Peterson, Andrew - Invisible God Lyrics

I give you praise, O Great Invisible God
For the the moon in the space of the dark night
For the smile on a face in the sunlight

I give you praise, O Great Invisible God
For the sound of the storm on the window
For the morning adorned with a new snow
For the tears on the face of the old man
Made clean by the grace of the good Lamb
Invisible God

And oh, I long to see your face
Invisible, Invisible God
All the works that you have made
Are clearly seen and plain as day
So mighty and tender
O Lord, let me remember

That I see you everywhere
Invisible God
In the seed that descends to the old earth
And arises again with a new birth
In the sinner who sinks in the river
And emerges again, delivered
Invisible God

And oh, I long to see your face
Invisible, Invisible God
All the works that you have made
Are clearly seen and plain as day
So mighty and tender
O Lord, let me remember

Your power eternal, your nature divine
All creation tells the tale
That Love is real and so alive
I feel you, I hear you
Great God Unseen I see you
Invisible God

In the long, cold death that the winter brings
And the sweet resurrection
Spring
Invisible God

Lovely and beautiful, I'm so glad Andrew Peterson has made, and is making such deep, wonderful music. You can sense God in the lyrics, the music, the voices. I hope Andrew knows how much his songs are appreciated. If you're reading this Andrew, THANK YOU.

I have been in the deep fog of grief this last month dealing with the deaths of both of my brothers within 2 weeks of each other. My dear friend knows how much music ministers to me and she sent me some of your music. This specific song, about our Invisible God who is all around us, ministered so wonderfully to my broken spirit. How great is our God to speak to us in so many magnificent ways. As I sat out on my brother's back porch after he died, it was early morning and I was reading God's Word. I heard a whooshing sound and looked up. A hawk flew past me and landed almost silently into the fork of the tree closest to where I was sitting, about 10 feet away from me. He was right at my eye level and he slowly turned his head and gazed directly into my eyes. I held my breath and time felt as if it stood still. He then turned and just stepped off of the tree, unfurled his wings and just glided down into the woods. I just sat there amazed at God's grace to allow me to witness such a beautiful moment between just He and I. It was as if by this communion with one of His majestic creatures that He was telling me my brother was with Him. I was at peace.

One of my favorite songs! thanks for uploading :-) It reminds me of God's majestic personality- so awesome and strong when expressed in the giant mountain-tops and redwood forests, yet so gentle and humble when expressed in His creation of an innocent butterfly. Christ is beautiful -there is no one like Him xoxo
