Papa Roach - Tightrope Lyrics
My words are weapons, in which I murder you with
Please don't be scared, please do not turn your head
We are the future, the 21st century dyslexic, glue sniffing cybersluts
With homicidal minds and handguns
We are insane, nothing will change
There is a thin line between what is good and what is evil and
I will tiptoe down that line, but I will feel unstable
My life is a circus and I am tripping down that tightrope
Well, there is nothing to save me now, so I will not look down
And again, and again, and again, and it happens again
And again, and again
There's no beginning, there is no end
There is only change
Take back your soul, forget your emptiness
There is a thin line between what is good and what is evil and
I will tiptoe down that line, but I will feel unstable
My life is a circus and I am tripping down that tightrope
Well, there is nothing to save me now, I'm falling to the ground
Falling to the ground, down to the ground, yeah
I speak of madness, my heart and soul
I cry for people who ain't got control
Let's take our sanity, let's take compassion
And be responsible for every action
Hell no, know how, the way, the way, the way know how
The way know how
There is a thin line between what is good and what is evil and
I will tiptoe down that line, but I will feel unstable
My life is a circus and I am tripping down that tightrope
Well, there is nothing to save me now, so I will not look down
There is a thin line between what is good and what is evil and
I will tiptoe down that line, but I will feel unstable
My life is a circus and I am tripping down that tightrope
Well, there is nothing to save me now, I'm falling to the ground
Down to the ground, all the way down, hidden in the dirt

“We are insane, Nothing will change.” Oh the accuracy of today . .
The more things change..the MORE THEY STAY THE SAME!
THIS SONG IS THE BEST SONG. 2019 STILL GETS ME RIGHT IN THE FEELS.
The nostalgia tops with this one. It's funny how modern it sounds and how the message it has is very applicable to today's society. Its kind of weird that the Infest album came out 19 years ago yet everything on it sounds so fresh!
@trent99 ikr it is legendary 💯🎸🎸🔥
I discovered this song while doing my homework, normally I would start from the beginning but I let it play. Feels like a lifetime ago
This is my favorite Papa Roach song. Such a great song to Blaze to!

But this song it's just great!
infest is awsome. the rest is mainstream garbage
This was back when we actually bought CDs. And a number of good albums had secret tracks. Right on 90s 2000s era
best time to be alive 🤘

-Bedlam called Earth-
THE infinitesimal put their hands together . Pray . Believe . Let Discouragement and Doubt be the luggage people with no faith carry around . And let my prayers as infinitesimal as I may be , Let those prayers go out towards the unfaithful as well . May you find peace and joy .
Love this song. Still know all the words
Melhor album !

Alot is said in so few words.
Those who say the least mean it the most.
this is the best song they ever did.
Go's back 2000...love
Happy 18th birthday to this album.!.!.
I still have the CD 😍
generic.
I was 5 when i first heard this album, 23 now. Nothing has changed. This album is still awesome!
This should have been on the radio, maybe then people would have taken them seriously.
It was in those days..
A forgotten diamond?
Am I the only one who had this song hidden ? Its likenthe best song of the album i mean lyrically its a true masterpiece
Papa Roach 12 Blunts after
Definitely takes me back
interesting how it's actually a reggae song in disguise. and a good one
Stumbling onto this song after Thrown Away was a life changing experience.
Still have the orginal CD..blasted this in my headphones on the bus, school, walking, and before going to bed. 2000 was a great year to be a young teenager.
I can tell. I miss it so much.
The late 80s and the 90s were an awesome time to grow up in. I still have my own original copy of this album as well, and I still listen to it and Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory on an almost daily basis. I initially thought that I would be over this type of music now that I have kids, but nearly all of these nu-metal bands have a very very suitable message in their songs which makes sense in today's society. It's cryptic and surreal... It's like they did predict where we headed.
The best fucking year...
Does this song remind anyone else of something 311 would put out???
29 now. Still get in my head when those toms kick in.
What is Tom. I don't understand. BTW I'm 30 now too. Miss those days
@Test Calibre Tom toms... a part of the drums
Now 30 still seem feels
Molly Wop I’m 28 now. Glad o grabbed this cd from my dads collection. Favorite song from the album is between angels and insects
First heard this song when I was 14, was travelling through Florida with my mum and fell asleep on the bus, woke up listening and thought someone had changed my CD. couldn't believe it was Roach!lol
Just like me! Lmao
So relatable, i think that is how i discovered it, by falling asleep listening to the album, then waking up to this song.... so funny how that song woke us up.
it's not a bad name eh?
No offense to fans of the band, but as a guy who actually doesn't
remotely like any of their other tracks, I have to say that Tightrope is
one of my favorite songs PERIOD from this era of music. That should
speak to the quality of this track better than anything a fan of the
band could say.
Damn right son.
fuckkk remember listening to this whole CD before they got famous
Kevin Gregory man before they got famous I seen them in front of a packed crowd of 20 people. Talk about a personal concert, they still had all the fire and intensity they ever had even in front of a tiny crowd in a bar. I worked at the bar and cooked them burgers and drank beers with them after they played. It was fuckin killer, the played in our area 3 times after that. They liked the small venues back then of only a few hundred people.
This song brings back a lot of my early 20's memories. Such an awesome song!
should've been a single...don't know why it was a hidden track.
Agreed, I'm thinking maybe it was simply because it didnt match the rest of the music they had produced for this album.
Its actually a reaggeish cover of one of their own songs
It was for those real die hard fans willing to go to the end and find that hidden 💎
I love that it was a hidden track. Back in late 90s to 2004 (before aux were popular) hidden songs were the shit. This and snowblind (SOD) are me 2 fav
@Cam Man yep and it fits perfectly. I still have the CD from way back in high school!!
Greeting from Kenya! Friday, 30th December, 2016, 7.02pm. As we await to cross over into 2017! Stay safe. Stay true; And always remember, there's a thin line...
I just want to be alone here in this song. fuck today. No One will ever change. no matter how tight the rope is in some way you will hang from it.
I remember, that i had found this song, after listened last song. And some minutes of silence after, there was it
the best album and the best song
should've been in that movie the walk
11 years now 27 years Best roach song
Same😢😢
fuckin a
spoken like a true wise man.....there is a thin line between what is truly evil!
Great song.

Tomas quiruza I was 11...I feel you
Was 11. Fuck, how time flies.
Was 11 in 6th standard when I bought the album
I was -3 😭 I'm actually a teen a i love this album
It's always the great songs like this you can't ever find on streaming apps.
streaming apps like Spotify? this is a hidden song merged with "Thrown Away", so it is there actually :)
Thanks for saying it's part of Thrown Away :D
Yes fount it on Spotify look for through away
most underated papa roach song.
It's just a ripoff of RX Bandits :D
Hidden songs are usually the most amazing!!!
@Nelson3300 rex bandits wasnt a thought when this song was published
@David Bohn RX Bandits formed in '95. The original version of Tightrope on "Let 'em Know" came out in '99. This version came out in 2000, as a secret song on "Infest". Guess what happened between those two? RX Bandits' "Half Way Between Here and There". (lol get it, half way between the two [totally unintentional pun])
My comment was meant to be tongue-and-cheek, but since you made me look it up, it sounds even more convincing :D
SUCH A GREAT SONG! I STILL HAVE THE CD THAT I PLAYED MULTIPLE TIMES IN HIGH SCHOOL!
brings me back to a different time
they played it last year here in new Orleans. so amazing! Gravity live is one of those songs that just grabs you.
when i was 17 i listen to this song on repeat for like an hour while playing sims on my ps2 while also chain smoking joints...i started have a panic attack an hour in and had to go to sleep lol
one of the best songs to date
lindsay hynes this is true
Nostalagi <3
I had completely forgotten this song even existed.
So much nostalgia now!
Eu também!
Your old.
this song rules forever!!!
Recuerdo "descubrir" está canción en mi disco pirata del Infest. Por mucho la mejor canción del disco.
Like si fue así
so this isn't a slightly stoopid cover? lol
.... a cover of what ?... im 99% sure this is an original ?
+Lee Gibbons oh it's cool, just not a song I could see papa roach doing is all.
@Mark Barlow it's actually a cover of a harder, louder version they did from their first album's days. You can find the og version here on YouTube.

Joseph Vintage Legend
always when i hear this song i feel so down and haooy
my words are weapons, in witch i murder you with
PErsonally speaking I think they lost their touch after Paramour Sessions. That was a great album. But this, this is where it's at.
If you like to just listen to 80s rock bands then fuck off, they still rock
I liked it better when Papa Roach played Infest and Lovehatetragedy musics, it was better
This is my favorite Papa Roach song... after listening to almost everything, this one tops it all. And it's so underground.
I just get lost in this song.
Check out orange drive palms.
Between angels and insects will always be my number 1
seriously do not understand how they can be so genius, his music is great !!
The only decent album by Papa Roach.
Crazy how hypocritical the lyrics to this album are when you look how badly this band ended up selling out.
Still... Infest is one of the best mainstream music albums of its time...
I don't know of a single band that spoke negatively about selling yet never sold out themselves.
Money talks. Money begets money and in turn evil begets evil.
Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Then again, I don't know of a single human being who isn't fallible to that wickedest of sin; plain old simple greed.
If u watched them come up from old friends from young years....
They did exactly what they should have done....
Lovehatetragedy was a good album man
Dude, i consider myself a big fan. Ive always listened to all of their albums. But in all honestly, theyve fucking sold out.
Listen to Between Angels and think where they are today
This album is amazing, nothing short of classic.
Amazing song and Album.
I love poppa roaches tight rope
Its papa roach
