Peter, Paul And Mary - Mon Vrai Destin Lyrics

Silly people should stop their petty and sterile generalization.

  6. B.... b....

WHO CARES WHAT THE FROGS SAY? MOST ANNOYING, WHINERS IN THE WORLD...THEY SHOULD BE FLATTERED BY PPM.

  8. L.... ....

I am french, and I think the lyrics of this song are very beautiful and full of grace. ♥

  9. h.... ....

Well, If I spoke English, and a French group sang a lovely song to me in their best attempt at my language....I would be honored and grateful........

  10. o.... ....

Have you found this already? I thought it would be easy, but the only way i found was to google the title and get the lyrics in French, and then translate using the computer (just right click and then click on Translate to English on mine) Such a pretty song, eh?

  11. E.... C....

Is there an English translation of these words?

    E.... C....

This is what I found on a website...

In my dreams, I hear a voice,
Which says to me "Don't cry."
What a shame (i.e., too late), my eyes are clear springs.
In my dreams, I hear a voice,
Which says to me, "Don't suffer."
What a shame, my soul isn't stone.
But the voice of my visions
Doesn't know the sadness of man(kind).
Until the bells (clock tower) announce, always, my true destiny.
In our house, fragile and grey,
We share the dream of life,
And the moon shines on, over our innocence (ignorance).
In a world full of nothing
    Promises are like the wind,
And the sun often is lost behind clouds.
    Don't leave me again,
    Don't let me go.
Until the bells announce, always, my true destiny.

Peter & Paul used to talk with fans after concerts. Great guys!

    t.... ....

    tallorder9 they still do!

  13. l.... ....

    Silly French. C'est vrai.

  14. C.... ....

I think the song has such a nice sound to it. Instead of criticizing it, the French should say, "look, someone thinks our language is musical and lyrical and worth singing." Their wine glass is half empty.

  15. 3.... ....

I remember a French critic complaining about the "irritating vesperal sound of PPM".

  16. K.... ....

    awesome!!!!!!

  17. L.... ....

    Beautiful song !
Peter's french accent is perfect !!!
    Thank you :)

  18. K.... L....

Peter wrote it and was justly proud of it. But when they performed it in Paris, the French though his french to be simple and his lyrics childish. Silly French.

    K.... L....

I've been trying to learn more about this song, thanks, this is the first place I found that Peter wrote it. Up till now it just said copyright Peter Paul and Mary.
