Paul McCartney - House Of Wax Lyrics

Lightning hits the house of wax
Poets spill out on the street
To set alight the incomplete
Remainders of the future

Hidden in the yard. Hidden in the yard

Thunder drowns the trumpets blast
Poets scatter through the night
But they can only dream of flight
Away from their confusion

Hidden in the yard. Underneath the wall
Buried deep below a thousand layers lay
The answer to it all

Lightning hits the house of wax
Women scream and run around
To dance upon the battleground
Like wild demented horses

Hidden in the yard. Underneath the wall
Buried deep below a thousand layers lay
The answer to it all

  8. I.... ....

This song and the way Paul sings it is legendary. Epic. Gives me shivers every time I hear it.

  9. L.... H....

    Beatles quality track I say.

  10. T.... ....

  11. M.... V....

Hiden in the yard (real pauls body )

  12. R.... J....

I can still remember listening to Memory Almost Full for the first time and House of Wax came on, I got a chill then just as I still do today. If this was a Beatle song, he would still be playing this today at every concert.

  13. A.... B....

This is just one of the many songs that proves Paul isn't schmaltzy.

I do believe he is a better lead guitarist than George ever was.

    Feel free to flame me.

    A.... B....

    Allie Bishop
hi allie ...they are both quite different guitar players. each w their own style. McCartney alot more dirty than George. altho George could play a mean slide guitar.

    A.... B....

Paul played a fair amount of lead guitar work while in the Beatles. Taxman, Good Morning Good Morning, Back in the USSR to name a few...

  14. L.... C....

    Came here because of Tarja

    L.... C....

    Same :D

    L.... C....

    Me too!!!!

  15. t.... b....

Canadian Studmuffin told me to take a listen to this song and it is SO GOOD! Thanks Canadian Studmuffin

    t.... b....

the beatles , yep, I love his videos...

  16. E.... S....

Spine chilling. The "wild demented horses"? A good one.

  17. R.... P....

Wonderful sound-world. Spacious musical atmosphere. Sophisticated and appealing.

  18. S.... V....

...que impresionante!!... maravillosa!! ¿tendrá que ver con la película homónima?

  19. D.... ....

I wonder how it would sound with his voice and the Tarja cover instrumental ...

    This is so good!

    D.... ....

She made a great cover of this music. He just have proud of her! :D

  20. H.... e....

Tarja make a cover of this music. The original version are good, but the cover still much better. Paul still proud of her ^U^

    H.... e....

I disagree. The original knows no equal.

  21. A.... C....

esta cancion es una de las mejores del album junto con the end of the end y mr. bellamy

    A.... C....

Muy de acuerdo. Una obra maestra intensa, poderosa y oscura. Bien al estilo de Peter Hammill.

  22. L.... C....

Fantastic. everything is perfect in this song, from tune to lyrics

  23. R.... J....

That's actually Paul playing lead guitar on "House of Wax"

    R.... J....

Nerdy note , before George joined the group back in the day , Paul was always the lead guitarist , he played bass because at the time George was much more accomplished . Mac has always been able to play six string. I'm sure you know but this isn't the first time he played every instrument on an album . 'Ist solo album ' + Ram and most of Band On The Run ' ...
    ..

  24. R.... B....

I always loved this song, but it wasn't until the other night that I realized how amazing it is. What a vocal! I think people tend to take Paul's vocal ability for granted, and so fail to really appreciate performances like this. We're so used to it. If a lesser known singer put out a song like this, critics would rave. And that's just one part of this amazing song. the lyrics, arrangement, and production are equally stunning.

    R.... B....

agreed! at some points his voice almost sounds young. this song is incredible <3

  25. j.... ....

    Fucking right tune.

  26. T.... ....

    Impeccable!

  27. M.... ....

Like ifLarry Gravs TV sent you here!

    M.... ....

    Exactly.

  28. A.... A....

In my opinion, this is the best song of the album. Along with Dance Tonight and Mr. Bellamy.  :)

  29. H.... B....

the best of the album ..

  30. A.... H....

This song is powerful- another gem from a true genius. He can tackle any musical genre and pull it off to perfection. To see him perform live is the thrill of a lifetime- there is nothing he cannot do and do it impeccably.

  31. G.... B....

    magnificent

  32. J.... S....

    His vocals alone are amazing!!!

  33. C.... G....

    Dark...

    C.... G....

Clint Gibon , yep, Macca has a dark side, who knew?

  34. E.... S....

Aquí debería estar en el solo David Gilmour.- Temazo.-

  35. F.... ....

I come here from Adaro xD

  36. B.... B....

Clapton is good but way overrated. Some of his very famous riffs are not even his but borrowed like the opening of Layla

    B.... B....

Same as the Beatles on the overrated bit then eh?

  37. M.... Z....

You' re right, he can' t play the drums very well... but here he plays the lead guitar, the second solo makes Clapton eat the dust!

  38. D.... F....

The best thing is, he doesn't really understand the genius of the music he makes, he just has the idea to do it, and it sounds great.

He once said about The Beatles' music:

"If we knew what we were doing, we could never have written those songs."

Most if not all of it is insticnt. That's what you call genius ;)

  39. B.... B....

i wish Paul would get a Real Drummer in some of his songs.... especially this one.
His basic drumming doesn't cut it on this one.

    B.... B....

Paul didn't play the drums on House of Wax.

  40. M.... Z....

I know that Rusty is his lead guitarist... but in this song is Paul on lead guitar. His '65 Epiphone Casino, my friend.

  41. M.... Z....

Macca plays the lead guitar. The second solo makes Clapton eat the dust!

    M.... Z....

Marco Zucchi , yep, Macca great lead a long time, taxman and pepper song...

  42. P.... K....

This is one of hidden gems. Like Beatiful Night, or Beware My Love. True rocker!

    P.... K....

Pēteris Krišjānis , dude, you listed great stuff...

  43. A.... M....

Un clásico para siempre!!! Paul still has it!!!

  44. M.... M....

@MrPoriferan People still believe that "Paul Is Dead" bullshit?

  45. A.... S....

    Magnifique.

  46. F.... ....

    I came :)

  47. i.... ....

I don't believe I've ever heard a drum track like this one in any modern rock tune. Just like Paul... always inventing and then re-inventing music. People will be studying his music for hundreds of years into the future, like they study the compositions of Bach, Mozart or Beethoven today.

  48. K.... F....

waw, I like song that can to do me think in my life in the world in everything that happens around me..and this song do this. Perfectly perfect. =]

  49. E.... ....

Paul is a whole lot better these days.

  50. g.... ....

    Sounds like vintage Macca!

  51. m.... ....

Like "Nineteen-hundred-eighty-five" from Band on the Run.
