NOBODY can really say which percentage of a song makes it the hit that it becomes. To say that Shay does NOTHING is a bit overreaching.... That's like saying that Salt in a dish DOES NOTHING. It is a very small ingredient, but that does not mean that it does not have a very BIG EFFECT. I wasn't there, none of you were there... How can you say that Shay's involvement had little effect and that he therefore does Nothing! I respectfully disagree that it amounts to NOTHING! 

Interviews I've seen on here YT (see Neptunes in the studio) indicate that Shay definitely was involved in business meetings and some creative direction early on.  From what's shown he rarely gets songwriting or production credit and doesn't seem to sweat that.  He most likely is a personal and spiritual contributor moreso than artistic.

@Pirate7X Shay has production credits on some of the tracks on Nothing but before that not much at all.
