Pianos Become The Teeth - Blue Lyrics

Would you believe it?
I'm a family man now
And here's your boy's boy
All blue eyed and stubborn, I wonder
Where's he get it all from?
This sandy honey hair?
This hell of a temper?
I never knew mine
He'll never know his
But it's so good to see you again

So haunt a little more
Been so long since you've been here with us

Would you believe it?
Family man now
It's about time
His first years, his first snow, it's perfect
Yeah it's beautiful when he talks to you
He's sleeping in your room, go meet him
Keep him warm tonight

So haunt a little more
So long, it's time to put you to bed
Haunt, take out your teeth
So long, just put the worry away
Laugh and let go
It's time for you to rest

We're alive but tired
We all agree he's got your eyes
After all this time
We all agree he's got your eyes
In a certain light
We all agree he's got your eyes
And I could die
To see him sitting by your side

Increible, esta me cautivo en todos los aspectos. Soy fan de Pianos desde hace años y siguen siendo una de mis bandas favoritas. Espero verlos en vivo pronto. Muy hermosa y emotiva canción.

I view pianos's direction especially from the the earlier past albums of screaming...the vocalist is in pain and anger and he yelled his words before and from the last album to this one he's sings now with the melody due to him not being as angry and growing with the circumstances in his life. To me this makes sense and i see beauty in it all.

    thank you

Is this about his son or about his own father?

    N.... V....

It's about both, it's about him having to move on from being depressed about his fathers death and focus on his own life. He has a son of his own now. "We all agree he's got your eyes and I could die, to see him sitting by your side" He just wants to see his father with his son but never will be able to. Anyone who has had a parent die can relate to this and it hit me very hard. My interpretation of "So haunt a little more so long, it's time to put you to bed" is that he's speaking about his father and his son. He wants his father to know his son even if it's in a dream or while he's asleep. At the same time I think this line refers to putting his depression over his fathers sickness and death to bed in order to move on and be there for his son.

I could be wrong this is just how I interpreted the song.

Okay, I figured it was along something on those lines. Makes it even more sad

ahmano Fucking gorgeous. These guys are the best post hardcore band out right now.

    a.... ....

    Not post hardcore anymore tho.

    a.... ....

Törzsök Szilveszter Isn't that what "post" hardcore means, after hardcore.

    a.... ....

it's not lol it's a genre by itself, not just whatever they did after playing hardcore. i guess you can just call them emo/indie rock

First impression: That was the only track that felt like it has any (emotional) tension in it. I thought they were exploring density in more softer realms and i was excited for that. Similar to La Dispute's - Rooms Of The House which was a surprisingly calm album, but songs like Woman (In Mirror) or Objects in Space held my attention completely and sucked me into their mood. To me it appears that Pianos didn't explore, but abandoned their roots completely. Keep You always let The Lack Long After, Old Pride and even the Saltwater EP come through which created a great tension between soft/calm/reserved and rough/hard. But all the song on Wait for Love (besides Blue) feel like pop version copies of Keep You that are trying to reach a bigger crowd. Kinda disappointed :(

If i might be missing the whole point of the album, please give me a hint!

    K.... ....

I felt the same way you did. I have had the album on repeat as I do some really intensive work on my car and all i have to say it grew on me immensely. They always seem to create a sound that really messes with me in a good way.

    K.... ....

    thank you

    K.... ....

his mom is alive wtf. just his dad passed. Houses We Die In wasn't about Kyle's mom, it was about another band mate's parent with cancer

    K.... ....

@Daniel Gordon during that period most of the band had different people in it (they actually had a keyboardist who did secondary screams), I think it was in reference to the other performer.

    K.... ....

I actually appreciate the Rooms of the House comparison as that’s probably my personal favorite La Dispute album for my own reasons. But I understand your feelings on this album even though I disagree. They’re trying something new and I personally pull it off really well.

this was such a beautiful song

Right in my fucking feels. This album fixed me tbh
