Pickett, Wilson - Something You Got Lyrics
Something you got
Makes me work all day
Something you got
Makes me bring home and pray
Something you got, oh
Well I say my my, oh whoa
I love you so
Something you got
Keeps me home every night
Something you got
Makes everything alright
Something you got
Honey you ought to know
I say my my, oh whoa
Something you got
Honey you ought to know
I say my my, oh whoa
I love you so
Something you got
Keeps my home every night
Something you got
Makes everything alright
Something you got
Honey you ought to know, alright now
I say my my, oh
My my, oh
My my, oh
I love you so
My my, whoa oh
Mama, oh oh
My my, oh whoa

Pickett, Wilson Something You Got Comments
Chris Kenner (with help from Allen Toussaint) wrote the original
Great compilation. Many thanks.
A great version of a great song written by Chris Kenner. Another really dope version is by Neil Darrow (who seems basically unknown, I can hardly find anything on this guy, but damn he could sing). Darrow's version is from 1965 I believe. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mmy3Crln3aY
Love this version and of course Eddie Floyd's version. Aces!
That "Wicked Picket" let it all hang out. Now that is music to my ears!

Love this song. Remade by several other artists. Nothing pathetic about it. Amazing singers can sing anything and it will be fantastic!

hardees commericial brought me here------- great stuff
Carl's Jr. commercials brought me here.
Im'm not sure about the rap group, I'm actually into classic rock and heavy metal, but I have always loved old r&b like Wilson Pickett, Sam and Dave, etc. I think this music inspired all kinds of future musicians.
I saw the same Hardee's tv spot also. I remember the rap group Brand Nubian used it on that song " AIN'T NO MYSTERY'
I heard this song in a Hardee's commercial and thought it sounded like Wilson Pickett even though I wasn't sure. Typed it up on YouTube to see if I was right and I was. I'm glad I was because this is a great song.
Great Steve Cropper guitar part, too - thanks for posting.
I'm not hearing Cropper here...
@Keith Randall well there is a gtr heard all the time
