I really like this song taken from Isaiah. I do hold to the Psalms and hymnals as the music we should be singing on a regular basis and that we should not be "frenzied-up" by music with annoying repetitive lyrics and beats but always in our right mind in worship, singing of what a great redemption we have in Christ. This song by Petra may be one of my exceptions.

I have always loved this song! The first vocalist sounds very beautiful but the second one John, opens his voice Full Throttle to honor the Lord!

You can't help but want to fall on your knees in adoration of a Mighty Lord! I heard song when I was in my first year of seminary...the effect is the same! Even so, come Lord Jesus!

I always liked to do cheesy interpretive dance to this song. I wonder how many people tried out a church and when the congregation sang this they got creeped out and never came back.

I did an interpretive dance to it when I was younger. Probably more than 25 years ago. It wasn't a song that was sang in any of the churches that we went to. The church that we attended where I danced, the congregation appreciated it.

Well, it can't be proven wrong, because it's infallible, I can not, nor can any other human prove it wrong. We could learn literally everything there is to learn and you could still say there's a god we can't detect.

If you are going to pity me, do it only because I have no hope in changing your mind.

We know when, where and who created Christianity, we can track it's history, we know why we are inclined to believe it, we know how it spread. We know about human psychology and why humans are inclined to "believe".

The only reason you believe it, is because you were taught it. If you were born in Saudi Arabia you would believe in Islam instead. As many do, if you were born in India you might be Hindu, in Thailand and you would be Buddhist. These people are just as certain as you are.

But they are all wrong. Human's are really bad at dealing with information. Let me give you an example, you can test your friends with this.

What colour is the sun? Pick before you read on.


Now, I have a hunch that you would say yellow. So now, you can go and google that and learn what colour it is and why you thought it was yellow.

But if you come back and still insist that when looked at directly the sun appears yellow, then you can pity me, because I can't teach you.

Half of the Baptist Hymnal is English pub songs-drinking music-with Christian lyrics replacing bawdy lyrics.Do you honestly think Fender Guitars and Marshall Amplifiers are forged in the fires of Hell or something? Stick around a few hundred years and Petra's "More Power To Ya" will sound like Handel's "Messiah". Or check out Kerry Livgren's "Seeds of Change"-Ronnie James Dio is on it.

I love this song. Such a beautiful message. All of Petra's music has such a deepness to it. Petra's music has made such an impact on my family over the last 25 years. My son's and daughter grew up listening to everyone of their albums-CD's. I'm so glad they listened to God, and blessed the world with it. I love John Schlitt's voice! Thanks guys!!

@TTedford75 I couldn't agree more. Jesus Himself was scorned by the ones He came to save. Forgiveness is hard to fully understand when you have not completely submitted yourself to God. As Christians we are called to be like Christ as an example to those who do not know Him. In order to do that, we have to let the Holy Spirit transform us so that our default position, when being mocked or facing derision, is compassion and love vs anger and judgement or else Satan gets what he wants.

Kutless touches a lot of todays youth and their sound is what alot of young folks like and want but Petra recorded the original and folks, there has never been a better Christian band than Petra. All their musicians were mastes of their craft and played to the glory of our Lord. Thank God in His wisdom that He provided a band like Petra to bless me as a young Christian and now provides a band like Kutlass to bless folks my daughter and grand daughters age. God is wisdom and God is love.

We that were blessed to have had Dave as a friend at Victory Bible Fellowship also were blessed to be upon the first to be swipe up in the Holy Spirit was we worship Jesus through this song. What a moving that was for all of us and a call to accountability, relationship with Jesus and His Body of Followers and the world.
