Paul McCartney - This One Lyrics
Did I Ever Take You In My Arms,
Look You In The Eye, Tell You That I Do,
Did I Ever Open Up My Heart
And Let You Look Inside.
For A Better Moment That Didn't Come.
There Never Could Be A Better Moment
Than This One, This One.
The Swan Is Gliding Above The Ocean,
A God Is Riding Upon His Back,
How Calm The Water And Bright The Rainbow
Fade This One To Black.
Did I Ever Touch You On The Cheek
Did I Ever Knock Upon Your Door
And Try To Get Inside?
If I Never Did It, I Was Only Waiting
For A Better Moment That Didn't Come.
There Never Could Be A Better Moment
Than This One, This One.
The Swan Is Gliding Above The Ocean,
A God Is Riding Upon His Back,
How Calm The Water And Bright The Rainbow
Fade This Swan To Black.
What Opportunities Did We Allow To Flow By
Feeling Like Like The Timing Wasn't Quite Right?
What Kind Of Magic Might Have Worked If We Had Stayed Calm,
Couldn't I Have Given You A Better Life?
Did You Ever Take Me In Your Arms,
Look Me In The Eye, Tell Me That You Do?
Did I Ever Open Up My Heart,
Let You Look Inside?
If I Never Did It, I Was Only Waiting
For A Better Moment That Didn't Come.
There Never Could Be A Better Moment
Than This One, This One.
The Swan Is Gliding Above The Ocean,
A God Is Riding Upon His Back,
How Calm The Water And Bright The Rainbow
Fade This Swan To Black.

Brilliant. Paul is a genius. There will never be another like him.
Great sonG.
The video has a very "We was fab" video and George's interest in Hindu iconography mixed in with John and Yoko's sit ins for peace feeling.
Bring it back to live set !!!
En el cielo no hay cadenas, pero no son lo mismo infiernos sin cadenas que cielos con ellas.

These words are messages for George Harrison, right?
💞💖💚💜💙💛
O ya. Love this one.
"Did I ever take you in my arms, look you in the eye and tell you that I do." My vicar thought my choice of song for my wedding was pretty good. I'd been waiting for the moment since May 1983. It finally arrived in October 2011. It was a very discrete ceremony - me and the missus, the clergy, and the deity.
I ye . I did it.. to this one.
Did I ever take you in my arms
Look you in the eye, tell you that I do?
Did I ever open up my heart
Let you look inside?
If I never did it, I was only waiting
For a better moment that didn't come
There never could be a better moment
Than this one, this one
The swan is gliding above the ocean
A god is riding upon his back
How calm the water and bright the rainbow
Fade this one to black
Did I ever touch you on the cheek
Say that you were mine, thank you for the smile?
Did I ever knock upon your door
Try to get inside?
If I never did it, I was only waiting
For a better moment that didn't come
There never could be a better moment
Than this one, this one
The swan is gliding above the ocean
A god is riding upon his back
How calm the water and bright the rainbow
Fade this one to black
What opportunities did we allow to flow by
Feeling like the timing wasn't quite right?
What kind of magic might have worked if we had stayed calm
Couldn't I have given you a better life?
Did you ever take me in your arm
Look me in the eye, tell me that you do?
Did I ever open up my heart
Let you look inside?
If I never did it, I was only waiting
For a better moment that didn't come
There never could be a better moment
Than this one, this one
The swan is gliding above the ocean
A God is riding upon his back
How calm the water and bright the rainbow
Fade this one to black
The swan is gliding, oh
A God is riding, oh
How calm the water
And bright the rainbow
👋👋👋👍👍👍👍
Zarpado tema
One of Macca's quality post Beatles songs.
you were only waiting for this moment to arive.
Why is this so addicting
to george harrison
This one, relates to this "one" moment in time. You only ever have "this moment" so don't keep putting off things like telling someone you love them. He explained that in an interview years ago.
I love this song
Uno de los mejores temas de mc.cartney solista!!!, no entiendo ni entendere a los que pusieron que no les gusta!!!!
I had never heard of this song. Great lyrics, great little song. Funny video.
Don't wait until tomorrow because there might not be one! Today marks exactly six years since I last saw my dad alive. He died in front of me two weeks later. Also dealing with 5 other deaths. Never take anyone or anything for granted! No one is promised tommorow! Love the song an video
indeed, that's the point of the song. This one, relates to this "one" moment in time. You only ever have "this moment" so don't keep putting off things like telling someone you love them. He explained that in an interview years ago.
Maravilhosos ♡ Paul e linda
Cadê os Brasileiros?
Aqui é Br , de Portugal !
I was 26 when this came out. How on Earth have I not seen this video until now (2019!)
Wow! 30 years! I was 11 back then. I remember he was doing a world tour in 1989/90, the last concert was at Maracanã stadium, in Rio, Brazil. It was the first time a Beatle came to South America. There was more than 180 thousand people in that concert, people from many places, it was a world record at that moment. So I remember brazilian TV channels showing music videos of his, days before the concert, and then the actual concert. It was huge!
Here is part of the concert on TV, I still remember that, because my sister had a tape with that for many years. XD
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIjGJDe0uH0
And just a week ago (2019) he was playing here in south america again (more cities, more countries, including São Paulo, where I live in)... unfortunately I couldn't go to the concert because I'm poor. hahahaha
But in 1990 (that first one), he actually paid to be there in Rio, because Brazil was in an economic crisis and the brazilians who organized the event paid less money than he used to get in other countries, and he wanted low priced tickets, so everyone could join that party. Such a nice guy!
i remember seeing the video on a video jukebox at The Queen pub, Bradford, just after it came out.
Underrated song.Heard it in a lift...forgot how good it was
School days
This one = this swan. So obvious, once he's pointed it out. to everyone. I fear his genius will not be fully appreciated until he's no longer with us.

True. I laugh at the comments that say "one of macca's good songs after the beatles". Most of their songs post beatles are great, he has more good songs post beatles than in the beatles. There are all gems with some exceptions.
Шедевр! Ахххрееенееть. Уважуха! Талантище!
Вы не одиноки...дорогой ценитель непростой музыки...судя по последним достижениям нашей и не только...у меня есть подозрение что русским хотят привить (быдло клаб)..
Pour Linda
this one. temazo. El tiempo es hoy . Hay que vivir este momento con amor e intensidad . Gracias Paul por este tema
Best song of PaulMcCarney
Yeah... PaulMcCarney and JohnLemmon were great songwriters!
A perfect song,
Except fot that damn weird video
What a strange comment, you don't see the video when you play the song on your sound system or if you hear it on the radio. The song and video are really 2 separate things.
This song is fuckin' great - It's really beautiful
Hatte ich ungefähr in denn 80 Jahren das erste mal gehört 🌴
Perhaps my favourite McCartney solo track
I love the crazy macca at 1:40
RIP Linda. Like Yoko I think she often copped a lot of undeserved crap.
Paul and Linda. ❤️
wrong unterstood hey people lising hear song thinging
Paul try to be George so hard. what for??? this is madnes
In which context? Music or patronizing Lord Krishna?
This song Paul wrote it to George who was dealing with first brush of cancer. That’s why Paul is dressed like that and the environment looks like an indian meditation
Fade this swan to black...
Like their going back in 68 when they went to India sitting around when Paul was with Jane Asher
Absolutamente gênio. Pelé da musica!!!!
i ve got the lp original from eighties
Me too.
Billy boy !
bullshit!
i wonder if some of this song was written to John?
great great song by Paul. somewhat forgotten.
Soul deep ...
Produced by the incredible Trevor Horn (Art of Noise). He went on to work on so many chart toppers, including Seal's 'Kiss from a Rose'. :)
"I was only waiting for a better moment that didn't come"
It's for John.

We both understand this first hand.. I hope you are feeling better.. Today just happens to mark exactly six years since the last time I got to see my dad alive.. Sure you can relate. Has been a major roller coaster ever since. I will be keeping my YouTube channel after Google plus ends and I will also be on Hangouts an Facebook. Take care
I knew him and Michael jackson were good friends and it seems like he took a little inspration from the leave me alone muaic video.
Master Pole yeah but this isn’t the Beatles, this is Paul.
Lets all be honest. Paul McCartney was crap outside of the beatles...
BusWillCrush john lennon had better songs than McCartney. Still, both sort of sucked outside of the beatles.
I think my George Harrison was the better solo artist after the Beatles yes Macca had some bad songs but so did Lennon Paul did great with wings but georgie was the best and so is ringo starr
Love these song como siempre la genialidad de este ex Beatle lo hace único como lo era linda
Calming music
lovely song for john and george💚✨✨✨✨
@Io If it's for everybody then that includes John & George so really it IS for them.
Clive Bindley No. It is NOT especially for them.
@Clive Bindley Well actually, this song is just for me. Sorry folks. Hehehe
@Artur Axmann7777 This is a silly discussion, I'm leaving.
Adios people have fun.
@Clive Bindley oh c'mon, I'm just funnin ya mate....come back, don't leave the party....
such a beautiful song 💚🌟✨✨✨✨
Nice sounds..... I’m 1990 and I love this track.....
Zdraviy Smisl how on earth can you still be alive? Incredible.
This song could have been genius bit the goofy tempo and weird video make it sub par. A shame....could have been magic.
ROAD To The Top Lol it's just an opinion on how I'd like to hear the song personally. Gee people giving opinions on YouTube...wat a concept! 😂
ROAD To The Top I noticed. Lol. 😝 It's all good. I like Paul but I'm more of a John fan myself.
ROAD To The Top Personally I love the White Album. But agreed some of their best work was together. John's 'Imagine' album for me was one of his absolute best.
@Master Pole I wrote this song with Paul. What are you inplying???
This one....THIS ONE.....
this is what Paul on LSD sounds like
No drugs needed.
I think the acid was a bit dated by this time, thank you very much
Is This sing about John ?
Yes it is. It's also a very Beatle-like song, like he's singing what he and John would have sung had they sung it together. The verse is very Lennon-like and the chorus is very McCartney.
I thought this was about Linda but hey! Macca's lyrics were and are ever a wide horizon.
Half Paul's songs are about John
This one, relates to this "one" moment in time. You only ever have "this moment" so don't keep putting off things like telling someone you love them. He explained that in an interview years ago.
WITHOUT LENNON IS A FAILURE
HOW OLD ARE YOU SHIT?
@paulo pantoja Paolo just shut the fuck up you ass clown.
Precious
the greatest tunesmith of the last 100 years, but this is nowhere near one of his best
John Faram ii
John Faram i
It's indeed one of Macca's catchiest
Trippy video :)
Very cool
Paul McCartney is a genius. Yes, it's obvious, but I just felt like pointing out the obvious :))
Whats really obvious is whats beautiful is the fake piece of land whats more beautiful is Linda Eastman.
Love it❤
This is such a trippy Beatle-ish video. Love him!
my faveeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
maccartney without lennon is a failure
É O MEU OVO
Whatever fool !
the greatest tunesmith of the last 100 years,i dont think so mate,
Ludicrous comment.
I hate the fact that there are *2* people that liked this comment.
I love the bridge at 2:07!
Can someone please explain to me what the part about the swan and the god riding on his back 'means'? I'm a songwriter, but I have been confounded by those lyrics for years.
I didn't know Paul was still into the Hindu thing. I know George was.
"The hamsa, or the swan, is often identified with the Supreme Spirit, Ultimate Reality or Brahman in Hinduism.[2] The flight of the hamsa symbolizes moksha, the release from the cycle of samsara." (Wikipedia)
@beatleman69 Yeah, Grorge actually became Hindu, Paul didn't, but uses the imagery in this song
This one, relates to this "one" moment in time. You only ever have "this moment" so don't keep putting off things like telling someone you love them. He explained that in an interview years ago.
no idea about the swan though
80's classic!
@Io 1989 - Flowers in The Dirt album.
Also, I sense him channeling George in this video. Just the style is something George would do.
Probably my favorite song off this album...
