Paul Simon - Señorita With A Necklace Of Tears Lyrics
I have a wisdom tooth
Inside my crowded face
I have a friend who is a born-again
Found his savior's grace
I was born before my father
We are born and born again
Like the waves of the sea
That's the way it's always been
And that's how I want it to be
Nothing but good news
There is a frog in South America
Whose venom is a cure
For all the suffering that mankind
Must endure
And soothing as the rain
A frog in South America
Has the antidote for pain
That's the way it's always been
And that's the way I like it
Some people never say no
Some people never complain
Some folks have no idea
And others will never explain
That's the way it's always been
That's the way I like it
And that's how I want it to be
That's the way it's always been
That's the way I like it
And that's how I want it to be
If I could play all the memories
In the neck of my guitar
I'd write a song called
"Señorita with a necklace of tears"
and every tear a sin I'd committed
oh these many years
That's who I was
That's the way it's always been
Some people always want more
Some people are what they lack
Some folks open the door
Walk away and never look back
I don't want to be a judge
And I don't want to be a jury
I know who I am
Lord knows who I will be
That's the way it's always been
That's the way I like it
And that's how I want it to be
That's the way it's always been
That's the way I like it
And that's how I want it to be

Paul Simon Señorita With A Necklace Of Tears Comments
I can still hear your guitar lines in the background Vincent Nguini. And Bakithi s bass line as well. My brothers from the land of "cattle in marketplace"
We are born and born again like the waves of deceit.
Did he not have a successful studio album in the 1990's?
Graceland was '86... Rhythm of the Saints, 1990... and a '97 album I am not familiar with: Songs From The Capeman. ... so sayeth Wiki.
He has raised the bar in quality. This level of craftsmanship cannot be graded by the tools at our disposal today.
Nothing but good news
Beautiful song. Genius songwriter Paul Simon.
I learnt Hearts and Bones recently which has a gorgeous guitar riff. The riff on this is also a really lovely one.
I haven't seen any tabs on the net for this song.
It's similar chords to Hearts and Bones.
Has anyone played the riff or know where a tab or tutorial might be?
Thanks xx
wow i didnt know Paul Simon made a song about Kambo :O the 2nd verse is directed to Kambo :O
Who is Kambo

Paul Simon is still around folks with a new album (2016) called Stranger to Stranger! Google it or search up the songs "The Werewolf", "Wristband" or "Cool Papa Bell" here on youtube. Why not look up all the songs on Spotify? The choice is yours!
Nothin but good news, good times
I've done jungle drugs and they're pretty rad
Me: Sitting on the beach in the Cayman Islands in 2002 listening to this album on my discman staring at the sea. haha, do they still make discman?
This album is inspiring and beautiful. I have a few awesome memories of listening to this on the west coast of Canada, looking out over the Pacific from Vancouver Island. Great song. Great memories.
Wonderful, Warren! I love how certain notes in a song or even a smell can take me right back to where I was at the time!
the good old days! I remember how excited I would be on the day a great CD would come out; how I would rush to the music millenium... Now all you have to do is roll over that morning and check to see if it's on google play....awesome, but that experience of ripping the plastic off of a new CD.. Taking your discman on vacation... they were amazing times.
@TheScaletIbisNW I still keep all of my mix tapes, just to remember. In a world of instant gratification it's nice to slow down a little..... and wait for the next track. lol, I'm not knockin youtube playlists.... I enjoy them... Yet you are so right. The whole meaning and commodification of music and the industry changes everything.
....I'm gonna go put on a mix tape right now.
+TheScaletIbisNW Just found this song. I am so old, I took the tape player to Mexico! I still order off of Amazon, as part of the thrill of new music is ripping the plastic sheath off of the disc, or tangling with the jewel case, and putting it in my player on the laptop with auxiliary speakers and cranking it up! Good music ought to be shared with the neighbors, lol.
Simon is musical genius! A Living Legend!
ALRIGHT THANK YOU FOR THIS. IT BRING THING INTO PROSPECTIVE.
@TrippyMcgee22 Yes they are. With no exception, Amazing master.

Wow! His lyrics speak deep to the soul! I love this
