Paul McCartney - End Of The End Lyrics
At the end of the end
It's the start of a journey
To a much better place
And this wasn't bad
So a much better place
No need to be sad
On the day that I die I'd like jokes to be told
And stories of old to be rolled out like carpets
That children have played on
And laid on while listening to stories of old
At the end of the end
It's the start of a journey
To a much better place
Would have to be special
No reason to cry
[Whistling]
On the day that I die I'd like bells to be rung
And songs that were sung to be hung out like blankets
That lovers have played on
And laid on while listening to songs that were sung
At the end of the end
It's the start of a journey
To a much better place
And a much better place
Would have to be special
No reason to cry
No need to be sad
At the end of the end

Paul McCartney End Of The End Comments
Priceless...let it never be said again that the man can’t write profound lyrics.....
What a person, Sir Paul,
Oh. I will be crying. Everytime I hear your beautiful voice sing your beautiful songs, the tears will flow freely.
Maybe you go first!
How about we all agree that on the day of the announcement of his death, we all agree to get justice for the victims of 9/11 and don't take 'no' for an answer? It should be clear to just about everyone that those responsible 'got away' with it and are laughing over brandies in crystal snifters. I mean EVERYONE responsible, not just those who planted the explosives, but those who pulled the strings and those who bankrolled the whole operation, top to bottom, bottom to top.
I played this song at my husband"s funeral 6 years ago..He loved Paul McCarney...RIP my love,
Nubia i'm sorry for your loss. It sounds like you gave him a beautiful sendoff. I plan on playing this for my roommate/ex boyfriend who's had 64 years of pain and major health issues. He's a Lennon fan, I'm a Macca woman but this is a perfect way to send him on to his pain and health issues free life.
Cathy Krager may pace with you and your loved one...
Nubia thank you! And peace be with you, too.
Nubia Ya made me cry. I got through the song, the comments and yours is just beautiful. And I want to write more but it keep welling up. You're a sweet lady, Nubia.
A sad and happy melody at the same time..such a genius
Being that i am almost 65, dealing with 15 medical conditions, i am in process of making my own memorial Video and DVD. I have four incurable conditions. Being that my condition is so rare, i am donating my body to science and then have my ashes spread in the Pacific Ocean. If You Tube will let me, i will add this one.
All the power to you, Randy R.
Another gift for our lives. Thanks Paul. Love you.
Definitely sound like a last will and testament, bummer.
No. Paul just means he wants to be celebrated instead of mourned. "There's no need to be sad."
whistling out of tune, anyway, macca is great
'On the day that I die I'd like jokes to be told'....I cannot keep from weeping at the thought of Paul leaving this incarnation.
On that day when he does die, it will be a very sad day in all our lives ✌ & ❤.
You are so right. : (
When he passes, I'll cry.... for forever. This guy means the whole world to me. Love you Paul.... more than you know.
Taaykaaz29 I was born in 1964 and been in love with The Beatles, especially Paul since I was 2 according to legend. I grew up with Paul … John's murder was horrific and tragic and Paul's passing is inevitable and will absolutely gut me like a fish. But Paul has done so much … He's immortal. I try not to think about the whole subject because its going to kill me and I will cry worse than I did for John. I really love the guy.
Taaykaaz29 , it will be sad....his song tells us what he wants on the day he dies....man has MUCH wisdom...the moron pidtards killed him years ago. Most people have trouble imagining their deaths.
On the day that you die, Paul, I'll have a hard time singing songs and telling jokes, but I'll try. For your sake. ❤
And songs that were sung to be hung out like blankets/That lovers have played on/And laid on while listening to songs that were sung
Wow, really good, stay well Paul
Happy birthday Macca! All the best and God Bless!
Feliz cumple Paul!!!!!!!!! No te mueras nunca!!!
Glad Sir Paul is part of a disclosure process. Allegorical and classy in his role all this time. Hope he is well. It would be great if he had a book in waiting for release at some point in future,, if he will be allowed to. Would not want another "Shake-Speare" for the future. But I hope his health is well and the true story of The Beatles is told. :)
Not dead yet, it's just his birthday today.
First time hearing this - the kind of ending I hope for.
Sounds like last will... and sounds great!
