was playing the Beatles before that i don't know because it never dawned on me before, great guitar work and well underrated song from a great album, they set the bar high with The Dark Side Of The Moon so looking back i suppose it gets lost, they started out as an R'n'B Band so we shouldn't be so surprised with this track, anyway, good taste in music by the way.
Thank you :)
There really isnt a better group than pink floyd.
kindo proto punk. 'The nile song' sound like that dirty also. Very catchy.
Kiss Floyd !
I swear this is a Steve Miller Band song! Hahaha!
Great album!!!!
Good lord, this song is so not Pink Floyd, but at the same time, its really them to do this.
Yea it sounds more like The Kinks
The title reminds me of The Lost Dutchman mine where legend has it an old man who found the mine was running from Indians and found a remote house in the desert. He collapsed and a resident came out and asked him who he was. He uttered his last words about finding the goldmine. The resident asked where though he had already died.
Wtf , intriguing I think

this sounds extremely familiar to the beatles song "everyones got something to hide"
Monkey says don't forget about me.
COPS MIGHT BE LISTENIN IN?
Just got a pair of brand new nice headphones. Killer song!
If this song doesn't scream freedom or touring a band for the first time in a different continent, then I don't know what it screams...
I hear a slight Clapton/dominoes vibe here!
Great song!!
They should have released this as a single when the album came out
I listen to it when i'm driving over the hills up to 160 km/h without anyone in front of me just me the road and the empty sky
Maybe the gold is in friendship, kindness and spiritual enlightenment? - Just kidding, I need to know where that goddamn gold is!
Arrrgh. I hate some producers: jam gets lopped off with a hatchet to "fit format". Wankers. Somebody please dig up the master for this and make the full release.
Don't let them tell you Pink Floyd isn't a rock band
This reminds me of something a truck driver in the country would listen to lol
Old pink floyd is where it's at
GREAT album highly underrated!
I remember buying this in the late 70’s and wore the vinyl out. One o my favorite.
"Obscured By Clouds" is the poster child of Unbelievably Underrated Albums. It blows my mind that this one rarely gets any attention.
I know! There's so many bangers on it and the only bad song is the last one
@Nelsonnoscoper You are 100% on target.🎯
@Nelsonnoscoper
It's not a bad song, you just weren't on the right drugs.
Sorry of my musical life.....check out my XIAN Psych playlist in my account.
Jason Vernon Pink Floyd sucks you in with their popular stuff and keeps you with their earlier stuff, especially Atom Heart Mother
COMMMMEEEE ON MY FRIENDDD LETS MAKE FOR HILLSSS

I was very happy listening to this, until a ad with trap music apeared on this song:(
Grand Funk Lol
Well this is not what i was expecting. Ive never heard floyd with that classic hard rock sound before
Shame about the ad.
Porra, ta escrito errado igual is there anybody out there pqp
where's the gold? Its in the what?
Its in the alchemical wedding this album is the soundtrack to an obscure film whose subtheme is gold from lead.
Probably the most underrated floyd song. It has a great riff, alright story, soothing vocals, amazing guitar solo, goes great with driving or exercising, etc.
This reminds me of Pink Floyd
Awesome guitar work in this song!!!
I Think Pink Floyd and The Rolling stones made a baby
I'm sad to say it damn sure wasn't me.
floyd would have nothing to do with the stones... how the hell do you even mention them at the same time?
HARD ROCK FLOYD
Led Zeppelin?
Oh ..and by the way what is the distance to the moon divived by 1.8444444444444444444444?
randall scott burress 129,524.1
Sounds like Fleetwood Mac
This song is great, but if you hear the album in order its very disruptive
Benjamín Hurtado Torrealba I think it’s a great upbeat refresher to the album
So trippyyyyyyyyy at 0.5x speed
am i listening to led zeppelin right now?
Reminds me of The Who actually. It's an underrated gem.
Remind Grand Funk
I was wondering same thing
emas nya ada di?
Dimane hayo?
Such a great rock 'n roll song
I just love this album, it's the very first Floyd album I ever bought.
I just bought their albums in random order regardless of how successful the albums were. Ummagumma was number 2.
And now, for the most (potentially) unusual comment to be made about this song...David Gilmour's vocals on this song reminds me of Gene Simmons (from KISS - on his solo LP), in a song called "Mr. Make Believe."
And...while I'm here, I'll also make mention of how Rick Wright's vocals reminds me of Alan Parsons in the song "Time."
?? well, you are the gold Pink Floyd, you are the gold!
That wasn't ME? Eddy hung the cat on the clotheline?????????
Reference? And It Better not be from JoJo's Bizarre Shit Adventures
If you count me in the journey please don't expect me to stay. lol
Exceptional guitar, as usual
You know what they say? "a moody pink beatle a day keeps the doctor away"?????
This has to be the hundredth time I've changed my mind on which Pink Floyd song is my favourite.
Morrison Productions so very true!
This is my favorite Floyd song.
Me too... I think.
Do things and stuff go in your brain when you are sleeping? WELL DUH!...
<3 Być Na OK
Super song - great energy. If I recall from a P.F. documentary, Gilmour and Waters added this song as a filler and neither liked it. Interesting how how that turned out.
DG should be Knighted for that Guitaristry
The Gold It's In The Pink Floyd
sounds like Pink Floyd copping Lou Reed
Listened to this on Friday while driving through the Rockies. Beautiful.
we're all rolling, and here is the place to rock this journey
Pink Floyd ROCKIN' the BLUES - LOVE IT!
My favorite Floyd album
The gold..., it's in the unmarked grave next to Arch Stanton.
How come this song gets the question mark at the end but the auto generated In the Flesh? doesn't?
solo legal
Ever feel like saying take that all you fist pumping brick in the wallers? They don't know Floyd!!!
That guitar solo is so AWESOME!!!
This album has the quirkiest song titles. 😘
The Gold It's In The Flesh?
Hahahahah
First time I've laughed at the comment section on a pink floyd video
@Cameron Howe go watch the Pink Floyd interview, you're going to laugh, a lot
This and Childhood's end are my favourites on this album. Great songs. Don't know why this tune hasn't been used in a scene during a road trip movie? It'd be amazing to see that happen.
Ruby Lea It was specifically written (and used) in a road movie...of sorts (Barbet Schroeder’s La Vallee)
I love this song. It's so upbeat!
love this song
And you've gotta play it LOUD!!!!!!!!!!
Over the mountains, across the seas ... love it!
pretty much faultless
I can't believe I've never heard this Floyd sound before.
You are not an adult
you are an idiot
Eduardo Gutiérrez Castillo
Yeah? Make me😂😂😂
Lucian Alixandrescu
You should listen to Nile Song then.
Exploration my friend, exploration. I listened to this a lot at 15. Doing semi long haul moves on Vancouver Island. First job I ever had. 87' turning my old long hair boss onto what I had learned! Lol!
Good times!
Fucking hell, that guitar is so bloody good.
Listen in speed 0.5
*No me agradezcas solo gozalo*
Rocking why cant radio just play everything instead of force feeding us the same shit over and over.
If I hear all right now by Free one more time.....
Seen the Floyd at radio City music Hall NYC support this lp.the first time was still a small theater in Passaic NJ the central theater 1200 seater. 1971...
I haven't turned the radio on in at least 10 years.
There's so many songs that I can't even listen to now haha they beat that shit to death and now they just make me sick.
MoustacheCloud my coworker listens to the same classic rock radio stations every day and he doesn’t seem to get tired of listening to the same 100 songs repeatedly.. I don’t get it. I listen to my Bluetooth separately 😂
It's kinda crazy this song hasn't been used during a road trip montage in a movie or something. It's absolutely perfect for something like that
Not many people know it... even people I know who listen to Floyd don't know this song when I mention it.
DAZing23 exactly!!!!!!!!!!
@ThinWhiteAxe https://youtu.be/iUe9y_o8I9Q
METAL NECK ON VIMEO.
Should have been used in that movie about Gold Mining.
Just brilliant! Gilmour's killer solo is one of his best.

I LOVE TOO MUCH THIS SONG...ABSOLUTELY THE BEST OF THE ALBUM...100% PURE ROCK......GREAT LYRICS!!!!
