Caught this at Wrigley and Nashville with Bobby then I got it again at the Gorge just last weekend for the first time since losing my mom...it hit very hard but in a special and somewhat warm and pleasant way. I was definitely thinking of her and was lucky to have close friends around to hug and embrace. I feel as though the people that rag on this song have not yet lost someone close to them and therefore it doesn't carry the same weight. Personally, I think this is one of the best songs Trey has ever written and I love him/the band even more because of it. Phellow phans, call your moms, dads and any loved ones and tell you how much you love them because you never know when that awful day might come. Sorry to be all maudlin and such but this song brings out such emotions...see you all at Curve and Dicks!

My fiance passed away suddenly in April 2016. I can 100% relate to this song. In fact, when the album came out, a lot of my friends contacted me to hear my opinion of the song. I love the song, some days it's hard to get through without getting emotional. I miss you, Brian

it would have been cool if Trey at 2:00 minutes where he briefly messes up a chord or 2 would have said "this song should get easier" as opposed to "this all should get easier but it never will" because I'm sure the song doesn't get easier being that it's about his sisters bout with cancer.Live ya Trey!!You bring so many smiles to my heart and to many others.What a beautiful human being and musician

My girlfriend of three years broke up with me a few months ago, and although I thought I had been making pretty good progress (which in hindsight i have), this song brought everything back to the surface. I really wish I would've been at the show when it debuted, but it still bores its way into your heart regardless. Might not have been there most amazing song of all time, which many phans seem to relentlessly enjoy pointing out, but nonetheless its quite beautiful and I thank Phish and the Marsh-man for bringing it into the world.

yur1pr1m3 it's weird being a huge phan but wont let people categorize me with other phans. I enjoy every single thing they put out. Whether its a badass carini or a slow waste or maybe dwd where trey misses a note or 2. I just dont understand why people freak out. I still dont know what people mean by a show that "sucked". :))

he wrote it for Big Boat sections about his sister. he wrote Joy about her also when she passed. Mike has played a different song by the same name in his band. don't be so rude.

I heard this song debut at Wrigley and have to say, it hit in a good way. Like everyone at every show, I was hoping for the party vibe (which they delivered night 2), and when the lyrics started I knew it was emotional, but I absolutely enjoyed the ride. I personally dig this song, especially in a live context, more than "Joy", so I'm glad for the addition.

Love that Trey's still expressing his feelings for his sister. You are all heart Red, love you pal.
