I got into P Funk around 1990. I was 14 years old, living in So Cal, fumbling around with my boom box radio, and came across a college radio show out of Mission Viejo, called THE FUNK HOUR.

The host was THE FUNK MONK, who embraced my love for free form radio, and eventually taught me the ropes and allowed me to test my wings, at radio DJing.

This was one of the songs which forever holds a place in my heart...reminiscent of those early Sunday mornings....givin' up the funk!

RIP Junie Morrison. I consider Motor Booty Affair to be one of the great albums of all time, in large part because of his contributions.

Junie was a major player among George's P Funk movement of the time. My fav's are the slow jams/ballads he did--this jam along with Funkadelic's Promentalshitbackwash. There's a few others which came out eventually on some of those 'FAMILY SERIES' albums too.

I don't know about that! Bootsy was more important to the P-Funk Mob than Junie, but i give Junie a lot of credit because their biggest hits in 1978-79 were written by Junie. By that time the P-Funk Empire was beginning to crumble.

Most of the writing was done on the spot. George and a few other funkateers would come up with a basic idea. They'd lay down the basic tracks and put the rest together piecemeal. The tricky part was Junie would sometimes lay down the vocals first or last depending on the musical arrangement.
