Parquet Courts - Keep It Even Lyrics
There's a drawer in my house that I try
To keep closed but it's open. there's
A commitment that I made to be
Somewhere but it's broken. an oblique
Mantra in my head it lies there on
Collapse like a trap, if it was spoken
You gotta keep it even, even when
You're uptight
Even when you're happy
Even when you're reaching for some
Line I've had in mind, it's been re-
Pressed over time, so I'm breathing
Seduced by an excuse that could
Not be made but I'm speaking
There's a phone with a number that
I try not to call but it's ringing
For someone I've tried to keep to
Myself but I'm singing. it's logic
That's twisted and paraphrased and
Justified by a distance that separates
A bond, bound of persistence
You gotta keep it even, even when
You're uptight
Even when you're happy
Even when you're reaching for
That drawer in my house that I try
To keep closed but its open

Parquet Courts Keep It Even Comments
Hello , I've been looking for a song that was recorded around 1982-1984 from a German radio station and now it's known as ''The Most Mysterious Song on the Internet''. People has been looking for it for over 30 years (12 years online).
Since you have a great collection of retro music , would you mind searching your archive and notify us if you ever find anything?

A video explaining the search behind of this song: youtube/watch?v=90JvgNQicp0
Also our community: Redditdotcom r/TheMysteriousSong
Note: Shazam , Soundhoud and other music finders find the wrong artist because someone claimed the song and published it under his name even though he has no rights to do so. Thanks for your contributions and have a great day!
This song reminds something of Belle and Sebastian
Hey do you think can do me a cover photo like this
.....................Five years later still scrolling down to find where the Basement Jaxx albums begin...............................
Nice. I've never heard of them before, but I'm hearing Ween, Pixies, Pink Floyd, and Lou Reed (and it sounds pretty genuine).
Go look up Motionless Purple Days
Clapham come back please!
me ears mate
The band is great but the singer sounds like a less witty, less raunchy Adam Green.
I just wanted to announce I'm the 80th dislike . k bye
Fuck yeah
The last Clapham Junction upload. :(
@Lou Fresco i still want to know
Why?! ;n;
dude probably received a cease and desist for stealing music, most likely sentenced to a few years in jail and a fine for public displays of piracy
MonsterSponge if that's true then why are they still up? Also sometimes when you search up an artist's album the songs uploaded by Clapham are in the official playlist for the album.
@JBeezie I'd say Clapham Junction was a "topic" channel like the various artists channel you find, but with a name. You'll notice in the video description every song from the channel has a kind of copyright notice, but you can't click on the link to go to the song, simply because THIS is the video of the song. Notice too that it doesnt have the label infos and song info in the desc. Also, they uploaded with titles suiting this schematic : Artists Name - Song Name, while topic channels only include the name of the song in the title. I see Clapham Junction as a semi-official YouTube channel, like if it was reserved to some record labels for their songs back in the day, that's why they are still up I think, they must have got the permission to upload this in some way :D
*my mind can't process this*
I'M SO UNCOMFORTABLE
how do u not get copyright issues uploading these songs?
I'm figuring it's talking about a gun is in the drawer and he tries not to keep it open and keeping it even (keep your emotions in check )
I interpret it as a relationship he's weary to start, because all his past relationships haven't panned out. The drawer is for condoms, ie fucking, which he knows he shouldn't delve in to, lest he repeat the cycle of his past.
