Patrick Wolf - Thickets Lyrics
(Just a little further up the hill boy,
You'll be home soon enough.)
All along the river, peddling as fast as I could
Watch as the wasteland flowers
Sweet black berries
Tainted red berries
Berries
Berries
When looking for my tower
of all the rails and the roads
I need a resurrection
as my desires and power, grown thicket
Tall around me
Tall around me
Around
Around
Around now
Well, have I been traveling so long
that I forgot how to stop?
Why are my brakes all broken?
And in mirror
pale and deathly have become
Oh, what have I become?
Mother
what have I have become?
Become
Become
Become now
Now
And all my wastelands flower
And all my thickets grow on and
And all my wastelands flower
(when all my wastelands flower)
And all my thickets grow tall and tall
Still damn tall
Tall and tall
And around
All around me
(round and round and round)
What have I become?
Pale and deathly have become
What have I become?
Pale and deathly have become
Become
Become
Become now

Patrick Wolf Thickets Comments
I love this song. It reminds me of how I have been feeling and progressing... How I had gotten away from situations and people who wanted to hurt me, who left my soul a bit barren. But now, finally, my older self is returning, and I feel like my wasteland is flowering once again! It's such a beautiful feeling!
I love Goldfrapp, Björk and Patrick Wolf!
Tilda Swinton as narrator. So fucking awesome
I can't wait to go see him, but I have to wait until October :(
His voice grates on me. Which is a shame because I absolutely love everything else about his music.
And all of the Wastelands Flowers... -- what a lyricist.
This song is simply incredible. Patrick Wolf is all the good bits of The Beatles, Beach Boys, Kate Bush, David Bowie and legions of folk and electronic artists synthesised into one epically wonderful artist. Except he does them better.
Muito, muito bom!
