Ugh. I can’t believe they used one of my favorite songs on THE DUMBEST show ever! Gross

This song was used in This is Us in 2018,  Season 3,  Episode 7. It was perfect for the storyline with Jack and Rebecca in a flashback scene taking a road trip to LA.  It just goes to show the relevance of Dolly Parton 50+ years on in her career.  I can't count the movies and television shows that have used Dolly's music.  One of the world's best singer/song writers of all time! :-)

Omg! THANK YOU THANK YOU Littlesparrow185 for posting this!! I was drawing a blank for a bit on this song.Use to have the album. And I remembered loving one of the songs on it that wasn't one of her "hits"  and could only recall like 3 or 4 words.(so I couldn't look it up) Lol. Which is REALLY WEIRD because I'm a HUGE music person and RARELY EVER forget a song! I remembered what the album cover looked like and that it had "Jolene" on it of course.Anyway.....finally found it! Thanks to you! ; )  I knew as soon as I saw the title!(rembered it again) Can't believe I forgot it! UGH!  Anyway...rambled enough already. I'm just real grateful.  ; )~ Thanks so much!! 

This song was written by Porter Wagoner and first appeared on Dolly's cover album of Wagoner songs...MY FAVORITE SONGWRITER, PORTER WAGONER which was released in 1972. Late the next year it was added to the JOLENE album, as far I can tell it's the exact same recording. The 1975 hits collection BEST OF DOLLY PARTON also includes both "Jolene" and this song on it.

Another Dolly favourite of mine always gets a play at least once a week. what a beautiful woman! just gives and gives.

Wow! Had just left Chicago in June of 76 and found my Dad in Reform, Ala.. Everything closed at 9 pm. I missed my daughter and her Mom in Chicago but everyone was getting killed around me and Momma told me I needed to get away from Chicago. This song, and could had been this album, use to put me to sleep at night. So lonely. Returned to Chicago and joined the Army in March 77. Introduced to a whole new world. I miss so much from my past and now Momma is gone home too. GOD BLESS!!!
