Pat Benatar - In The Heat Of The Night Lyrics
In The Heat Of The Night, when you know it ain't right
But you do what you wanna do
You do what you feel, no one can feel like you
Out in the summertime city, ain't it a pity
There's so much to tie you down
While down at the edge of town
At a pool hall where they all hang around
You hear them talkin' about the girls they knew
And talk about what they're gonna do
Then you ask yourself, is this where you belong?
Is it right, or is it wrong?
Does it matter what's right, In The Heat Of The Night?
Out in the streets tonight, under the neon lights
You're searchin' for something new
They say that eagles fly in this red hot sky
But were they just passin' through
Or did they look down, and see what you found was true
But still in the back of your mind
You've got somethin' to believe in, but there's so much to find
As the bright lights dim, and the night closes in
You thought everything is ending, but it's yet to begin
And you ain't seen nothing yet!
But what you see you'll never forget, and you'll say
Why oh Why)
Did it take you so long to want something more?
Why oh Why)
Did you never get off on this before?
Why oh Why)
Well, here it is, the love you've been waitin' for
Why oh Why)
Standin' in front of you like an open door
And then you ask yourself, is this where you belong?
Is it right, or is it wrong?
Does it matter what's right, In The Heat Of The Night?
In The Heat Of The Night, when you know it ain't right
But you do what you wanna do
You do what you feel, 'cause no one can feel like you

Originalnaja grupa ,skola Deep Purple ...
Love pat
I lived her music in the early 80's when it was still raw and young LGBT people had to fight for their lives in a small town.. thank you Pat. you gave me strength against the troglodytes. xo I love you.
the same question why? is not in the salon de la fame is the best rock singer of all time
pure benatar jam. love it!!!
she deserves to be in the hall of fame... shes beautiful and deserving of fame.. she is Pat benatar the heart & soul of her music.... love her to pcs... shes so wonderful...
she aint selling her soul that's probably why she wont eat human sh** like the others do to get famous and she probably wouldn't sacrifice and eat kids like the others.... the 80s is where its at.. great singers great music I think she is genuinely who she says she is just like her husband... good ppl
thanks for this beautiful song...
But this is my car!
as far as I know this is a song of Smokie, of the album Bright Lights & Back Alleys.
one of her best songs
what a awesome voice
one of the best guitar solo riffs ever..!!!
such a cool song...
she's a pure "bettie"
awesome drummer too!
💝💝💝💝💝💝💝
Hollywood needs to give her music a reboot via film.
One of the most standout voices of the 70s and 80s... part of the soundtrack of my life. Awesome songs! What happened to her? She just seemed to have disappeared off the music media...
I Bought this Album ( Germany) in Januar 1981 , i was 14 years old. Love it till now..
Pat Benatar is the true queen of Rock. I’ve had a crush on her for forever, such a powerhouse of vocals.
OMG!!! Once again, Ms. Benatar isn't even nominated for induction into the 2018 R&RHOF!!! There is some resentment from producers she called out for their sexism when she first started out. Aren't they some of the people who vote?? Too bad. She is belongs in the Hall.
DOES SHE REALLY NEED THAT NOMINATION? SHE IS ALL OVER IT
I won this album on the radio in the late spring '80--good title song; once looped this into a 10 minute song.
A classic
just like beyonce!
her music and voice blows on Beyonce...
@young blood why fuck Beyonce?
@Daniella Karan I'd like to pop her can:-)
@J Ancel 😂😂
mreunome, I agree 100%
The Sextiest Woman from the 70/80
80 IN THE 70 SHE WAS NOT IN THE SCENE
Des années que je n'ai pas écouté Pat.Toujours parmi les meilleures.
just great original music from this band.
except that this is a Smokie cover, only 4 original songs on her first album.
She belongs in the rock and roll hall of fame way before a lot of artists that were inducted, and it's sad that she may never get inducted for whatever reason they seem to snub her. She is the queen of rock . . . no female had her stamina or gave such gutsy performances in the 80's, and even now pushing 60 she's still out touring. A real rock girl from NY
No, from Lindenhoust!
+mreunome so true
+lfWolf Last time I checked that was in New York, lol. She was born in Brooklyn and grew up in Lindenhurst

Great Song that Says to Move On and be BE More THAN YOU ARE.
@MarvelGirl100 I'm pretty sure this song is about sex crimes. And it's kind of sick that you'd look for a lesson in this song. One that you can look for yourself to improve. I mean that's like listening to Hell is for Children and thinking "My God swings are dangerous!"
@Klaid Dael Listen to the lyrics again to this song. It is about leaving a situation that is not good for you. There is no reference to age in the song. So where do you get SEX CRIMES OUT OF THIS SONG. Take the time to listen to the lyrics before you BUNDLE AND BATCH ALL HER SONGS ON THIS ALBUM AS SEX CRIMES.
@Klaid Dael This album is about knoiwing who you are and at what point will you say it is time to move on as ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. It is an album of building character and what you will accept a right ant not accept when dealing with wrong.
+MarvelGirl100 I so agree with you...people get stuff so screwed up nowadays...even as a teen I knew what this album was about
I have had a total crush on Pat since 1979 when this came out. She has an Amazing vocal range. This tiny gal can pump out unbelievable amounts of Singing Mojo! She is cute, classy and Very Talented!
Sluggo
