This song is a song that reminds me of my brother. He passed in Oct 24th, 2018. He found out he had cancer and within a month he was gone. This song was one of his favorite songs. We used to listen to this before he got sick. He would tell me what these lyrics meant to him, and how he applied it to his life. He loved APC and Tool. This will forever be his song. I would, when I was 14, always listen to this album at night, waiting for my friends to come knock on my window. I can't quite explain how good it felt, to see their faces at my bedroom window, and to have these songs in my headphones. I will always remember looking up when they knocked and their smiles. I was in a foster home for being seriously abused- locked in a cage and beaten like an animal by my psychopathic father. I don't know how I survived the years there. But all my fear and pain were gone the moment I saw my first friends through a window, that I was about to climb out of. Good god you guys. I can't believe I am still alive. I joined the military to escape foster care and group homes. I decided to kill myself while in Afganistan. I had been given an Ipod with lots of Tool on it and I decided I loved music so much I would listen to Lateralus before I killed myself in the humvee. Then "We are eternal, all this pain is an illusion" came through the headphones and into my mind for the first time. I never spoke of this before emailing Danny Carry about it - letting him know that Tool literally kept me alive in the most horrible place I have ever been. I'm a little late to the APC and Tool band wagon. I like to think that I wasn't musically mature for truly great music, but however, due to unfortunate ear/hearing issues and degrading quality of hearing (due to middle ear infections which permanently damaged my hearing) when I listen to these bands, so does everyone else! So in a way, I'm helping to spread these great tunes from these great artists!

A Perfect Circle and Tool they just go deep inside; they tell a story that sometimes it gives you strength and sometimes it makes you feel melancholy but you like it because its a beautiful art with such a powerful voice.
