Paul Revere & The Raiders - I Don't Know Lyrics
You say you want to be my lover
Oh, you tell me so
You say there's never been another
Oh... I don't know
Your chastity, a precious stone
You say these words you've never spoken
Oh... I don't know
Eternal lasting love together
You vowed to me, that we could share
I could've lived with you forever
Tell me why, should I can
You say you want to be my lover
You swear there's never been another
Oh... I don't know
Oh... I don't know
...

Paul Revere & The Raiders I Don't Know Comments
I used to have the 45 rpm single of this song. It really is a great song. When I was young, I worked at a camp every summer as a beach lifeguard. I remember my best friend who also was in the same dorm room with me came back from a date one night and he kept saying "I Don't Know" over and over again. He had been with this really hot chick. I later dated her and we really got it on. That didn't change my friendship with my friend. I have always connected the Paul Revere and the Raiders song with what happened regarding the "I Don't Know" thing at camp. The B-side of "I Don't Know" is another great Phil "Fang" Volk (bass player for PR& the Raiders) entitled" In My Community." Fang passed away a couple of years ago. Rest in peace Mr. Volk. Thank you for sharing this great song!!!!!!
+charlesrlassiter--Phil "Fang" Volk is still alive....perhaps you were thinking of either Mike "Smitty" Smith, or Drake "The Kid" Levin--both of whom have passed away in recent years....
"I Don't Know", while a great song, was never an A-Side. It was the B-side to "Let Me" which peaked at no. 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1969. "In My Community" was the B-Side to "The Great Airplane Strike" which also peaked at no. 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1966.
This band Pink Puzz is really cool.
