Paul Simon - Crazy Love, Vol. II Lyrics
Fat Charlie the Archangel
Sliped into the room
He said I have no opinion about this
And I have no opinion about that
Sad as a lonely little wrinkled balloon
And I don't seem to be happy about that
I don't want no part of this crazy love
I don't want no part of your love
I don't want no part of this crazy love
I don't want no part of your love
I don't want no part of this crazy love
I don't want no part of your love
I don't want no part of this crazy love
I don't want no part of this crazy love
She says she knows about jokes
This time the joke is on me
Well, I have no opinion about that
And I have no opinion about me
Somebody could walk into this room
And say your life is on fire
It's all over the evening news
All about the fire in your life
On the evening news
I don't want no part of this crazy love
I don't want no part of your love
I don't want no part of this crazy love
I don't want no part of your love
Fat Charlie the Archangel
Files for divorce
He says well this will eat up a year of my life
And then there's all that weight to be lost
She says the joke is on me
I say the joke is on her
I said I have no opinion about that
Well, we'll just have to wait and confer
I don't want no part of this crazy love
I don't want no part of your love
I don't want no part of this crazy love
I don't want no part of your love
I don't want no part of this crazy love
I don't want no part of your love
I don't want no part of this crazy love
I don't want no part of this crazy love

Paul Simon Crazy Love, Vol. II Comments
We waited since lunch.....
After the title track I have to admit this might be my favorite on this masterpiece of an album. That minor chord in the verses...so damn moving.
I grew up as a little girl listening to this. My Mom (R.I.P) she really enjoyed this song and many more
ENICE. ROCK.

Where is volume 1?
TreesSmellLikeGreen by Van Morrison(unrelated).
Probably one of the greatest albums in the world imo
Bob Dylan called, he asked Paul how to write a song. 👌
There's no way vampire weekend didn't draw inspiration from this my goodness
brings back memories. did the whole concert in Zimbabwe 1987
In 88 I lived in the Mexican projects in California, I was 17 back then. We would listen to mostly urban music. We would go out and steal cars. The first thing I would do when I stole a car was turn the radio on to calm my adrenaline. One of those times I popped in this album since that’s what was in the car. It blew my mind. When it came to divvying up the belongings all I wanted was the music. This album made me feel that there was much more to life than what I was doing and experiencing. It made me want to go see the world and do better. This album will always be special to me.
Te salvó la vida, hermano.
Love the tenderness and the friendly kinsmanship feeling about the song.
I think it was inspired by Carrie Fisher
oooaaoooaaoooooo oooaaoooaoo... wait. wrong song.
OMG! He totally stole this from Vampire weekend!
Hmmmm...?
@Vanessa Rose ...funny? haha?
Got it!
@Vanessa Rose ;-)
The chorus just ruins a bit the classic beauty of the rest of this song. Next to the song Graceland the two gems of the album.
I love Vampire Weekend!

This is one of the greatest albums ever made. How can you not love it to bits?
This song especially is tied with Vampire Weekend's White Sky.
@linkin49park182 Yeah, I kept hearing people talk about how Vampire Weekend sounded like Paul Simon, especially Graceland. Now that I'm actually listening to Paul Simon I see what they meant. Paul Simon's a bit more country though
They don't make jews like Paul Simon anymore… And fuck all you pc assholes!
Paul Simon's masterpiece.
the guitar arrangements on this song are incredible
Puro ritmo.
103 people have no opinion about THAT...
I know about jokes...this time the joke is on all of us.
Same here!!!
My favorite album of all time!! I remember seeing him on SNL singing "Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes" instantly fell in love with this album. One of the few I can just let play..
It's like everything good about music , the lyrics virtuoso, the beats and harmony. He has an extreme gift from the muses
And it makes me dance like a loon singing with joy and poignancy
Yeah... G-Land... Mr. Simon is a Genius. And the kind that makes your head hurt, which is the best kind as far theory goes i hear. But yeah, Dual-meanings, puting oneself in (O)thers' (dotsoyour) shoes, vocal originality, creative yet consistent, musical dynamicism (floabword) but melodic, harmonic, and all of the other 'ic's that make a musical aspirant happy that they aren't crazy despite their love for music and still holding true to their believes and (con)victions. God bless Mr. S
Fat Charlie the archangel is a hell of visual
A bard in the purest sense of the word
My kids got this tape for me for Father's Day. My daughter was 8 and my son 6 and we listened to it till it stretched out. My neighbors listened to it too. Of course my wife of 43 years bought the tape but the kids were so proud to give me the gift. Oh to be 32 again ( sometimes ).

I love Vampire Weekend!
Hahaha :-)
What a Masterpiece from Paul Simon. I have not listened to Graceland in a few, well too many, years and re-visiting I am hooked once again.
Same here....such a beautiful album. Paul did exceptionally well with this. I was a young girl when this came out, loved it then, and I STILL love it now!
There's no way vampire weekend didn't draw inspiration from this my goodness
youmeandi100 vampire weekend is admittedly heavily influenced by Paul. You can hear it all over their music.
Hadn't heard this song til now, but I seriously can't stop thinking about how much Vampire Weekend's entire catalog seems summed up by this song. The Demo of course too.
This sounds so familiar from another song. Can’t think of the name
Is it the theme tune to Dharma & Gregg?
🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗❤❤❤❤❤
thank you paul simon for graceland and so many others. Jesus Christ is grace
Does anyone know why "Vol. 2" included in the title? Is it to distinguish itself from "Crazy Love" by Van Morrison?
Sam Baes Music yes that is exactly why
As Simon explained in an interview with SongTalk magazine, there are two reasons for the "Vol. II" in the title. One is that Simon wanted to differentiate his "Crazy Love" from the Van Morrison song of the same name. The other is that he is talking about a love that has started and stopped more than once.
Still a beautiful tune❤👌👌
I'm such a sucker for the percussion in this song
My favourite Paul Simon song 😁
Living this now. Thank you paul simon for your music that speaks to my life
We married the year this came out - we had no furniture - the first thing we bought was a stereo and this record and some cushions - still LOVE it now as I loved it then!
That's a good comment, right there ...
THANK G-D FOR MUSIC AFRICA PAUL!!!

thank you
This album is a miracle. Talking Heads (Remain in Light) shouldn't be a surprise. But this thing is that gumbo that didn't just transcend its ingredients, it defied all logic by the degree of its coherence: crystallization depends primarily on the conditions under which the material solidifies.
A miracle, yeah.
Paul is a poet. when he went to SO Africa, he got better.
ya even though there are no poets there. hmmmm
get a life
lmao what
We all have those days where we feel like Fat Charlie the Archangel.
Even those of us who've never married
And especially those of us who have never married, and quite likely never will marry! 😢
Ain't that the truth!
This will eat up a year of my life and there's all that weight to be lost love it are u related to Jeremy Edgar of Battle mountain Nevada

Me neither
I love every song on Graceland! How can you NOT?
Catherine Fitzpatrick after many many years....still my top 5 “cds”
OMFG YES!!
Under African skies and homeless are a bit boring. The rest is cool
@Dik Beats I love Under African Skies and I think its entertaining! However I can agree that Homeless is boring
Great stuff. I was like 5 when this came out, but we listened to it in the car all the time when I was a kid. Appreciated it more and more as I grew up.
brings back memories. did the whole concert in Zimbabwe 1987
I think I fell asleep to this album while my mom was in the hospital in labour with my brother when I was one. It came out on August 25th 1986 and my bro was born on August 26th 1986. My dad always loved Paul Simon.
That made me cry - what a beautiful memory!
glad you enjoyed it
Lovely memories it was may 1986 in the uk
had a Fisher price cassette player and was glued to my ear with this album from 2 years old born in 1985. special place in my heart
That's funny, born in 1985 & remember my sister being a little baby and my dad playing this album in the living room, love this album ever since 😊
Fab Musicality .. The 25th Anniversary CD sounds even better .. Love it a Fave Album ..
intresting
@***** oh yes...
180 gram vinyl reissue is amazing on a really good stereo. Tried it out in a high-end stereo shop, it sounded like I was in the studio and we were listening to the master tape through a Neve console...it was that good. You could hear every nuance and mute every instrument in your head. Steely Dan - Pretzel Logic/Royal Scam/Aja/Gaucho, Supertramp - Breakfast In America, Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon, Dire Straits - Brothers In Arms, U2 - Joshua Tree, Tears for Fears - Big Chair, Paul Simon - Graceland...those are all my test records.
