Parton, Dolly - Wayfaring Stranger Lyrics

I am a poor wayfaring stranger
While traveling thru this world of woe
Yet there's no sickness, toil or danger
In that bright world yo which I go
I'm going there to see my father
I'm going there no more to ram
I'm only going over Jordan
I'm only going over home

I know dark clouds will gather around me
I know my way is rough and steep
Yet beauteous fields lie just before me
Where God's redeedmed their vigils keep

I'm going there to my mother
She said she'd meet me when I come
I'm only going over Jordan
I'm only going over me

A beautiful haunting melody performed by a Legend, Dolly Parton, in a cappella, she has a gift from God with that voice......I can’t stop listening to her. God bless her and thank you so much for posting. ❤️❤️🌺🌸🌺

    Wow !
    We all are !
We all need a Saviour !
That's why we were all given the gift of life .
    It's a test
It's a an invitation from God our Father to know Him
To choose Him and receive His love and eternal salvation through His Son Jesus
    Ask Him now
    Into your heart
Ask Him to forgive your sins
He will never leave you nor forsake you!
    He will show you love
    Real love !

Only in boxes of Breeze! Anyone remember that?

I’ve listened to Dolly most of my life, since a little boy and she was a young lady on Porter Wagner’s show. I liked her voice even when I was young. I think it just got better as she grew up and older. This is the first I’ve ever heard her sing “Wayfaring Stranger,”. I started shaking and tearing up, for Pete’s sake, it was wonderful, special, even for her! Whoever put this on, thank you. Thank you, too, Ms. Parton. I love this old song and Dolly Parton sang it’s soul on this wonderful recording. I have a home on a little river, in Walland, Tennessee, between Townsend and Maryville. It’s real small. Ms. Parton might know Walland.

"Can't buy 'em! You can only get 'em in boxes of Breeze!"

  31. AlyoshaK

Everyone talks about what version of this song is the best, as it has been recorded by so many great musicians, from Joan Baez to Bill Monroe. I can't say one is better than another, but this one is my favorite because of its pure and heartfelt delivery.

    Trevor Morris

Emmylou has also done a really lovely version although my own favourite is by Doc Watson.

    Pat Downs

Yana from the talent show 'The Voice of Flanders' does a great job with this.

    Tom Haskett

Check out the version by the Franz family.
