This version is a bit slow. The concert and live versions are much prettier. PP&M live is more polished. The tempo was a bit faster too which made it better.
My mother used to put on this tape for me in the car when I was a kid. The bit about the house on fire and the children burning always seemed so morbid and out of place to me and it still does!
Ring around the rosie was morbid too, but that has nothing to do with PP&M.
It always freaked me out too
But then again they are singing about a man who bumped his head and died
If you think about it a whole lot of traditional nursery rhymes are really depressing and violent...
