This is my favorite PL album along with believe in nothing.

Very underrated album. It is not the Paradise Lost fans got used to, but in my opinion it is one of the best albums from the electronic rock/synthpop (or whatever you call the genre) music. Switching between genres and recording such good albums is my definition of being really talented people.

Most PL fans like all sorts of music so this wasn't an issue. we were all rocking out to the early 90s sound but also lapping up what Depeche Mode were doing around the time too. Believe it or not but we are allowed to like different genres of music.

The album that almost ruined their career.
Personally I think it was a brave move and it's a decent album.

They proved that they make music for themselves. That's something i always admired.

AMAZING ALBUM

Musically and lyrically one of their best albums. Properly produced, it could have been a gothic metal masterpiece.

It's been remastered for rerelease in March :)

What I find funny is that they look like the kind of band who would be making this kind of music in the picture, and today they look like the kind of band that would be making the music they are doing now. No way is that not intentional, not sure what I think about it I know I have personally changed in many ways over the years, but when a group of adults plan it? Kind of strange. They were certainly trying to break through around this time.

Of course it's intentional; bands almost always have some sort of unifying identity that compliments the music. It's about performance, playing a role, matching visuals with sound, etc. Given this, it's not at all strange that 'a group of adults' planned to alter their sonic and aesthetic sensibilities over the years to suit the needs of their creative output.

sound ok, voice ok, everything quite ok. They know their instruments well.
What lacks is: heart and soul, true feelings that come across. And that to me is the big difference to the quality of DM-Songs / Albums. Even if not all of them are masterpieces. Which band hast that btw?

DM is one of Greg's all-time fav bands...there are many DM songs covered by metal bands
