This song is about Herod ordering the slaughter of Jewish children two years old and younger in the city of Bethlehem and surrounding area in an attempt to prevent the Messiah from rising. Some mothers reportedly took to killing their children on their own to prevent any cruelty that Herod's men might commit. This song is from the perspective of the mothers.

Still, it's in connection with the birth of Jesus.. so take it as a commemoration (it is as you said, from the perspective of the mothers) but it do belongs to the "story". light & darkness

@JJMACADAMAUT this song is the lullaby of mothers who will loose their children to the slaughter of children by king herodes. It is the only known part of a christmas play that was lost after the reformation. Nothing for a 'club', exept if everybody is really ignorant.
