Awesome. Perry was a very very underrated singer. He makes it look easy and he sings this with such soul it cuts right through to the soul! Owns it. Just sublime. RIP master.

Side note:Nickname,Ellen,s dritter Gesang-German"Ellen,s third Song".A really beautiful,and spiritual song.And once again,a truly great performance by the late Perry Como.God bles his very fine,sweet memory,my friends.

Decent singer, but not even close, to the range needed for this.

Cuomo and Williams both sang this and beautifully in their own original crooning voices: Are there those more powerful who sing these songs? Perhaps but they don't make it as effortless and soothing by the sheer ups and downs of a simple vocal.

I have a four octave range but I couldn't possibly sing this any lovelier than he did.  So many singers think that they have to be powerful and scream. His gentleness and reverance is what makes this so beautiful.

@Lori Greene I just think that the simple vocal and Perry made it look absolutely effortless in how he delivered a lyric and a song can sometimes be as beautiful, as emotionally moving as any extremely powerful vocal. I think Perry always evoked emotion in the way he manipulated his voice and went from his range of hi's to lows. Thanks for your comment. I'm sure you have a lovely voice as well! Happy Holidays!

Listen to his 57 version. As he got older, he lost his projection, but Ave Maria practically belongs to Perry Como.

Hm, I think that version worse than others...Mr. Como was very old at this moment. But you can watch its in Como's Christmas in Ireland, I uploaded this show.

Cost: He was 66 in 1978. He was senior but hardly very old.
He was very old when he died at 89 in 2001.
