Parov Stelar - Taking Over Lyrics

I'm going all around the globe
Rich is international and baby I'm gold
Rich is international and baby I'm sold
Forget 'bout what you heard, just have to wait what you're told
Only the best, you know, I only like the best things
Make a deposit, give me Luis Vuitton and Gucci
You know it's nothing new, one plus one is always two
If I'm telling you the truth, money sticks to me like glue

Baby I'm dripping in diamonds
Wearing my heart on my sleeve
Whatever I want, I just buy 'em
'Cause money keeps sticking on me

Go ahead and keep the change 'cause I got more than enough
My bank account ain't going down, it keeps going up
And if you think I'm naying ya I'm calling you bluff
I got money honey

Tell me baby do you ever feel lonely
Tell me baby do you ever feel sorry
Honey please I was thinking over, taking over, taking over
Tell me baby do you ever feel lonely
Tell me baby do you ever feel sorry
Honey please I was thinking over, taking over, taking over

I ain't counting problems, I ain't keeping track of time
I'm filling up my days with a billion dollars state of mind
Yeah I'm just sitting pretty watching all that sugar shot
I'll never be a worker bee, ah bitch you know I run the hive (cash flow) (yeah)
A-cha-cha-cha-ching I never run low (yeah)
Money just ain't a thing, stuff you don't know (yeah)
You better listen to me
The weatherman says sunny days but you know I will make it rain

Baby I'm dripping in diamonds
Wearing my heart on my sleeve
Whatever I want I, just buy 'em
'Cause money keeps sticking on me

Search for buried treasure
You don't have to look that far
I'll be lying poolside 'cause the ocean is my backyard

Lifestyles of the rich and famous
Count the money, yeah I made it

Tell me baby do you ever feel lonely
Tell me baby do you ever feel sorry
Honey please I was thinking over, taking over, taking over
Tell me baby do you ever feel lonely
Tell me baby do you ever feel sorry
Honey please I was thinking over, taking over, taking over
(taking over, taking over, taking over, taking over)
Tell me baby do you ever feel lonely
Tell me baby do you ever feel sorry
Honey please I was thinking over, taking over, taking over

I'm going all around the globe
Rich is international and baby I'm gold
Rich is international and baby I'm sold
Forget 'bout what you heard, just have to wait what you're told

  3. Alex aXy

Everyone complains in this comment section, but imo this song sounds pretty good, the chorus is very catchy.

  4. Mert please enter a soyad

Guys wtf?? This drop has quality af

  5. GameBird

Jeez, so many doubters. I may be the first comment I've seen that doesn't exaggerate by saying the vast majority of swing fans seem really displeased by this song. Which is to say, a good chunk of Stelar's fanbase. Enough so that most of them feel this isn't really his music, that he made a disappointing single. Well, here's what I have to say...

    Screw that!

I mean, have you ever _listened_ to a Parov Stelar piece? Really listened and was able to pick out what made him unique? Now, I'll admit: much like film or literature, music can have vastly different perspectives depending on who's listening. A happy, child-like song can seem haunting in a broken music box. Lyrics can twist the meaning and give you a unique feeling on every new hearing. Even first viewings can influence how we envision a song, whether that be a personal or popular instance. Thing about *good* artists though is that no matter the perspective, they always seem to weave a bit of themselves into each song, which gives each song its own unique, yet slightly familiar, feel. Most of us call this "style" for short.

The thing about Parov is it wasn't the electro swing that drew me in. Sure, I enjoyed the genre and he somewhat introduced me to it in the first place. But there's plenty of artists I've heard that aren't played on repeat in my playlists. There's plenty of electro swing I could name that doesn't have at least 50 playthroughs like Catgroove does, or Mojo Radio Gang. No, the genres he delved into is not the reason he's one of my favorite artists.

It's because of his remix strategy. Go back to his old songs and listen to them on loop. The more you listen, the more you begin to notice certain patterns. He stays away from modern sounds like beat drops and blaring electricity. He creates pieces that can be recreated by old-fashioned musicians and small-town bands. He leans on the scratchy, faded filter of old gramophones and lets the nostalgic singers be the star of the piece. And who could forget the beat that pulls everything together? Basically, I see the goal of each song is to give you a nostalgic earworm, a song that you tap your foot to unconsciously when you want to listen to music with your parents. A tribute to the previous Music Age that upgrades the beat.

*That's* what makes his music unique: because much like the Beatles, Bob Marley, Electric Light Orchestra and many other iconic artists, he doesn't target just one audience. He seeks to _combine_ audiences, make music that the young and old can enjoy and relate with equally. His electro swing combines old dance tunes with an electric jolt, remixing them to be more energetic for the younger fans. This song is a great example of this strategy. Many people brought up that it sounded like a traditional pop song. Perhaps that was...intentional? Don't know about you, but the idea of a small, worker bee making her way to the top throne with a style of '70s swing sounds pretty awesome for a song, and familiar.

This is a Parov Stelar song, 100%. I can sense his fingerprints all over it. Old-fashioned tunes, combining genres, an incredibly uncomfortable earworm to remove and most of all, a song that connects to the teenager AND their boomer-era parents. If anyone thinks otherwise and still believes this isn't Parov Stelar, they're a fan of electro swing, not the artist himself.

  6. Mr. Creepy

Jesus... Whats with all the hate? It is just a song. If he does change his style, stop complaining and just enjoy it. It annoys me when people get pissed off from stuff like this.

  7. Anastasia I.

Can we just appreciate that its a track from a very talented person that can do more than one genre? Have some chill yall

  8. Paul Miner

It may be atypical of their sound but I love it.

  9. Inkanous

Shut up and enjoy the song :)

  10. TakingOver [MRT]

    Well, ok

  11. KMG

    I miss swing 😔

  13. Stanislav Karásek

Rita - Saturdays (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_EHXF0gj5k) => the great use of the main vocal from this track. Much better song than this original.

  14. RODEX

    Endless listening this

  15. Alexander Munro

This is just awful. Not because it is not a good effort, it is of course definitely a pop song done quite well. Its just that I expect more from Parov. Swing is also pop. He actually took that sound into the 21st century, go figure. This is not that. Its just a bit annoying really.

  16. Dino

wuhuu wuhuu thats some real shit :) keep up the good work parov

  17. Nika Kezevadze

Bro go back, this evolution killin swings that we love the most 😫

  18. Ralph Richter

To achando esse clipe um pouco tendencioso, prefiro ele no Electro swing , aqui ta comercial demais coisa de EDM, prefiro ele seguindo as origens e se invoando por ai.

  23. greekgrapes greekgrapes

i want to love this song but i cant

  24. Cecile Fortin

way too commercial for my auditive buds. Much preferred the electro swing, vintage grounding tunes. Parov make us swing again because you did it best!

  25. Blantyre

    Love it

  26. Victor Fyre

I find myself hooked to this song. I don't really think anyone listened to the lyrics; they just judged it because you made something different (which is quite awesome, make any style of music you want! <3).

  27. Andreas Papandreas

    Невероятно и удивительно!

  28. David Lee

    KOZAK!!!

  29. bensharkey

This is freaking great! I hope you'll check out "Swing Don't Cost a Thing"

  30. MrBolsadeumteso

Parov Stelar have nice songs but that is decreasing in the quality.

  31. Dom Giu

    where gonna go your electroSwing?!

  32. DarkenedAndrew

Go back to electroswing, where you're the man.

  33. roberto rodriguez

    👍💖👌☝✌👏👏👋👋💞💕

  34. retrolectrovideo

    Impressive audio-visual work!

  35. Skystalker23

That does sound like every chart song. Sorry, but stay the swing true

  36. Horizyns

I like the music and the video. Trying something new isn’t always easy and it’s going to be hard for fans to adjust but eventually they will. I personally like the new style and the old style.

  37. Adam Bumpus

The whole "bling" factor destroyed the track.

  38. Theodore

Don't limit his music style. Just go find another swing musician. Stop crying

  39. TheEthanMaverick

    Referring to the flapper age?

  40. Gabe Kim

You know, this just isn't that good. But I'm only one man with one opinion.

  41. Misael Ruiz

Not much swing but a lot of electro, I don't like it.

  42. Johannes Schaller

    Tailor swift beat😂

  43. Adad G

The first Parov Stelar´s song that I do not like. This had to be happen some day, I guess.

  44. flowergirl

The song is really good but I miss the swing!! Liebe Grüße aus Wien

  45. michele beart

    * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

  46. David Basabe

Relax people, Parov has had many albums in which a pair of songs don't really sound like swing at all and then he bombards the rest of the album with his signature sound. His last album wasn't swing, more like electroblues but there was his originality in it and it did have a pair of much more pop oriented songs. The Princess had two parts, one, much more experimental and for artistical exploration, and the other delivering the swing sound that's irresistible to dance to. We wait till the entire album is released, if it's all like this then we riot

    Nate's Film Tutorials

David Basabe That’s part of the art process. Sometimes you got to get it out lol

  47. sohting

this would be better without human voice

  48. Paladin Mixer

I was expecting a fun swing-pop mix based off the intro... Which I guess I still got. But it sounds like a Jason Derulo beat man.
    20% trumpet power 80% radio

    It's Swalalala again ;-;

  49. clashofphish

Parov Stelar I expect better from you. Not only is it super poppy, but the topic of money. Come on man. That's lame.

  50. thanos paras

the intro guy is the missing guy from the movie ''get out'' ?

  51. Thanos Talekk

It's not he's style but is good thought. Video is good music is good her voice is good but lyrics is bad.

  52. InoNOheart

    good song!

  53. Bart&Baker

Parov deserves to be let free to come up with what ever he believes is right. No song would ever be released if one listened to each of us taste. :),

  54. Max Mach

Still this crap :/ Let me know when Parov Stelar will get better. For now, he is dead to me.

  55. Nazguloid

You betrayed your music for money. Stop this modern shit, Asshole! This is like listening to Katy Perry.

    Krysta Youngs

Nazguloid I’ll take that as a compliment :)

    Nazguloid

Krysta Youngs I had so many, nice, happy, swing-y tunes playing and this popped up from nowhere just to ruin the mood with the "generic pop with "inspirational lyrics"" sound (hope same rules apply to quotes as with brackets). You got to understand why I got so frustrated to write that comment.

    Krysta Youngs

Nazguloid totally :) no worries :)

    Nazguloid

And I really do not get the "sarcasm" when trying to criticise the materialism with these ego trip lyrics. Makes no difference to the rap s**t they do all serious like. And most of the people miss the part when you try to draw attention to things like these, they go with the ego trip. I know it wont sell as well, but try something like "scum will step on babies head, just to stash some green under his bed". That ought to draw some attention. Be well.

  56. Клим Таин

Money and fame destroyed many very good musicians throughout history of show-bis.
I hope that my favorite Stelars won't become one of them. Which is not eliminate the fact that these track is pure mediocre manestream .
Greetings from Russia! Waiting to see Stelars in my hometown Kazan. Continue your experiments in ElectroBlues.
