I have seen the english translation but i do not understand what is her fault? was it that she loved him blindly or that she cheated on him? i am sorry but its a beautiful song and i would love to know the meaning....

This is an interesting question :-) I think she felt a buring love towards him and she would go thru it anytime again, doesn't matter what (she "sinned" 7 times and would do it again for him). That's how I always felt about this song :-)

In the song she confesses to committing each of the Seven Deadly Sins with/for her lover. Mea Culpa means "my fault" and it's part of our Catholic prayer of confession. . So, she asks for forgiveness, but says she will do it all again.

You made an incredible good job, you could read each Edith Piaf's movements in pictures and screen captures for this song, it's almost like to watch her singing on stage this beautiful song...Even you thought about the vision of the camera Wow! MEA CULPA a été écrite en 1954 par Michel RIVGAUCHE et Hubert GIRAULT pour le Concours de la Chanson Française de Deauville, où elle a gagné le grand prix cette année-là. Elle a été interprétée par des dizaines de chanteurs dont Mouloudji. Piaf l'a immédiatement mise à son répertoire puis a demandé à rencontrer l'auteur (M. Rivgauche) à qui elle a confié 2 musiques à mettre en paroles qui deviendront LES PRISONS DU ROY et LA FOULE. 14 autres suivront dont LES MOTS D'AMOUR, MON VIEUX LUCIEN, etc.
