Pink Floyd did here what the Beatles were trying to get at. The music is so much more experimental (I bet the guy from Magma listened to lots of Atom Heart Mother) yet at the same time more emotionally genuine (I personally have a hard time with the Beatles' annoying sarcasm).

Great song, perhaps the best on the album, but the brass is a bit overbearing to me. A couple of nice Gilmour solos would suit it better IMO.

Great song. Always thinking of Rick when I listen to  it.  Never forgotten, although departed .

Perhaps he's gone to an existence where music can reach all the sense's, you can taste and smell individual notes and combinations, you can see the sound waves echoing off the walls and moving through the air until it reaches you and then you feel them ripple up your arm over your shoulder, sliding up the neck and into the ear, for what can only be described as sensational bliss, especially if listening to anything done by Pink Floyd. Hahaha sorry, I don't know where I was going with that, although I think that would be a pretty kickass afterlife scenario.

I'm not sure but seems like Alan Parsons was like a sound engineer.

Like, I think you may be, like, right. AP worked on DSOTM but declined to work on WYWH as he wanted to do his own album/s. He worked in Abbey Road studios for all sorts of successful artists.

I just had a look in my CD's booklet and it says that Peter Bown and Alan Parsons are the sound engineers. (-:

This is a nice Floyd song but on the other hand I don't give it too much credit for the lyrics. It's just about the groupies Rick screwed after concerts. Not something to be super proud as a lyricist comparing to other classics I suppose.

I always felt certain Floyd albums highlighted each band member. For Gilmore on guitar, Animals. Waters, The Wall. Mason and his impeccably slow drumming, Dark Side but for the best of Richard Wright for his keyboard and vocal skills, Atom Heart mother is the go to record.

Honestly I’d say it’s Wish You Were Here for Rick. He’s at 100% and then some on that album

I highly disagree. They shined on multiple albums. Rick was also amazing on Piper and Saucerful. What about that?

Don't forget about Waters on the Final Cut and Gilmore and Wright on all albums after that.

DSOTM and Wish You Were Here is where Rick shined the brightest. They're also the two best Pink Floyd albums as far as the music goes, in my opinion.

I actually think it was OBC for Gilmore.

Well, the new remaster lyric sheets are wrong, he definitely sings "From your bed I gained a day, and lost a bloody year." If you listen loud and close, that's what Rick is singing.
