Pink Floyd - It Would Be So Nice Lyrics

It would be so nice
It would be so nice
It would be so nice
To meet, sometime

Everybody wakes, and in the morning
Hot tea and can't stop yawning
Pass the butter please.
Have you ever read the Daily Standard?
Reading all about the plane that's landed
Upside down?

And no one knows what I did today
There can be no other way
But I would just like to say

It would be so nice
It would be so nice
It would be so nice
To meet sometime
It would be so nice
It would be so nice
It would be so nice
To meet sometime

Everybody cares about the weather
And everybody should know better
What a waste of time
Everybody lives beneath the ceiling
Living out a dream that sends them reeling
To a distant place

But no one knows what I did today
There can be no other way
But I would just like to say

It would be so nice
It would be so nice
It would be so nice
To meet sometime
It would be so nice
It would be so nice
It would be so nice
To meet sometime
It would be so nice
It would be so nice
It would be so nice
To meet sometime

Pink Floyd It Would Be So Nice Comments
  1. D.... G....

At first I thought this song was just kind of silly, but after listening a few times I really enjoy it. It has that FLoyd thing of being very depressing music but sounding upbeat, and I love the pyschidelic sounding parts before it goes into the verse. A wonderful little time capsule to 1968 (not that I was alive at that time). I dig it. Thumbs up.

  2. M.... A....

    The lyrics are sad :(

  3. A.... L....

Blur was influenced for Pink Floyd

  4. D.... A....

    Nice song.

  5. L.... S....

See Emily Play And Arnold Layne And It Would Be See Nice Are All In The Same Fairytale Lsd Land

  6. d.... m....

I don t understand people who spit on this song, Richard Wright is a pure genius of songwriting, this song and his author deserve respect

  7. B.... ....

This is a gem. Wright out-barretted Barrett I reckon

  8. .... P....

This is going onto my summer playlist

  9. T.... B....

it would be so nice if this was remixed in stereo

    T.... B....

The multitrack masters were junked not long after the mono mixdown master was created. Point Me At The Sky suffered a similar fate. I find it odd that the multitrack masters for those songs were junked but the multitrack masters of their B sides (Julia Dream and Careful With That Axe, Eugene) were spared long enough to create true stereo mixes of them.

  10. S.... ....

One of the only Floyd songs that I actually hate. Curious, it was put alongside my favorite Floyd song.

    S.... ....

But I like this song ):

  11. S.... M....

This low-key sounds like a "Pet Sounds"-era Beach Boys song

  12. J.... K....

    R.I.P. Richard Wright. :(

  13. J.... G....

DAVID YELLING AT THE END OMG ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

    J.... G....

That's definitely Rick belting at the end, possibly the only example of him singing that way too

    J.... G....

    It’s Rick!

  14. n.... 1....

Reminiscent of Spinal Tap's "Flower People"

  15. p.... ....

Lots of UK bands tried this sound at the time. Kinks, Small Faces to name a few. Definitely a different and interesting tune. Wall of Sound like production.

  16. J.... m....

una buena imitación de los Beach Boys.

  17. J.... K....

Sounds like it was all kicking off right at the very end when the guitar cuts loose in the fade.

    J.... K....

i wanted to hear more of the guitar :(

  18. C.... ....

That "no one knows what I did today" part is pure bliss

  19. R.... ....

"There is no other day. Let's try it another way". ('See Emily Play')
"There can be no other way". ('It Would Be So Nice')

    R.... ....

    Nice one !

    R.... ....

    Élie Arsenault Whimsical Parallels!

    R.... ....

    nice catch mate

    R.... ....

"There's No Other Way" - Blur.

  20. M.... F....

I believe this is the only Rick Wright song where, at the end, Rick lets himself go and belts out the vocals. This tune is an underrated and often overlooked Pink Floyd gem.

    M.... F....

At the end the high tuned part is sung by David Gilmour.

  21. y.... ....

I thought this was one of their greatest songs they've ever made. It's so innocent and just... sweet and sugary! X3

  22. A.... S....

Seems to be Rick's attempt at writing in the style of Syd after not knowing which direction to take. The Beach Boys experienced this as well after Brian Wilson abandoned his role of leader.

  23. A.... G....

1 of The Beatles style songs of them

    A.... G....

    Beach Boys

  24. A.... H....

My favourite of the early singles. Still have all 5 of them!

  25. j.... r....

    so fucking nice,great song

  26. F.... J....

Reminds me of the Wiggles or a song you an give your little children to listen to

  27. J.... W....

    Very bad song.

    J.... W....

    For you.

  28. H.... P....

  30. Z.... H....

Rick Wright allegedly hated this song. But, then again, he was always his own toughest critic.

    Z.... H....

Zach Haywood Can't blame him, it's quite silly. Not that I think that's a bad thing, mind you.

    Z.... H....

I think it's much better than the boring 'Wearing the Inside Out' (1994).

    Z.... H....

Are you kidding? "Wearing the Inside Out" is a beautiful masterpiece, so deep and emotional. By the way I also like "It Would Be So Nice".

    Z.... H....

    Zach Haywood how dyou know?

    Z.... H....

    Interviews and magazine articles.

  31. T.... B....

Death wouldn't be so bad. Then I could reside with my Pink Floyd friends upstairs.... Man, it would be so nice

    T.... B....

The Batman BEAUTIFUL COMMENT. Blessings..R.i.p Syd Barrett

  32. o.... i....

    best pf song

  33. R.... D....

why is this song in mono, and the B-side "Julia Dream" in stereo?

    R.... D....

I guess it's because 'Julia Dream' appeared in a stereo mix on the compilation 'Relics' (1971).

  34. J.... F....

The band hated this song, but I love it so much.

    J.... F....

A fun little rarity, indeed! R.I.P., Mr. Wright.

    J.... F....

they hated it? what the hell?

    J.... F....

It deserve to be heard more than it is actually known. I can hear the Move & the Moody Blues of those days that could have influenced them here (but Pink Floyd probably influenced those two bands too... could be unconscious exchange )
I hestitate to put this song in my '68 playlist on youtube as well (competition is rough)

    J.... F....

    Me too, or properly said:
    "So do I".

  35. S.... ....

The last days of english psychedelia. Delightful number from Rick Wright.

  36. s.... b....

    😄😄😄very nice

  37. I.... ....

I love this song so much!!
