Peter Gabriel - Down To Earth Lyrics
Did you think that your feet had been bound
By what gravity brings to the ground?
Did you feel you were tricked
By the future you picked?
Well, come on down
All these rules don't apply
When you're high in the sky
So come on down
Come on down
We're coming down to the ground
There's no better place to go
We've got snow up on the mountains
We've got rivers down below
To hear the birds sing in the trees
And the land will be looked after
We send the seeds out in the breeze
Did you think you'd escaped from routine
By changing the script and the scene?
Despite all you made of it
You're always afraid of the change
You've got a lot on your chest
Well, you can come as my guest
So come on down
Come on down
We're coming down to the ground
There's no better place to go
We've got snow up on the mountains
We've got rivers down below
We're coming down to the ground
We'll hear the birds sing in the trees
And the land will be looked after
We send the seeds out in the breeze
Like the fish in the ocean
We felt at home in the sea
We learned to live off the good land
We learned to climb up a tree
Then we got up on two legs
But we wanted to fly
Oh, when we messed up our homeland
And set sail for the sky
We're coming down to the ground
There's no better place to go
We've got snow upon the mountains
We got rivers down below
We're coming down to the ground
We'll hear the birds sing in the trees
And the land will be looked after
We send the seeds out in the breeze
We're coming down
Comin' down to earth
Like babies at birth
Comin' down to earth
Redefine your priorities
These are extraordinary qualities
We're coming down to the ground
There's no better place to go
We've got snow upon the mountains
We've got rivers down below
We're coming down to the ground
We'll hear the birds sing in the trees
And the land will be looked after
We send the seeds out in the breeze
We're coming down to the ground
There's no better place to go
We've got snow upon the mountains
We've got rivers down below
We're coming down to the ground
We'll hear the birds sing in the trees
And the land will be looked after
We send the seeds out in the breeze
Redefine your priorities
These are extraordinary qualities
To find on earth
Comin' down, comin' down
Comin' down, comin' down
Comin' down, comin' down
Comin' down, comin' down

I was too young to know Peter Gabriel made this for the film, when I watched it, but now I do now!
Es bellísima QwQ
Idk why this song gives me some strange vibes
is that nostalgia i hear?
I always thought Randy Newman sang this, apparently not
2020 I can’t get tired of this movie.
I love this sooong!!!!
I wish there was a female version bc the notes are to low for meh 😅😅😅
I love wall-e it’s my fave
This song just makes me think about how fast life goes by. i was like 8 or 9 when i watched Wall-E for the first time. now I'm 17 and just about to start year 12 in a couple weeks...... like holy shit what happened to time
I remember being the only kid in the theater excited to hear Peter Gabriel
Awesome song then and forevermore. And on a Rhodes.
The first pixar movie I ever watched
It's beautiful, Ironically I just watch Wall•E on my way home from Nashville, and I wanted to find this song.
One of many good movies of the 2010s
I was surprised that this song was created by Gabriel after looking up this song 11 years later.
WALL-E. A deeply touching and inspiring movie that not only manages to have good humor and tell a good story, but also teach us an important lesson that no animated movie can top. We need to take care of Earth, or else it will become a wasteland. It also manages to tell a story for the first half of the movie not by dialogue, but by emotion. WALL-E truly is a creative touchstone, landmark, and achievement in animation history.
I was watching the behind the scenes and it's really fascinating! I always love everything about wall E. This is one of my favourite movies I have always grown up with, I watched it for my birthday and I cried several times, I got the wall E transforming cube that my mum searched all over for as stocks were low. I loved it, my mum didn't know if she could trust me not to break him and loose parts to magnetic eve, but I loved him more than anything, I slept with him despite getting hit by him when I toss and turn. My love for him was even more worth it when mum bought my oldest brother a harry potter chess set he wanted, more difficult for mum to find - and he didn't even play it at Christmas. It was maybe played with once or twice, then beried in his wardrobe for eternity. Mum was disappointed of him. She was thrilled I loved my wall E and eve. I cried when I was older and he was broken by someone I knew. I could have had him to this day but don't sadly. Buying another isn't the same you know?
Researching it today was so nice. I remembered all the sounds and music that was supposed to be played in each scene and it was beautiful. Normally I accidentally take all the sounds for granted but after watching the movie, burn E and Presto, I watched and listened to the deleted scenes and how Andrew Stanton and other amazing Disney producers produced the sounds carefully to impact emotion through the characters to the audience, making us feel sad, happy, etc. I am so thankful that this movie wad made and released to the world and I hope everyone gives it more love and credit over time ^_^
My favorite movie as child, and still my favorite pixar movie,i always watch the credits because i thought this music was cool even if i didn't understand anything, damn i missed my childhood.
ここ本人のチャンネルなんだ…初めて知った……
WALL-Eのお陰であなたを、この曲を知れました。ありがとうございます。
I uncovered a long lost memory with this song. I missed it so much.
I'm not crying I've got foreign contaminate in my eyes!!
I just realized this is the pig in the city guy
We should play this the day we leave the earth by the errors of the human race
Cute robot. 💙
Wall-e is the best
*The Imperium of Man* : "All AI are abominable."
*Sees Wall-E*
*Imperium of Man* : "Ok...maybe not ALL AI....."
This song reminds me of exile vilify from portal 2, in fact wall e reminds of portal itself
When man first stepped on the moon no one would have believed that the rocket would turn into a starship......and I'm talking about......the BFR......but the real meaning for starships........they always come back......but they can't come back.....until the mission is completed.......the BFR is a one way trip......but starships are infinite.....a home.....away.....from home
In loving memory of Justin Wright 1981-2008.
What is your secret for always staying Down to Earth?
*"Gravity"*
Peter Gabriel: “Down to Earth”
Me: ok, I’ll go to my basement
We are singing the song for the winter song, well, part of it
Thank you Pixar for making my childhood awesome
If wall-e was a world in kingdom hearts this would probably be the field theme.
Phil Collins(Tarzan) vs Peter gabriel(wall e)
holy fuck do you hear this dad? Peter was one of your favorites...i miss you
I wish it were a Wall.E 2
😭😢
This song makes me want to stay on earth and enjoy it and never think about leaving it
Okay so I'm trying to become an astronaut. And I know that the astronaut's can request "one last song" before sent into space. If I ever reach my goal of becoming an astronaut and if I'm ever going to be sent into space, I know what song I want to hear before leaving. This song reminds me so much of my childhood, and how much I loved WALL-E, I still do. One of the most amazing movies I've ever seen, if not the best. So many great memories from such a small thing. And I still hold onto that one quote from it, "I don't want to survive, I want to live."
Ultra Arool good luck with your dream pal
This is like Earths national anthem
Perfect! https://youtu.be/5xGBwD0fgNY
This song used to be the one thing that was guaranteed to put my younger boy to sleep.
Today he is dedicated to fighting fascists and alleviating the destruction of the ecosphere. I give Peter Gabriel and WALL-E at least a portion of the credit.
WALL•E is not a movie about the environment, and how we need to protect it, its not about all that
Thats a major theme but, WALL•E is a cute robot love story and it makes my jaded heart melt
I’m only a young lad of 60 , but it’s only a # . Big fan since Genesis , beautiful Song
Que buena musica
Brings back so many memories
I remember a time where I watched this film every day after school, no days missing, much simpler times, I still never get bored of this film, that's the best part
BELLISSIMA!!!!💕💕💕💕
Who’s here from Disney+
Ahhhh when this movie was on Netflix 😎😎😎😎
I always loved WALL•E, one of the all time-best PIXAR productions, but I never realised Peter Gabriel is singing this song!
2019 anyone?
"Did you think you'd escaped from routine
By changing the script and the scene?"
Most videogames nowadays
This song was deep in my memory, and I finally peiced it to this today.
Nostalgia
From The Emoji Movie (2017, 2019 UK re-release).
Down to Texas City
This is the first movie to make me feel sadness for the first time
It gave us all an inspiration of one person changing an entire society’s ways
I may sound like a baby but we all can agree that wall.e was the best movie we’ve seen, and that it will some peoples favorites
I had no idea Peter Gabriel wrote this
I remember hearing this on the radio when this movie was new 11 years ago! Jeez! I’m not even old enough to drive and I remember this 11 years ago!

This song made me cry honestly, so much nostalgia stuffed in one song
This movie is a masterpiece this song was my childhood
This should be the first song played on earth2 or the last song on our earth
I remember watching this movie as a kid with my grandma grandpa and cousin in 2008 i was like 7-10 at my Summer home in morpeth Ontario Canada
Waste Allocation Load Lifter - Earth
Has to be one of the prettiest intros to a song of all time. You know what I mean if you watched Wall-E watch over Eve. It sounds weird, but I'm not the only one thinking it
It's a beautiful song I always cry in the end
E-Eevaa

When I was young I watch this movie. Today I did it again, I miss this movie 😢
I'm not a fan of G rated movies but this is a masterpiece dark setting beautiful ending and this song made me cry first seeing this if you have not seen wall E then I recommend you watch it
Genesis was much better when Peter was in it, their seventies period was amazing.
Eu gosto muito desse filme até tenho o DVD e o livro
Me when I'm 80
My great-grandchildren: What was music like when you were little?
Me: Sit down children. Let me tell you about the year of 2008..
I am Unicron I don’t think any kids would ask that now that the internet’s here
Let’s face it this movie was a he’d of it’s time and this song
The saddest thing about the ending was knowing that the crew of the Axiom probably died within a year because they had no idea or concept of agriculture or animal husbandry.
*very calm ending to a great song*
*2 seconds later*
someBODY ONCE TOLD ME THE WOR-
gonna make a 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐄
When I was little I honestly thought this was Randy Newman
Unfortunately, it has come to the point where it would be good for humans to fly to the sky so we can stop effing littering and putting waste in the oceans. The Amazon forest has been burning for days and no one, not one single person, has done or said anything about it. This movie is sooo underrated not just about love and acceptance but about earth itself. We try so hard to upgrade earth into something better and it doesnt turn into that, we will so be like the Earth in WALLE, we will soon all go extinct ourselves instead of just animals. Now for the love of god, save the damn planet.
I remember just listening to this back in 2008 when I wacthed this alot
Endlich hab Ich das gefunden, aber mit Wall-E hab ich jetzt nicht gerechnet :D naja super film geiles lied
A very unappreciated song. But by the time this came out, artist like Peter Gabriel weren't being playing on Top 40 radio.
This is one of my favorite songs. I am just sad it took me this long to find the name of it.
