I dig a lot of the new effects trey is using, and the new leslie setup, wish the komet amp would go. Would love to hear the mark iii come back, or some vintage fenders for that smooth sound. Vintage vibroverb would be awesome I bet. Either way, great playing, greatest band.

new Guitar for trey? that's not the usual Koa Ocelot guitar

M Boyd koa 2 I believe, he hasn't had ocelot as main in years.

Not a new guitar....it was his first koa used primarily from late 96 through 03 then he picked it back up in 2016 and has been using it since except for a hand few of times

I’m not sure about Trey’s Komet amps. Not that they aren’t spectacular Trainwreck clones but I don’t know if that sound is right for Phish. I like the Mark III sound better. But maybe I’m just old school. Tough to beat the 90’s sound. IMO. Please don’t hate me.

John Sousa I been following Phish since 1989 and I’m a huge Guitar freak — this is the best trey tone ever IMO. So much presence, cuts right through no matter how subtle he’s playing and the highs don’t kill ya either - hard to get that balance - sounds Fkin amazing

I dont suppose there is a comparison to the sound that a non-guitarist could see? (and dont just say yeah '93 vs '13 vs '18 :)

My favorite Trey tone was when he used the vintage Fender Deluxe Reverbs.

I'm on the same page! There are times when the new amps really shine but I'm a 3.0 guy and wish I could hear the warmth and squash of the mid 90's tone. I did make it close to the rig at Dick's this summer and I will say the harmonics of the komets are really incredible. In the end I find myself wanting that mid heavy tone with the squash of the ross compressor... It's all phish and it's all great in the end.

Wow. The textures and sounds that Trey is getting out of the new rig really make the first part of this monster jam. If you're a DWD fan, this is a great listen.

This was the first song I heard by Phish by a local band when I was a freshman in high school at a senior graduation party. Been a fan ever since I heard them for the very first time. Also the first time I tripped and I was 14 it literally changed my life forever. I was lucky to be exposed to so much at a young age
