Peterson, Andrew - Flesh And Blood Lyrics

Flesh and blood, born a babe
Flesh and blood, you lived and breathed
Amazing love, you came and gave
Your flesh and blood to set me free

So, Halleluhah for the bread it is His body
And the wine it is the blood that binds us now
And the living bread remains the Communion of the Saints
Sing the mystery of faith, flesh and blood

Flesh and blood, you are my children
Flesh and blood, if you believe
So, take this cup, and when you taste
My flesh and blood, remember me

So, Halleluhah for the bread it is His body
And the wine it is the blood that binds us now
And the living bread remains the Communion of the Saints
Sing the mystery of faith, flesh and blood

We remember blessed Jesus, we remember
God help us all if ever we forget
How the author of the story
Cast off His crown of glory
For a crown of thorns
And flesh and blood

So, Halleluhah for the bread it is His body
And the wine it is the blood that binds us now
And the living bread remains the Communion of the Saints
Sing the mystery of faith

We remember blessed Jesus, we remember - bread it is your body
God help us all if ever we forget - blood that binds us now

And the living bread remains the Communion of the Saints
Sing the mystery of faith, flesh and blood

so much better than the borderline gnostic, heretical tripe of Silent Night

    Kitt Horton

    borderline gnostic, heretical? Do tell

  4. Sophia K

i agree with bornagain2day. We like to think it as a silent night but it obveously was not and this song explains it

I think it might be nice to have another verse talking about Jesus' labor of love, since he's the main point?

    Sarah Curry

He is the main point, absolutely. However, this song is just a chapter within the full story of Jesus' birth. In fact, this album ends with his birth. I think it is a beautiful way to tell the big picture story of why Jesus came!

  8. Waldo Funck

God receives this time of fullness as my love for you

  9. bornagain2day

Sometimes it is hard not to think of the Bible as just a story. I mean we do tend to think of it as a "silent night", we like to paint what we want to see over what we don't want to see...

bornagain2day I totally agree. Even as Christians, we gloss over this.
