Peter, Paul And Mary - Bamboo Lyrics
You take a stick of bamboo,
you take a stick of bamboo,
you take a stick of bamboo,
you throw it in the water,
Oh, oh, Hanaah.
You take a stick of bamboo,
you take a stick of bamboo,
you take a stick of bamboo,
you throw it in the water,
Oh, oh, Hanaah.
River, she come down.
River, she come down.
You travel on the river,
you travel on the river,
you travel on the water,
Oh, Oh, Hanaah.
You travel on the river,
you travel on the river,
you travel on the river,
you travel on the water,
Oh, Oh, Hanaah.
River, she come down.
River, she come down.
My home's across the river,
my home's across the river.
My home's across the river,
my home's across the water.
Oh, Oh, Hanaah.
My home's across the river,
my home's across the river.
My home's across the river,
Oh, Oh, Hanaah.
River, she come down.
River, she come down.
You take a stick of bamboo,
you take a stick of bamboo,
you take a stick of bamboo,
you throw it in the water.

Peter, Paul And Mary Bamboo Comments
I was born with their songs floating around our rather dysfunctional home.as a very young child of perhaps three I remember thinking that Mary Travers. Peter And Paul. Had to be my actual parents..as an aging baby boomer the memorie of that thought still makes me smile..
This is my favorite song well actually that's not true the whole album is my favorite song I think my mom got it for me when I was three years old I could tell you every Nuance to every scratch on the whole album as in vinyl thank you so much for the Memories
Took 32 yrs to realize they are not saying bumble.... smh.
My Mom bought this record when I was a kid , and we played it over and over . P, P & M were part of the soundtrack of my childhood . They are special to me.
For me it was their best of album, for the song "Puff the Magic Dragon." I began playing some of my dad's albums and eventually started listening to The Kingston Trio as well. Then I heard my cousin's Ted Nugent records and left folk behind.
This was my fav song when I was 5. I'm 59 now and I still love it.
Me too! I'm 50, but I remember falling asleep to this song and I always loved the way it transported me. Never get tired of it. My mother had all their music, and I have lost her very recently. So now the music breaks my heart a little bit.
Lol I said something very similar
well, it's cooly soothing!
grade 4 music, 90s
It's uniquely sweet and simple
6th grade music class.
WE SANG THIS SONG IN LOWER MANHATTEN INTHE 50'S
We use to sing this song in young life in the 80's....love it We sang is at homestead young life!!! MIKE & Cindy
i really wish kanye west would cover this!
I hope you are kidding. My impression is he has no concept of folk music.its only about money for most so called musicians today.not the messege
I can't remember, it was the kind that fades pretty soon. Most likely I was hearing an alternative version of the song, one that sounds nothing like this one... maybe kind of distorted or something like that. That would be a typical song-dream for me.
What happened in the dream?
I had a dream about this song last night!
I hope it didn't make you pee.
