Paul McCartney - How Kind Of You Lyrics

How kind of you to think of me
When I was out of sorts
It really meant a lot to be
In someone else's thoughts
Someone else's mind
Someone else as kind, as you

The thoughtfulness you showed has made
A difference in my life
I won't forget how unafraid
You were that long dark night
I thought that all was lost
I thought I'd never find
A someone quite as kind, as you

I thought my faith had gone
I thought there couldn't be
A someone who was there, for me

How kind of you to stick by me
During the final bout
And listen to the referee
As I was counted out
I thought my time was up
I thought I'd never find
A someone quite as kind, as you

I thought my faith had gone
I thought there couldn't be
A someone who was there, for me

How kind of you to think of me
How kind of you

Paul McCartney How Kind Of You Comments
  1. P.... K....

Une des plus belles chansons de cet album génial de Paul, le meilleur de tous. Melodies, harmonies, arrangements, tout est exceptionnel !

  2. J.... L....

The textures in this song are ao well mixed, the instruments doing simple but extraordinary things, the musicality, the incredible vocal lines...all together give us a breathtaking musical experience. To me, one the best songs Paul has ever written, with or without Beatles.

  3. J.... ....

    Another John song?

    J.... ....

i think this is one is more about Linda... seems like it's about how she helped him after beatles break up and when he was extremely depressed. but maybe I'm wrong

    J.... ....

@ann marie Yeah. I've changed my mind about John. I actually think it is about Heather only because it was 2004 or 2005 when he wrote this song. He met her about a year after Linda died. He had to have been still very depressed. "I thought my time was up" and "How kind of you to think of me" doesn't seem like after the Beatles break up because he was already married to Linda then. Try to see it my way. LOL. No, you could be right.

    J.... ....

@JaneAsherKnows nono i think you're right because i didn't realise that Paul and Heather split up in 2006. i thought by the time album came out they have already been in divorcing process but i was wrong. so yeah it might be about Heather!
anyway the song is very good

@ann marie Go to 1 minute and 25 seconds. He loves the camera and we love that he loves the camera!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BLjhDsTNEA

I think if when Linda passed away. I wrote a letter expressing my support and appreciation for his music. I would like to think many fans wrote to him during this time, to offer their sympathies and support. I think of how glad I am I wrote.

  6. M.... P....

The divine spark he received once upon ago is revealed again by this wonder of a human being.

  7. E.... O....

This track most clearly shows Nigel Godrich's hand. The piano loops foreshadow Radiohead's Decks Dark (Moon Shaped Pool), 10 years ahead of schedule.

  8. K.... R....

The ever best song of genius McCartney! Almost nobody knows this.

  9. P.... B....

    Un chef-d'oeuvre

  10. R.... ....

When the Giants of music like Elton and Paul McCartney die there's no more Giants

    R.... ....

Sadly, I agree. Guess we'd better learn to like the mumble rappers.

    R.... ....

TheSpock23 , you WIN the thread, or be narcissistic like Taylor or Justin...but good ones like Adele retired....

    R.... ....

Wrong-o. Thanks to these giants, there are even more giants out there now. You just have to know where to look ;)

    R.... ....

Norman Flossinballs , I’m sure there are many talented giants but tragically music industry fragmented by internet and not marketed, radio gone to yack politics, no cd or record stores, no singers on tv like fifties through seventies then mtv...Its now hard to find great music or know who they are.

    R.... ....

@Joy Stinson Thankfully music festivals collect all of them in one place >:)

  11. l.... p....

    bella gemma nascosta

  12. D.... M....

A song has never made me think of someone as this one does :)

  13. B.... H....

His top 5 all time for me are in no particular order. Band On The Run, Flowers In The Dirt, Flaming Pie, Chaos And Creation, and NEW. His work matured and he hit a creative peak of sorts from 89 forward and having the kids grown played a big part of that IMO it's sad his Lovely Linda missed portions of his latter work from 99-13.

    B.... H....

Brian Herrington RAM, BOTR, V&M, FP, CACITBY

    B.... H....

Chaos & Creation, Band on the Run, Ram, Flaming Pie, NEW (perhaps soon to be replaced by Egypt Station ;)

    B.... H....

Venus & Mars, Band On The Run, Ram, Back To The Egg, Flaming Pie, Chaos And Creation! All Superb albums from Macca!!

    B.... H....

Wings at the speed of sound very strong album and pre wings early Macca great primitive blues and rock.

  14. P.... C....

  18. M.... A....

    Tremendo temaza...

  19. b.... ....

He should because he didn't let Paul get away with BS like "Driving Rain" or "Memory Almost Full". His best album since "Flaming Pie".

    b.... ....

hey! i like Driving Rain!!!!.... but memory almost full is kinda embarrasing :(

    b.... ....

TheFifthBeatle06 , hey, BOTH ALBUMS GOOD, neither embarrassing as show range of Paul..

    b.... ....

blachubear, NEITHER WERE BS like YOUR COMMENT....driving rain was VERY contemporary....whoever you are talking about, many of John solo whiny songs are DATED AND now UNLISTENABLE....George Martin took songs and enhanced the.

  20. m.... ....

yeah seriously haha. too much stress on the old man. but what a great record and this is my favorite off it.

  21. s.... ....

McCartney respected Godrich so much, he never worked with him again...

    s.... ....

    he should!!!!

  22. b.... ....

"Chaos & Creation" is a masterpiece CD. And this is one of my favorite tracks from the CD. Thanks for posting this so everyone can listen to this great tune.

  24. K.... S....

It's beautiful! Especially the music in the second half of the song when the music is going all crazy.. How that bass comes in..and onward.
