Peabo Bryson - Show And Tell Lyrics

These are the eyes that never knew how to smile
Till you came into my life

And these are the arms that long to lock you inside
Every day and every night

Girl, and here is the soul of which you've taken control
Can't you see I'm trying to show love is right

Show and tell
Just a game I play, when I want to say
"I love you"
Girl, so show me, and tell me
That you feel the same way too
Say you do, baby

These are the hands that can't help reaching for you
If you're anywhere inside

And these are the lips that can't help calling your name
In the middle of the night

And here is the man that needs to know where you stand
Don't you know I've done all I can, so decide

Show and tell
It's just a game I play, when I want to say
"I love you"
Girl, so show me, and tell me
That you feel the same way too
Say you do, say you do
Baby, baby, baby

Here is the soul of which you've taken control
Can't you see I'm trying to show love is right

Ooh, girl
Show and tell
Just a game I play, when I want to say
"Oh, I love you"
Girl, so show me, and tell me
That you feel the same way too
Say you do, say you do, baby

Show and tell
Just a game I play, when I want to say
"Oh, I love you"
Girl, so show me, and tell me
That you feel the same way too
Say you do, baby, baby, baby

Is anybody aware that this is a Johnny Mathis original? And Al Wilson;s version was recorded a few months after Johnny Mathis released his.

With due respect to Peabo who's one of my favorite artist, and certainly one of the best vocalist of his generation. But you're absolutely right son, no other remake has come remotely close to Al Wilson's own. However, it is remarkably nice to hear a young person of your generation loving a song that was probably released (1973) even before your parents were born.

though we have to remember this was originally recorded by Johnny Mathis. Al Wilson's version was recorded a few months after Johnny Mathis released his.

But I agree with you, this is an excellent cover. Giving it that 80s quiet storm update without severely altering the original arrangement

"Show And Tell" was originally first recorded by Johnny Mathis, which I love by the way! And of Course Al Wilson did it, which was also better. I love old school music and I'm only 23 years old.

OK but no where near al Wilson's version. I'm in my early 20's but I don't feel the soul as much in this version

Chris Rhone No doubt bruh. Al Wilson owned this song.

Peabo's vocals are top notch BUT this has late 1980s all over it right down to the sax.. lol. Al's had the funk soul of the 70s which makes it pure greatness
