Back in the day my record would skip at 1:10 over and over and I would have to put pressure on the needle's arm or lift it up pass the scratch, this frustrated me so I didn't play this song. I was an old man before I finally learned the lyrics. Parliment wasn't only funky they were profound.

what i love about parlarment, i had a coworker who use to pick me up, and one time we was driving to work, and he ask me can you sing? And i asked him what song you want me to sing? and he played Jesus is real, and i begin to sing the song. He listened, and smiled and said whoa you got a voice, what church do sing at, and i told him i never sanged in church. And he looked at me and said, so where did you learn to hit them notes? This music is still amazing after 40+ years! Interestingly I discovered that Randy Brecker is "all over" P-Funk's recording history. Odd because all you ever hear about is Maceo, Fred and the rest of the "brothers", but never about "cousin Randy". Perhaps he only joined them in the studio and left the live party up to the other guys.

the brecker brothers played on the chocate city album but when Fred, maceo, kush, and rick.joined they had to.share horn duties and George always had players available in the clones album Bernie worell and Fred was writing all the horn arrangements and the horny horns and the breckers was doing the horn parts for bootsy, the brides, and parlet and let's not forget the other horn players
